Being uncomfortable is what uncovers life's learnings. Reach!
Jocko took his rebellious nature and rebelled against it. Fire with fire, devil with a demon, this man took his greatest weakness and made it his greatest strength. You’re an anime character man.
Suffering sorts your priorities out quick. It's cathartic.
Being in environments that challenge you is crucial to growth. For the past few years I thought I was hot sh*t for going to college and graduating. Then when I ran a business that was losing money, and couldn’t even get accepted for a job to change bed sheets at a hospital, it humbled me to reevaluate my life. Now I’m doing some mundane work to pay the bills, but I use every moment of free time to grow my new passion, grow myself, and help others. But this wouldn’t have happened if I stayed in the disillusionment of being the best
00:54 🌊 Embrace environments that challenge your beliefs; they foster personal growth by pushing boundaries. 03:17 🛹 Different SEAL teams had diverse cultures; SEAL Team One was strict, fostering military professionalism. 05:37 🔄 Being placed in an environment opposing your natural tendencies can help balance and develop your character. 07:28 🏗 Leaders need to adapt: extreme control or total laxity both lead to issues; finding the opposite environment helps self-development. 09:43 🎯 Understanding the importance of adhering to standards for the mission while maintaining a balanced approach to authority is key in leadership. 12:38 🌱 Growth requires stepping out of comfort zones, resisting conformity, and seeking challenging environments for self-improvement. 13:33 🤝 Physical placement in challenging environments can reshape perspectives, fostering personal growth and openness to new ideas. 15:56 💬 Subscribing to Jocko Underground aims to create a direct connection, fostering a strong community without reliance on external platforms.
It’s crazy to think Jocko has a dad.
Yeah we picture jocko having a virgin mother throughout life like chuck Norris
Around 0:30 when Jocko says "that makes one of us" lol! Now I want to hear the old stories of Jocko getting kicked out of bars, bet they're epic!!!
ive enjoyed looking up music jocko has mentioned currently listening to cro mags ... they are good never heard of them before its like peering into a hidden world and finding treasure...thanks jocko
I discovered Slasher because of him. Love it when he name drops music groups so I can tweak my playlists lol.
I coined this awhile ago. Men love pain. We base our life on it, we show what we have been through by it, we judge others by how much they have been through. Its how we in some small way justify our existence.
Jocko thank you!
Yeah give it a Name... Have a great Friday and weekend Be Well 🕊️
Voluntary DISCOMFORT...has Changed me for the Better.
Was told that pain is weakness leaving the body...
straight up wisdom
As a guy from the fleet, I get the threat of being sent to the fleet is real.
😂
Obrigado Jocko! The most significant point here is the guidance to expose yourself to environments that are different from those you are used to. This is important to expose the individual to a new reality that can eventually increase their behavioral repertoire. To do this, you first need to know your current environment, your behavior and your limits, so you can seek out new environments and contexts that will broaden your worldview. Thanks Jocko!
Fantastic videos as per, waiting for the million subs now
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸
If your comfortable in that environment your not growing you can’t skip resistance. Good to put self in situations that challenge belief. Choose discomfort that is Green the higher the pain higher growth Keep your word
"That makes one of us" 😂😂 Jesus imagine trying to get a handle on a drunk Jocko and his squad 😳

lmfao 🤣
"That makes one of us." 😂
I've been gooning and jilling to Jocko.
Goon fiesta. Gang gang
I like how you put that. Suffering in action*
then it is good the environment we are in
I like that piano music at the end, now I know why. It's an anchor to the Exorcist piano theme which is similar...............kind of spellbinding
"You still need to get some take downs on"
Do the things that are hard, when they are easy. So when things get hard, it's gonna be easy.
In the evaluation phase it would make sense to match young people with what they need as opposed what you like. To one degree or another every young person rebellious until you meet someone you value doing something you value.
Rather have a journey than a dead end meet. I've found so much value, even if 90% of the time, it don't feel like. It's the destination, as the ground work... The Will.
It sounds like when I was racing 4 wheels, learning the other disciplines to improve
Saw Cro- Mags with All Out War sometime in the 90’s at house of blues Chicago. Don’t quote me on venue I can’t remember every venue I’ve been too. There were so many fights during AOW set, they had to keep stoping the show and finally threatened to stop the show if people didn’t stop fighting 😂 good times (mainly because I wasn’t getting my head stomped in haha)

Suffering pain is painful.
"You can do it"
In nature, under tons of pressure on a lump of coal it can be transformed into a Diamond.
Is our military "better" today than it was 20 years ago? Are we more mission capable, able to handle more, and has the culture improved or worsened in different ways?
Who are you asking? Jocko? If so, i hate to break it to you but he does not read these comments. 🤣
You cannot see enough of it. Life evolved painfully and we're a reflection of that. But you don't have to torture a plane to make it stronger. Some people actually need positive environments to grow. Some thrive in adversity. This has been necessary because there are many situations, some easier, some harder, and we need some people able to grow in one or the other. But you -do not- know any more how to engineer an ideal situation any more than you know how to craft the ideal tank. Those who commit suicide under pressure just needed different treatment, those who wilt under conditions of ease, maybe so-too. Let them -choose- to be there. Or else you risk making enemies of potential friends. Thensense of injustice plus unjust cause does sometimes radicalize those who under better treatment may have been allies.
Jocko. Family man on a budget and a work schedule that is not set. I want to learn BJJ my nearest school is 200 miles away any ideas or thoughts to achieve this goal is helpful.
🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼🐐🙏🏼
What is a good first step for someone who is trying to develop more self discipline?
Make your bed, clean your room, keep your word.
Fear the consequences.
Yep, makws people mentally tough.
🤙
The conditional perfect tense goes "if i had... then i would" not "if i would have". Sorry but that bugs me every time.
#MOLK!!! I had some
A realtor took me to a house that had "deferred maintenance" really bad. The challenge was how to transform this house into a healthy environment suitable for living. I rejected the opportunity at the time and turned to a house that was "Turn Key." If you want to awaken your creativity, perserverance, and tenacity, buy a "fixer-upper."
Anyone know what episode this is ?
It’s from the Jocko Underground Podcast, episode #86. (Check the description of this video)

Suffering pain *can be useful. That use can be good. But please don't render categorical the hypothetical.
Can I get credit for the jocko underground? It sucks to be broke without a job it's shameful

What’s up with it starting over 15 seconds in on a loop? Just me?
Just you I’m afraid
@@ChiTownProdigy thanks for the response. Was very odd. Thanks again and have a good weekend.

Hey...just living cost
I think this also applies to confirmation bias. If I always listen to people with my values and my perspective, I don't think I can grow intellectually. Every once in a while, I force myself to listen to a liberal, regardless of how uninformed they might be. And I think it helps my brain stay malleable, by hearing a different perspective or set of ideas. Someone like a Harvard professor is sometimes good to hear from. Not because I'll agree with them, but because I probably won't, and that's ok
Don’t Bother Me
Actually every one can make it to Green Berets just need 2 drops of n-Blood. Bloof IQ
Actually, Green Berets don't go through that; they are supposed to sprint with magnetic battery on the shin and electrocution point on that region. Literally impossible to pass except Trump whom did with flying colors.
It’s so hard some uncomfortable things are way too uncomfortable
dont stop the standard directives please
Conservatives always attempt to covet manliness, but those who are actually tough, as opposed to pretend to be, view life like a liberally mined person, not a conservative close mined person. They are open to new ideas and ways of looking at life , and themselves, not trying to force everyone to live by the rules of a book written thousands of years ago. True courage is that ability to understand that those books are full of knowledge and wisdom, but that there are all corners of the world and the human heart and mind that are full of knowledge and wisdom as well.
Evil mortals
🌄☝️🇺🇲
It's SOOOOO much easier to "suffer pain" when one happens to have been lucky enough to have been born with superior physical and mental genetics.
What a delusional mindset 🤣 so 100% of the people who get through adversity and true hardship are simply genetically gifted and in no way shape or form worked for that mindset, that physical state, to as mentioned; get through such hardship or pain? If you keep telling yourself this… the boat will leave you behind and you’ll be by yourself, feeling sorry (per usual) being the same unmotivated MF you were 6 months ago. While the rest of us actually realize our potential and continue to overcome boundaries.
Pain is weakness leaving the body.
