  • His striking is lovely to watch. I'm nearly 43, used to read Black Belt magazine when Bill Superfoot Wallace was featured in it. Payton's striking shows how far the bar has risen for the martrial arts in general. A lot more naturally gifted fighters are incentivized to choose mma over other sports now. The UFC has nasty vibes, but it created the momentum that incentivized this rise in the martial arts, so I cannot help but feel grateful. Has Payton faced any strong wrestlers? I wonder if he can handle someone like Merab yet.

  • This guy has the potential to be a MASSIVE star. He has the “it” factor. He’s the better version of Cory and Sean (not saying fight-wise, I mean as a person). He has an artistic mind and is the cool guy that isn’t trying to be the cool guy (cough cough Suga). I’m so excited to see what the future holds for him.

  • The first I've heard from him and he's already one of the more interesting fighters.. And even better that he doesn't have to play up his character, wear anything crazy or do anything crazy with his hair to get attention. He's just himself and seems genuine.
