It's weird thinking that these elderly Frenchmen might have been WWI veterans, fighting in the same conditions and thinking "Now this is the battle I'm used to when I was younger" since there were a lot of forts in WWI. Heck, some of them might've even been from Verdun, fighting in fortresses like Vaux or Douaumont. P.S: I wonder how the ghost of the lord who made this castle would've felt, when the walls managed to withstand modern weaponry.

Many of them fought during WWI, indeed. Even though several were generals and not actually on the frontlines, others were soldiers and officers in the trenches, especially this legendary tennis player taking a piss in front of the SS- Soldiers, who was rewarded during WWI with the highest ranking military medal : the Croix de Guerre.
Reynaud was too old already in WW1. But, back then military service lasted up to two years and was mandatory for every male citizen. So...

Could use more detail on the background and the journey to the castle. I read the book, and this video has no major errors that I noticed, so good job on that. Also, I would like to point out the VIP's weren't incompetent with firearms, all or most of the VIPs that participated in the defense had former military experience. In fact, three were known by their military titles: General Maxime Weygand, Colonel Francois De LA Roque, and General Maurice Gameline. Both prime ministers Paul Reynaud and Eduard Daladier had military experience, as did Jean Borotra. Bit of an understatement when you called Gangl a "decorated officer," he had the Iron Cross, 1st and 2nd Class, and the German Cross in Gold, which you can only get if you have the Iron Cross, 1st and 2nd class. Good video, historically accurate, but could use more detail in some areas, I would love to see a remake.
