    • As a lifetime front rower, strength is overrated. The best front rowers are technical not strong (although some strength is necessary).

  • Always loved these sort of random competitions, it was exactly why I got into strongman as a kid, seeing men lift cars, flip tires, lift stones and all the other unique events before I got intrested in how much weight they were lifting. That's exactly why I'm against wsm and other strongman contest becoming more like a indoor gym event.

  • You should've gotten the larger rugby player like the Tongan Thor etc. You can't expect a half back or these small players to put up good competition. Obviously the strongmen would beat the the big rugby players as well but it would be more interesting to watch.

  • Why didn't they do it with the front row and the second row (yes the strong man will still win in the power department) it would be more of a challenge as the forwards in rugby are bigger and stronger than most backs and I would find it more interesting to see the difference between a strongman and a prop.

  • Rugby tests all physical attributes Strength Stamina (cardiovascular fitness) Speed Skills (kicking, passing, tackling, lineouts etc) Contact sports also test these attributes but on individual basis. Strongman competition may have some of attributes but focuses on strength. Cardiovascular fitness of strongmen is terrible compared most athletes
