I like that her "cat ears" are actually a part of her gadgets, not only an accessories. Its actually useful not only as a night vision gogles that she used all the time, it also a part of her masks that hides her identity.
And what purpose do Batman's "bat ears" serve? I'd have preferred that Catwoman had an outfit closer to what she wears in the comics, just like Batman does. I'd also have liked it if she were referred to as Catwoman.

@dafuqawew And Catwoman's ears could perform a similar function. The fact remains that there was no reason whatsoever to alter Catwoman's outfit from what it looks like in the comics, or to not refer to her as Catwoman at all in the movie.

"Doing things straight from the comic book in a realistic world would look campy af" is a statement that comes from a total lack of understanding of the comics. DC Comics have been doing things from a "realistic" standpoint ever since the Crisis on Infinite Earths storyline in the late 1980s. Batman Begins and The Dark Knight both drew heavily on Frank Miller's Batman: Year One and Jeph Loeb's The Long Halloween, which also took things in a more realistic direction. Christopher Nolan overdid things by assuming that he needed to add realism to a medium that already did most of the work for him decades earlier. If you want to talk about realism, then please tell me what technology currently exists to make Bruce's cape act like a glider? Tell me how Harvey Dent's left eye doesn't dry up from lack of moisture considering that he can't close it at all in The Dark Knight? How about the fact that Bruce Wayne is shown needing a leg brace at the start of The Dark Knight Rises due to damaged cartilage, yet the leg brace mysteriously disappears during Bruce's imprisonment and escape from the pit that Bane leaves him in? Let's not even discuss the ridiculous way Bruce heals from Bane breaking his back. There was no reason why Catwoman's outfit couldn't have been closer to the comics considering that Bruce's outfit closely matches the comics as well. There was also no reason why Selina couldn't be called "Catwoman," other than Christopher Nolan's petulance.

2020 and I'm still saying Michelle Pfeiffer delivered her best, most Oscar-worthy, untouchable, incredibly nuanced screen performance as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. She singlehandedly made Batman Returns a re-watchable cult classic hit instead of the dreary and grotesque flop it otherwise would've been.

Because ya know Catwoman is a cat burglar after all. Michelle gave a good performance, but it felt a little over the top and campy at times. It’s definitely not untouchable.
She only had 19 minutes of screen time in a movie that is 2 hours and 44 minutes nearly 3 hours

I really liked her too. Michelle Pfeiffer was also quite good in Batman Returns-different, but still great! It's like comparing Jack Nicholson to Heath Ledger as Joker-they're both great in their own unique ways!

Can’t believe chris Nolan actually pulled all this off the way he did. Incredible and impressive. That’s a hard feat to accomplish considering the “realistic” tone of the world this film and the dark knight are set in

She’s a jewel thief that uses cats as a gimmick. Batman Returns missed the most fundamental things about her character.

This is a more realistic version of Batman. So of course Cat Woman was not gonna magically get her cat powers. I didnt mind her character and action scenes. They added charm to the movie, like the finale reveal with Robin.

Mark Selina Kyle did not have powers in Batman Returns. 🙄 A whole comic book was published to further explain why she never actually died, and she never had 9 lives. When she was pushed through the window she hit those things that provide shade to a window/room, and thus absorbed the impact. The cats just woke her up from her unconscious state. And every time she “died” as Catwoman she never actually dealt any actually fatal shot (none of Max’s shots were to a vital organ). She even recognizes her mortality in a sense when she falls into the kitty litter after Batman slaps her off a rooftop. She never actually had 9 lives. The Batman Returns comic explains this explicitly since it is a plot element that people normally overlook (myself included when I first watched it).
She never had cat powers unless y’all are talking about that god awful catwoman movie...

Anne played a poor girl who acquired goods from decades of being a thief, making her an expert Cat Burglar. This version of Catwoman is accurate to tht respect, but each cinematic portrayal has it's differences. Until I saw the film I thought she was a terrible choice, but she actually was my favorite part. She did the best with what she was given. She embodied the tall, cool and calm Selina...too bad the fight choreography on the Nolan films were so bad!

People do not give Anne enough credit at all. She was Selina BEFORE Catwoman really emerged. The look, the sarcasm, the deception, the vulnerability--Anne was superb.

Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman come from a campier Batman series, she was more villainous and she did great with her version Anne Hathaway's and was more Cat Burglar and was not supposed to be campy, she was more badass and more importantly, she was a woman with flaws wanting to start new... Both actresses did great in their own versions of Selina Kyle...

Let's get this straight: Michelle Pfeiffer was CATWOMAN, Anne Hathaway was SELINA KYLE. Michelle's version of Catwoman was feline-like, hence why she sad nine lives and why she had traits of an actual cat. Anne's portrayal was more human as she played the role as a cat burglar and like a spy. Both were amazing but people can't compare them because 1: they had different portrayal's 2: Their characters are different, Anne was Selina, Michelle was Selina and Catwoman They hyped Anne up to be Catwoman for promotion

She's just called "the cat" in this. I think some people are aware of that but we just call her catwoman anyway because that's who she is. She's more catwoman than John Blake is Robin.
In addition to pulling off the choreography pretty well, she sounds & acts just like Catwoman. This was surprisingly a good cast, even if the looks differentiate a bit.

Anne was a GREAT Selina. I've been collecting Catwoman for 40 years. Zoe was fantastic, too. They both played the old, and the new. I wish Nolan placed at least ONE cat in the movie. But his vision was to have her be the cat burglar before she became the Catwoman we know and love today.

Anne was awesome in it. The only complain I had , she doesn’t have enough screen time , the fight scenes are ...okay. She captures Selina’s personalities, just the choreography...I don’t expect the producers gonna give her a whip because of “Nolan’s realistic take”, but Selina is well trained in gymnast and combat , but oh well hopefully the new one will give her justice

I agree! But just needed to say a few things. Anne’s portrayal of Catwoman is the cool, calm, and (almost) self-centered thief, much like in the comics. However, Michelle’s portayal of Catwoman is that chaotic, morally confusing anti-hero with a “what-suits-my-interests” personality, also much like in the comics. Both did a wonderful job. Personally, I can’t pick which Catwoman was good because all of them seemed so good and sort of comic accurate. They both are good and wonderful at the role!
