These men were performing artists, and legends of cinema. But they were FICTIONAL. Kung Fu is an art form made for entertainment. It's inexplicable for martial arts, especially compared to Muay Thai or even Tae Kwon Do or Karate.
Buakaw explained in his own KZhead channel that the knee strike with the muaythai plum was legal so long as only 1 knee strike was thrown. The Chinese officials were all perfectly fine with it since this was agreed on by all sides prior to the match, but this dude literally decided in the middle of the match that he didn’t like it and tried to change the rules mid match. Buakaw said this is the first time he’s ever experienced that. Even tho the match was held in China with Chinese officials, everyone was on Buakaw’s side, and the officials were trying to explain to the other guy that 1 knee strike was allowed but he was being a diva and refused to fight unless they changed the rules. The crowd was furious, and the Chinese fighter got so much hate online that he had to delete his social media. This fight was also uploaded to a Chinese channel and all the comments in Chinese praise Buakaw and blame the Chinese fighter for embarrassing China. I do agree tho that if this was held anywhere else the match would probably end in a tko win for Buakaw since the other dude didn’t want to fight, so obviously I don’t agree with the NC, but I think it was more to do with the officials not knowing what to do rather than them being corrupt. They were all in agreement with Buakaw, so this isn’t a case of foul play but rather just one fighter being a diva and refusing to fight. Ps: in case you came from Gabriel Vargas’ channel, yes I did also commented this on his video as well and just copied and pasted it here for anyone curious.

His balance, strength, flexibility, technique, conditioning, toughness are all on another level. He is extremely dangerous at any range. It's also amazing how well conditioned and how good Buakaw still is at his age. Just absolutely incredible. What an amazing athlete! He just looks very comfortable in there, yet also very intense. He definitely gives off some serious vibes!

Wang made it sounded like Buakaw refuse to fight with MMA rule, but in reality Buakaw was all for it, but he insisted that his fee has to be renegotiated. Funny thing is, with MMA rule Buakaw would be able to really fuck Wang up even worse than with K-1 rule.

His excellent push kicks would actually be quite useful as well, especially against grapplers. His push kicks don't just create space, they can do serious damage.

An overly polished, and usually ptivileged, "master" of (something) sets up a vanity event and starts crying when they're finally losing face... Kung-fu Princess agreed to K1 rules meaning ok to knee to body in a clinch. He knew what he signed up for. What he didn't plan for was that his plan of illegally kicking the knees and the balls would not K.O. Buakkaw, even though I can assure you alot of tough fighters would have gone done from either one as that Kung-fu guy had legit hard kicks. After seeing that Buakkaw wasn't even phased and in fact smiling... Kung-fu kid was knew only pain awaited him, so in the end he was wise after all.
The rule-breaker should be forced to pay the winning fee to his opponent from his own pocket.
