  • That “mother” dumped Jonathan on her elderly parents and he tortured them. Today’s teens can be very dangerous; it was justifiable homicide at most. What’s wrong with our system? That boys mother should be ashamed of herself for she’s just as guilty as her mother.

    • Agree. I feel not emptying her gun could have made her end result so much better. Just saying it looked bad. Super sad. How bad do you have to mess with your grandma to make her want to shoot him? Parents couldnt handle him.

    • Amen my friend, I was going to post the same thing. It appears to be the norm. Frustrated parents who failed in raising their children correctly, foist their child on the grandparent. Then the grandparent loses their quality of life or even their own life or lives. The daughter should have shrunk in embarrassment rather than center attention on herself as a so called 'victim.''

    • To shoot your grandchild, 10 TIMES is murder!!! That so called grandmother wasn't scared for her life by shooting him that many times, she was ANGRY. Those of you commenting how this grandmother was at her wits end,etc,etc...it would be best to research this case . Listen to the 911 call, it's horrifying.

She first said she wasn't there when he was killed, then said two people dressed as ninjas killed him and threatened her, then changed it again to say she killed him in self-defense. • @@samhain1894 Also keep in mind that televised trials are often faked trials. What!! Yes, you have been subjected to fake incidents and subsequent faked trials, all as part of Operation Chaos. You can look up the program's history at Wikipedia, but it did not end in the 1970s like they claim. It continued and expanded to create fear and discord in America, and you have to admit it has been very successful! Everyone is living in an exaggerated state of fear for their safety, and suspicion of their fellow citizen. When you make everyone afraid you make them easy to control, and more likely to buy drugs, alcohol, therapy, and useless junk from Amazon. You also do more than Planned Parenthood could ever do to control the population size by making women and men hate each other and not form families. Historically, TV cameras were always unwelcome in the courtroom; judges were afraid of looking bad, and defense lawyers didn't want to prejudice any future juries their clients might face. But a few exceptions were made, and now the public thinks every trial is televised. Most people can't fathom that the intelligence agencies of their own country would go to all of this trouble and expense to subject them to psychological operations, but they do.

    • In fairness she shot him 10 times though....that's jail-worthy for sure and the lowest end of the sentence (20 years) is actually appropriate for the given crime. HOWEVER, should not be more than that, and it isn't murder-2... I am sympathetic to the defendant because hers, like so many sentences here, are (IMO) disproportionate and in many cases over-charged with too high a crime. Lots of these are 2nd-degree murder convictions but I can't see how - some of them are, but others are clearly manslaughter - this would probably be a *clear* example of voluntary manslaughter (a more serious case of it to be sure) based on what is provided. in Duarte's case as well - it is reckless homicide, which is the very top end of involuntary manslaughter with aggravating circumstances (so that you can get above the typical statutory max with no sympathy over it). That's two levels below murder-2. The court system is really messed up -throwing everyone in the same category if there is a remote chance the prosecutor can get a murder-2 conviction. That's not justice, that's borderline vengeance.

This case is way crazier than "he's a young man and she's an old woman so he must have been attacking her." It was recorded. He'd already been shot multiple times, he called 911, it's desperate and pretty harrowing. She shoots him more while he's on the phone with dispatch. Even if her life was genuinely in danger before the call, that is not called self-defense anywhere.

The man and the dog grew tired they were out so long and the husband had no knowledge of the gun at all. There was blood in every room through the house where Johnathan was chased and he was on the phone with 911 begging for help because he had already been shot and was shot again during the call after she hunted him down when he briefly got away. Gun shots were heard by the police when they pulled up to try to save him. He almost made it but the extra shooting killed him. Every one that knew him said he was funny and non violent and would deescalate situations at school with humor. Every one that knew him loved him and it was true about the drugs but not about him being a threat at all like she tried to claim. He was even shot in the back from running away from her. No matter what the amount, that farrrr exceeds "self defense" for a facking KID! And it's her own grandson! Secondly..... This whole bit about a "drug induced rage"... it's freaking marijuana! That is absolutely, positively not. even. a. thing! Scientific studies have long been proven that THC is NOT. ADDICTIVE. So we're not talking about a grown man going through some psychotic break after abruptly stopping cocaine, crystal meth, or anything hardcore for that matter. Granny just wasn't for the weed, it was against her rules.... Damn sure didn't necessitate a shooting, let alone an excessive shooting! Third... I'm seeing an awful LOT of "poor Grandma, the Mom is the one that should be sentenced!" Put your rage faces away, the specifics were not given as to why psycho granny had this CHILD. (And or a facking loaded gun in the car with him!) Remember, she was a school teacher, so she spent many years being well trained on HOW TO DEAL WITH KIDS. How to punish appropriately. Makes me wonder what her surviving students had to endure. Finally, all while keeping in mind that this witch SHOT. HER OWN. GRANDCHILD. MANY, MANY TIMES, I'll reiterate that we don't know exactly why she had the child, but even *IF* he was "dumped on her", which I doubt, she could have very easily... A: sent him back to his parent(s) B: sent him to juvie C: had him admitted to children's psych ward D: put him in "rehab" E: given him to the state Bottom line? Absolutely ZERO compassion for the Grandma of the year here. Too many options, and no way was she actually "fighting a kid to save her own life"... that would take one shot, maybe 2 if u missed. And there is absolutely no possible scenerio where I can see a grandmother pulling the car over with her grand CHILD in it, with a loaded gun, feeling any need to shoot if he's a kid and unarmed. SHE'S the one with the crystal clear rage issues!

    • I read that the mom and dad moved to another town and the kid wanted to finish school with his friends and the parents let him stay with his grandparents to finish out school instead of starting a new school in his last year. The grandmother was apparently very controlling and violent. She took shooting lessons without the grandpa knowing. I think I read the grandpa didn't even know grandma got a gun. Read that the grandpa was afraid of the grandmother. She sounds like a psycho or true narcissist. She emptied the gun in the teen, he crawled to call 911, she went to reload, then emptied it again in him while he was on with 911. She did this while the grandpa went out to walk the dog and she even asked him how long he would be gone. I know we all want to assume our experience or a common TV narrative is what occured here; that a drugged out grandson was a threat to his meek grandparents. I know I initially jumped to that conclusion, too. But the truth is what's important, not our assumptions based on our own past or TV shows depicting drugged out teens terrorizing their grandparents. This case goes against the norm. Now the mom of the kid not only lost him, but has to live with being slandered by people who are making assumptions about her.

    • @@EscapeFromCrazytown Granny used a Glock 17 (9mm) to shoot the kid. A "non-restricted magazine" Glock 17 holds 17 rounds and a "restricted magazine" Glock 17 holds 10 rounds. The police investigation shows she shot "at him" 9 times and "struck him" with six rounds. I've read conflicting articles stating he had been struck five times and some stating six times. Of course, all of the articles relay, "according to the autopsy" or "court records show." The actual autopsy report isn't available online. I can't find anything stating she performed two mag dumps into the kid. If, by your claim, she emptied her Glock 17 twice she would have fired 21 times if she used a "restricted magazine" (assuming she had one round in the chamber during the first mag dump) or 35 times if she used a "non-restricted magazine" (assuming she had one round in the chamber during the first mag dump). The murder occurred on May 9, 2012. As of today, Michigan does not have a "high capacity magazine" ban. That means all Glocks sold in Michigan come with "standard capacity" or "non-restricted magazines."

They will face the consequences of their actions because they have blemished their own souls and that is not something they can shake off. They made the choices that condemn them but you were an innocent and beloved by God who is your true Father as he is mine. Trauma is hard to live with I know, and my heart goes out to you x

  • This says Michelle Blair found out her older kids were molesting the younger ones but that was never proven. The word of a crazy woman who viciously abused all of her children is the only proof. The kids probably didn't do anything at all and if they did she should've taken the whole family for help. She was abused and it made her so hyper-sensitive that she thought it was happening. If you torcher anyone long enough they'll admit anything you tell them to.

That so called mom was molested as a child and it caused her to be so mentally ill she poured boiling water on that poor child until he lied and confessed.... I just meant that even if it had been true that a 8 or 10 yr old child did that to a sibling a decent parent would get help and counseling for the whole family. Kids don't do that to others unless something horrible has happened to them. Hurt ppl, hurt ppl.
