  • I’m 63 years old and in fantastic shape. I have people ask me all the time how I do it. My response is “Keep going!”. Never stop. I have pulled muscles, strained knees, and injured my back numerous times. I have trained around and past injuries my whole life. I never quit or gave up. Now in retirement, I train seniors in physical fitness. I’m disappointed at how fragile and willing to quit most people are. I can’t tell you how many people tell me, “Oh, my doctor said not to do that”. The first thing I say to them is, “What does your doctor look like? Does he work out? Is he in good shape/ health?” I can’t stress enough, do the work! Don’t let some bozo tell you how to live your life. And don’t kid yourself. Working out and pushing past boundaries is never easy. I’ve been doing it for 46 years and there’s days I hate everything about it. Just keep going.

    • Yeah man I’m there with you, I’ve had over 15 broken bones. My worst accident was falling 40 ft rock climbing breaking my pelvis and 3 ribs. Then 3 months later slipped in the parking lot after finally getting back to work and broke them again. Broken left ankle twice broken right collarbone twice hit by a car in 2018 broke 2 ribs again went surfing and from just laying on the board I broke 1 again broken elbow more back strains than I can remember but over 15 where I couldn’t work.. and all the fkn pills and lack of guidance and being alone trying to work and pay bills I’m 48 and still snowboard and climb and skate when I can. I can never stop snowboarding and hopefully I’ll never have to…I’m no hero I’m just beat down after 30 years of injuries…I definitely wonder ‘why’

  • I’ve become incredibly mentally weak over the years, turned into a fat, insecure, depressed lazy loser. I developed a nasty temper and a mind that is so fragile to criticism that I’ve nearly killed my 13 year long relationship. I’ve been trying these last few days to get my shit together, I’ve learned how easily I gave up on nearly everything. I’m running every day, trying to get my diet straight and working on “taking inventory of my days” . I listen to this entire thing every time I run and it’s absolutely a game changer. I appreciate this content so much and I’m praying I can’ stay on course and prove to myself and my spouse that I’m not done in life and have so much more to show and be. I want to be the man she deserves and be someone I can be proud of. Keep this stuff coming, you guys are literally saving lives.

I haven’t ran in 3 weeks, kind of fell into a funk again for the 2nd time since I’ve started. You got this shit even when you burn out and aren’t ready to go as hard as you were just try and remember the gains you made and how far you got. I’m down 50 lbs now and have cut 5 min off my mile time it’s been so fucking hard to stay consistent sometimes but being better and healthier can only help you. I haven’t been this happy within my marriage or as a father in a LONG time, years in fact. Get yours even if it’s a little each day. You got this!

I'm now running ~5 miles at 8 mph, riding my bike 20 miles and doing sets of pushups totaling 150 in 15 minutes. I had to want something more than the mental and emotional pain I endured to get it. I was 227 lbs. I just hit 188 lbs. I am fit and strong. It's mostly a mental game. Stay hard

    • Recently I got hired at a small start up business in my field. I was hyped to work in my specialty. Just objectively, I had years more experience than the owner. She was in a similar field but took out mortgages to start this new biz, etc... I treated the business like my own, productive, built relationships with clients, increased revenue. But she had some type of otherworld vision for the company... She wanted to reinvent the wheel which can be ok but over 10 months I saw staff morale decline, customers not coming back, and the business continued operating in the red. I would get told I'm doing too much, I'm not a "team player" (with a losing team?), I didn't do little entry level micro management things while I generated the most sales and ensured client satisfaction which was not a recorded metric. I realized I was stuck in whatever her dream was and it became a nightmare at least for me and probably for the people that quit in the first 7 months. I knew I should be running my own business. And I know I can do it better. I am grateful because I saw the potential of the market in town. I saw inexperienced people squander it. And I see the opening for me... And I've started by stapling flyers to telephone poles. I don't have enough money for a huge initial investment, so I'm starting at the bottom

  • "My Glory Doesnt happen in front of a crowd It doenst happen in a stadium Or on a stage There are no medals handed out It happens in the darkness of the early morning. In solitude Where I try, and I try, and I try again With everything I have to be the best I could possibly be. Better than I was yesterday. Better than people thought I could be. Better than I thought I could be. And claim one victory That no one could ever take away from me ever. The victory that is earned every single day. A victory of determination. And will. And discipline. A victory achieved because I will not stop! " I have memorized this part of the video and tell it to myself everyday!!!!

I think about the people seeing me daily on the. Street while I’m killing myself. But I’m giving 110% all out and even though I don’t know those people. They know I’m determined and I’m KILLING IT. Biggest thing ive taken is dont be contempt, better yourself when you think your content. Cause there is more to life then not working, theres more to life then being the person you used to be. Get out of bed get off the couch and find what you are willing to be today...

Now, I get up around 4-4:30 on the weekends (to enjoy it more) so I can "sleep in" til 5:00 on weekdays. Then I get intentional about my day but I AM IN CONTROL of it at that point. Figure out how to WIN control of your mind and day and I promise you you will not regret it. Now, to get myself back into that bloody gym...

  • Been grinding it out 7 days a week for past year and a half. Last few days, those voices Jocko and Goggins we're talking about came knocking hard on my door, but I wasn't listening. After routinely fumbling my way to the basement gym at 5AM, I started my workout. My body and mind kept telling me they weren't feeling it and I should take a day off cuz I've done enough. I dragged through the workout and felt good the rest of the day about pulling through. Next morning, same thing happen. My body and mind kept telling me to call it a day, but I dragged on through the workout. After my third day of my mind and body trying to sabotage the workout, my mind and body finally gave up and stop whining. And now I'm fully back into the grind. I have to admit those voices were very demanding and persuasive. I'm so glad I didn't listen to those fools and pushed through.

Hopefully you can consistently work out for a long time where working out is so ingrained and second nature to you that if you miss your workout, that psychologically you believe that there is going to be some serious consequences for breaking the routine. So for me, it's an addiction. Just the thought of not making the workout makes me anxious. I must make it. I will make it. I have to make it. Best of luck to you. Make it happen.
