    • 1. Nope. She's the complete opposite of beauty in literally every way imaginable, and I think 99.9% of men would agree with me. 2. Maybe. Never seen her act before, probably never will. Her acting is not why she won though. They had to give you at least 25% of the acting awards or we'd have to hear you bitching about "Oscars so white" for the entire year. We'll probably hear it anyway. 3. And? Sounds like she had the PRIVILEGE of already being picked for the role before she even auditioned. 4. Who cares. Lots of people have lots of degrees in lots of things. Most of us don't need to be celebrated for simply graduating from school.

  • I hope I’m not the only one to notice this, but Lupita’s dress gave me deja vu from the beautiful dress she wore when she got her first Oscar: similar shape, similar sleeves, similar almost identical shade of blue. It’s so fitting since she was part of the big five presenters this year and she won her Oscar precisely 10 years ago. Light blue is definitely her color

  • I’m so happy for her. She makes everything she is in better by bringing a very deep and palpable undercurrent of humanity to her roles. She deserves to be recognized and celebrated for her work, and I’m so glad her peers (and everyone else ) agree. I also loved the new presentation format. This year every category was packed with nominees who might have easily won in any other year, and I loved how the new format allowed all the nominees to be honored.
