Razer made it cheaper by removing THIS! - Razer ENKI

Razer released the Iskur gaming chair last year, and apparently, it was a hit! But, the big issue was the $499 price tag. The Enki is looking to solve that by being $100 cheaper by removing some of the features, most notably the custom lumbar support.

Colton: razer if you’d like to hire me as a designer Also Colton: please hire me before Linus fires me again
*again*
I bought razer mouse's years ago. All of them broke. Their products really are fragile; and their software was (probably still is) annoying as hell.
@@spiritfire3941 I've used razer mice for the last 15 years and never had a single one break and I'm pretty rough with them.
@@SubLimation7 I've had my death adder for 9 years. Nearly 10. Only thing that doesn't work is the middle mouse button. Middle mouse scroll works fine just mb3. Would have the blackwidow keyboard from the same time but spilt drinks on it numerous times

Colton is just a real stand up dood, volunteering his time to come and do reviews on short circuit, what a great guy :D
Dude, Colton's chair reviews are the best: Hi, this is a [ color ] chair, it's neat, has [add all the specs], it is comfortable? Meh. Thanks for viewing!
Yeah, their chair reviews can be summed up as "Is it comfortable? Yes. Would I buy it? No".
@@laerin7931 racing style chairs are just dumb. They're usually poorly made & priced for hype. You'll always get more bang for your buck & better ergonomics in an office chair. People have been making office chairs designed to be comfortably sat in all day for decades!
@@bbbbbbb51 Yeah, it's kind of the same deal as with "gaming headsets". They are often way worse than dedicated headphones made by companies that have been making headphones for decades.
@@bbbbbbb51 use a SecretLabs Titan for 2 years and tell me you still think that way :). Better then ANY office hair I have ever used (and I have been using them for a LOT of years).
I love how Colton stated early on "That's where the instruction just go out the window!" and then proceeds to put the entire chair together WITH THE INSTRUCTIONS!!! LOL
Eyyy, more chair reviews with Colton
8:33 David: “for a chair this cheap” Me: * has a 45 dollar “ergo” chair*
Yeah... are they for real? Am I out of touch or is $400 not that cheap for a gaming chair? How much are they usually?
--- @@TheRealDrCube It really just depends on branding alongside the chair itself. But definitely the branding tends to make the prices to skyrocket. The (no-brand-name and no leather) "Synchro Ergo"-mesh--office-chair when bought via a furniture store called "Masku" goes for ~300€ nowadays and the price really hasn't been fluctuating these past five or so years ( I just personally was able to get mine for 200€ since the shop needed clearance and this was a fully-assembled display / demo-unit ). (( And yeah: I know, I know, me mentioning this chair is quite trite at this point how many times I've mentioned this chair; I've just yet to find anything better for my needs though. )) ---
@@TheRealDrCube There are cheaper ones but hey this one has a sizeable warranty period so you know it's good build quality.
Exactly, like, it's a chair, for God's sake. My TV doesn't cost that much...
@@botondzsigmond5345 I will say, for someone who spends a lot of the day in a chair (especially during quality) a good chair is an investment. Not worth like 700 tho xD
"This is a chair that is designed to be comfortable to sit in all day" sooo..... their other chairs aren't? 🙃
designed to look gamer lollll

@@pandapolygon mesh chair all the way, mine has actually made me sit more up right, and the mesh means is comfortable and breathable
@@pandapolygon Mesh chairs cost a shit ton of money though and don't start me with the used Herman miller chairs because that only works in the US and even then you have to search like crazy to find one in good shape.
@@silotx no they dont
Design-wise, it feels like a rebranded DX Racer chair (I have a DXR for bigger guys). I've adapted mine with a fleece fabric cover and a pillow for an added seat cushion. The steel frame, while great for support, is excellent at aggravating the damaged discs in my lower spine (L1 to S2). The fleece is because the chair's finishes aren't necessarily suited to gaming shirtless and / or without pants on. 😳😲🤣
Yay a colton hosted video!
We all love Colton
Sad cause he's fired now :(
@@guscichoski why was he fired?
@@Usercehdbf you have bean tricked, backstabbed, and quite possibly bamboozled (It's a running joke at LTT where Linus just "fires" Colton in like every video)
Bought the Iskar about 3 days ago, the lumbar support is priceless for the sitting/leaning forward gamer. My lower back is very comfy while I'm in a forward position. I never recline while gaming or on the pc, only watching movies
So I've had this killabee massage gaming chair for almost a year and have been very happy with the comfort and the price. Maybe y'all could look at that for some kind of budget chair round up.
"Screw we’re all pre-enscrews" I had to go back to see if I heard that correctly 🤣
It's a portmanteau of pre-installed and screwed. It's pre-inscrewed, not enscrewed.
"Razer, if you want to hire me as a designer, I could apply." Oh, Colton. The only way you'd leave LTT is if Linus fired you. And what are the chances of _that?!_
One does not simply fire Colton
i work everyday with office furniture, and i have to say i am impressed about this chair with the adjustability. If i have to complain about something, then i would say the armwrists are too small and that you can't slide the back of the chair more backwards. Our cheapest NPR certificated office chair costs around $500 .. I also don't like the cover for the gasspring, it just looks so cheap. For the casters it depends on the floor what is the best to use. This is laminate, so a softer caster like this is great. On carpet it doesn't roll that well, and you are better off with harder plastic casters
The tilt on this thing is crazy, that would be nice to have on more regular office chairs. for the price its made of too consumable of materials, its not gonna wear as nicely as some more hard wearing chair fabrics / alcantara / leathers. $500 is also approaching the point where I'd expect the seat pan to remove for easy cleaning, at office chair prices I'd want more feature parity tbh
"Designed for everyone, you can sit in all day and still be comfortable. That's their target market." Shouldn't that be every chair manufacturers goal? 😂
thats what i was thinking lmao
companies convince bosses to get lower quality chairs because they promote movement and therefor health, which only a desk with sit/stand modes can fully accommodate afaik
No, some chairs are designed to be sat in for a short while.
@@YamaZombies sounds like a bad design to me 🤷🏻♂️
@@AtomikMenace yes because you have sat for at least 5 hours in every chair you've sat in for your whole life. You've never sat at a dinner table whose chairs' primary purpose is aesthetic. You've never sat in barbers chair, a bar stool, a park bench, a dentist's chair, a middle seat in a car, a folding chair, etc. No, you have only ever sat in high quality office chairs. Even when you're on the bus, you bring your heavy, large ergo chair because that's the only way chairs should be made.
I love how Colton became the chair guy
i love the chair reviews keep them coming
Good to know that Colton still isn’t fired. I wonder if he’ll get a chair for himself.
Why was he gonna get fired?
@@Usercehdbf It’s a running joke of Linus firing Colton.
I'm glad that the spelling of the chair name was on screen and in the description, because I never would of found it if I was going off Colton's pronunciation of the name. I would of searched for Aunchey or Unkey or maybe even Onkey. Is it just me? or would other people pronounce Enki a different way? I'm thinking more somewhere between En from English En-Key and Ink followed by a short i/y sound, like ink-y.
I guess David has always been pretty beefy, but my man looking yoked! Watching him mash those casters into place I was like damn my dude, take it easy over there. Linus jacked tips, amirite?
NGL I have the Enki and it is the best "gaming" chair I have ever owned, and mostly for the reasons hit on here. The wide base: every other chair I had before had a taper at the thighs of the seat that pushed on my legs, which means discomfort. The pillow: great shape, more supportive than others when reclining, but not needed for straight up. The cushion: sure it is less "plush" but you actually want a tougher cushion for an all day chair (especially noticeable after WFH post-COVID).
love my enki. worth every penny. had it for almost a year and its so solid. everything metal and very adjustable except the lumbar but the lumbar is perfect for me and probably most. ill let you in on a secret though. i ordered it from amazon and said the chair never got here. amazon has some crazy policies so yeah i got it for free. i would buy it for 400 tho for sure i wasnt even sure if the amazon thing would work so i was ready to drop the money. not to mention if you buy from their website you get a free %65 keyboard worth $170. dont know if its any good but sounds like a steal seeing as the chair is worth 400 already.
I love David. Coming to save the day with the muscles. seriously, please more David videos.
wtf is "butterfly" vs "frog"
A gaming chair that is designed to be comfortable. Did anyone notice how they needed to say comfortable...
I will never own another gaming chair. Albeit mine was a cheap no brand name thing off Amazon for a birthday gift from my mother. It was... A downgrade...
@@Kirisutekarl yeah that's probably why
Every SC should have guest judges. I like the variation in first impressions :)
Colton nearly crashing the chair at the start of the video. Linus: "You're fired again, Colton."
oh how I missed hearing Colton saying "My back is supported". I really like Colton, the chairs reviewer
I am glad I watched your video. I bought an open box "like new" Enki from Amazon and noticed the "gauntlets" were missing. Called up Amazon and told them I was able to get the chair together but technically speaking a part was missing so they gave me an extra 20% off for the inconvenience. Best $65 of worthless gloves ever. :) So far so good with the chair. Got it for working from home. Very comfortable. I like the fact it is not overly plushy like my son's gaming chair. Keep up the good work!
Happy with my True Innovations Serta-branded chair. For $200 I get _real_ leather and replacement parts (without S&H) is $15 individually for seat plate and gas lift, the two most likely things to break on it. Not buying another chair until they're out of business or discontinue such an easy replacement programme.
One of the biggest issue's with these kind of chairs is that the seat can't be adjusted. You'll sit way to deep in the chair which makes the distance between the seat and your popliteal to close.
thinking about buying this. as long as the seat is firm but comfortable at the same time
I see Colton I watch. He is literally "Short" Circuit
Lmao
What about showing us the other Razer chairs that are made for the International markets like the Razer Tarok Essentials, Razor Tarok Pro, and the Razor Tarok Ultimate Gaming Chair they range in prices of 250-400 AUD
I like how LMG is choosing specific members to review certain categories, like Colton/Chairs, James/WirelessEarphones, Alex/Laptops
Its not that they're choosing specific members but that the members are free to review stuff they want to, and those members have specific interests.
I wonder how long the fake leather lasts. My Maxnomic chair's leather started peeling after 4 years and after 5 years I bought a SecretLab chair with softweave. I really wish Secret lab would have this Razer Enki lumbar support because the lumbar cushion included is too thick for my taste but without it I feel bad. Razer seems to have created a very good chair this time.
For that price point I expect more, way more considering the Quality Razer usually has they should sell it for less than 200, because those chairs tend to be as good or better.
3:30 If I had a jackery, I'd definitely be using it to power fairly lights too.
David: Immediately throws away pillow. Also David: In desperate need of pillow when tilts back.
Do the big. Office chair vs ergo chair vs gaming chair video where you pick chairs from each category at all price points
not sure if you have covered it, but you should test the generic chair that was re-branded 1000x all of which comes from the same factory in china. (ebay $60-$250), mainly so we know if we're buying that one or an actual different one.
0:02 that was such a smooth transition, holy shit XD
Extra points for surfing on the chair. Comes with more RGB.
“Screws are all pre-in-screwed so we just take ‘em out” 🤣
We need chair reviews just so we can see whether or not Colton's been fired.
Is there a particular reason you don't provide some mic support for the guests? Rather than providing subtitles for us to read while we lean forward trying to hear them?
I love Colton's chair reviews.
What’s the difference between the two chairs Razer sells?
Would love to see you guys try the HM Cosm as it's a unique chair. No adjustments to do at all. Also no assembly. So probably just a 3min video tho. :P
5:50 That's not how you install that headpillow... The lower straps should go through the holes, not around the whole chair.
I kinda like it. I wish they'd make a version in white, like they do with their laptops \ keyboars \ mice etc.
01:06 when you compliment a guy on grindr and he keyboard smashes in reply
6:13 gave me anxiety. I've had my noblechair for 4 years now and panic if I got more than 45 degrees back 🤣🤣🤣
"I'm gonna take the gloves off- I can't take the gloves off" The internal struggles this man faces
Review the Okamura range of ergonomic chairs made in Japan.
When He said, his neckpillow is on the back of his head. xD Dunno what u doing but my pillow is on my neck xD
The experience is worth to me more than the product, the care they put into it says that I'm appreciated...
I searched enki review expecting to see colton, was not disappointed
You should try the backforce (made by interstuhl in germany, but only available in the eu).
I may not be like everyone then... 'cause I'm pretty much watching ALL these vids and wait for the next one already :D Colton rocks!
Could you perhaps review a Sharkoon chair? Like the Skiller SGS40 for example Don't know if that's possible, but Sharkoon is known as a "budget but still good" kind of brand here and their chairs are at similar price points
Is good that they support your back, now your phone is a different story, rigth Razer?
This looks almost exactly like my Dowinx chairs... Except the Dowinx are this antique brown leather. Still quilted, double stitched, the whole nine. The arm rests on mine look nicer though. I guess Steve was right, just badge engineering chairs at this point
yo, what's that gold PC case? I love it!
Colton is so good with these reviews! David is also a nice surprise
Good to see Colton chair reviews again!
2:32 "the screws are all preinscrewed..." I see we're inventing words again...
How do you like the pillow? Im wondering if I should buy this pillow compared to the one that comes with the razer iskur.
This might sound like an odd complaint but the background music being so quiet drove me up the wall. I wanted to tear my hair out by the third minute. Besides that, cool unboxing!
Great gaming chair ^^ Very happy with the purchase ^^ Black is concise and stylish
I like how this guy gets to do the second one aswell. Should make for a nice storyline in 10 years. :D
Colton does the best chair reviews EVER!
the best part about the uber expensive chairs like herman miller is that they come preassembled
Okay this is packaged EXACTLY like Secret Lab, which makes me think they either copied the manufacturing of Secret Lab or they are using Secret Lab to fab these chairs on their behalf. Even the instructions are 90% identical
Same thought. Im guessing its made by Secret Labs
I mean, both started up from the same country so there's going to be similarities
well there also is the pro version which has a 600 dollar upcharge and its "extra comfortable" and the head thingy is magnetic
Sometimes when the chair rotates a little, I hear a sound like a slight crackling in the metal at the bottom of the chair. Does this happen to you, and what is the solution?
I’d like hen making the playlist like Chairs, Headphones, keyboards etc should all go into their own playlist
The way u say "Enki" is maybe one of the best words I ever heard.
Start checking out the more expensive ergo options from brands like Herman Miller and Steelcase. See if the exorbitant price is worth it over something in the $500 range.
Maybe it's a little bit far fetched but I'd really like to see a good comparison between the Herman Miller X Logitech Embody and their classic Aeron
Mine didnt come with the building gauntlets they even removed the print where it would be on the box
Yess!! Colton is back to revewing chair! :D
I would like to see some chair reviews from Atonomous. We have the Ergo Chair 2 and it feels really great. Personally I have an AK Racing Fat Max?? It is designed for people that are wider and heavier. However, my daughter likes to sit criss-cross in it. That could make a cool video. 😎
God I'd love a new ergo chair that fit my size etc etc. So expensive tho. Goodwill is my current chair brand of choice......
Is there any dimension information such as the depth of the seat??
I still think there's some Secretlab in these Razer chairs, some components look identical
I weight ~250lbs. This would probably work for me but I'd be more comfortable with getting the XL version instead. That and I have a big rear end.
My current chair is so old, 15+ years that this would probably feel like heaven.
Skip this chair and get a steelcase Leap V2. Had this chair for about 1.5years and I still love it! If you sit all day long its worth the investment
You should review the EazeeChairs M3 and M5
Why is the TV on in the background? Is it some sort of product placement for baby shark?
executive chairs mate I've seen some cool more ..... adult chairs if you like with extendable foot rests leatherette type comfort chairs not mega expensive either
Warning: Lumbar support is way, way too low. It only fits well when seat is reclined like 25%. If you like to sit upright it will dig into your pelvis and it cannot be adjusted. This is VERY uncomfortable chair if you do not like slightly reclined position.
7:40 Jeff can play telekinetically
Colton is my favorite SC host, chair guru
Colton, did you got an intel tech upgrade after you were fired?
Why do all these chairs have side bolstering? I'm not planning on cornering my desk.
lol you didnt read the instructions for the pillow, the lower strap is supposed to go through the holes on the chair.
