Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project! That old vintage knife I found at flea market as usual and bought for USD $1. At first sight the knife looks like a piece of metal and wood and I made decision to restore knife. First of all I disassembled knife and used electrolysis to remove all rusty and dirty from knife handle and blade. After washing, I found interesting stamp at the knife blade. Some symbols or words, if anyone knows what doesn't mean, please leave a comment, thanks! Further I polished knife and handle with sandpapers and polishing wheel. For knife handle I use copper and bronze rivets and very beautiful wood. I hope you enjoy this restoration video! Thank you so much for watching my video!
Sincerely, Alex. Thanks for attention!
Good luck and health to everyone! With best wishes, Alex!

Well my friend you did it again you sent this one out of the park very nice job on the steel but I think it's the handle that sets it off great job can't wait until the next one thank you Brian
Thank you so much Brian!!
"CH" means a "Складной Нож" - Folding Knife". "CH" - this is the soviet garden knife was manufactured in Vorsma - a tiny town in the Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia. Between 1954 and 1964.
Thank you for attention and information!
@@ScrewsAndTools Really nice work 👍
@@user-vp8fs8mp6o i wish I understood your language.
excellent - you gave the old boy a new life
Thank you!
Awesome.Good Man.Thanks.🇩🇪👍💪
Excellent job. Beautiful work.
СССР
You're getting better and better, keep going! 👍❤
WOW! I'm speechless.
Great work love to have it in my collection
Beautiful craftsmanship! Carry and use that knife with pride!
That was AWESOME
Excellent restoration!
This looks great 👍. It's more than just a pocket knife it's a pocket linoleum knife. It works great for cutting linoleum flooring. Things like cutting around corners and cutting out holes for things like heating vents and around pipes.
Thank you, sir!
Muchas gracias!
Apart from some gapping on the spine, a good job👍

Hello! Thank you!!
That reminded me of my uncle's knife back when I was a kid in the mid 70's He said it was called a hook blade Barlow.
Not far off.
I remember my dad had a knife like this one when I was a kid. It was a Barlow.

great job 🙏🏻 I'm subscribed 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much!!! ^_^
Well done my friend. 👌 like from me 👍
Wow, Amazing work once again. How do you do that? I tried to restore a knife like you do but I can't do like you do, see, you start at normal speed then things gets crazy fast and it'sall done in 10 to 15 minutes. I can't do that!!!... Whever I try I end up messing everything up and it takes me days with results nowhere good like yours. Joking apart, you are awesome and I appreciate all the time you put forth in every videos.
Thank you so much! I'm very appreciate!
Your accent is so cute 😍🙈 also amazing job it looks fantastic, the handle is a beautiful wood 👍🏻

Ahhh lemon tea
I love your simple restoratios and my husband loves electrolysis process in real time as long video. We also appreciate any mistakes and different attempts to repair given item to achieve best way of final restoration. Also I enjoy your realistic workshop not magically suddenly improved by far far ancestor legacy money out of nowhere but made by your hands and your talent and patience for these forgotten items. I like you suddenly do.not pull gas chromatograh to improve metal alloys or other hi tech instruments rasther restricted to universities or research labs like some restoration channels tries to evolve. What you create and restore inspires ordinary people to look in their households and rather repair an old knife or an old ax nobody used to chop wood with... instead buy new with shiny plastic handle which gets shit after 1 year I assume... I have said so much my brain overheats but it was good overheating because I learn many things from you like parience and respect to materials. Thank you very much hor all successes and failures you posted for us to learn!
Hello! Thank you for your nice words! I very appreciate!
The HC stamp is either Heritage Collectables/Homey Combe knives!
Great video, thank you. Just one question. How did you get rid of the longitudinal play of the blade?
New pins and cleaning and little sanding the mechanism.
There is a thing called a push stick for the band saw for safety
Nice work. Too bad you had to take so much off the blade, but that couldn't be helped, it was the only thing to do that made sense. I used to like these or similar for electrical work, especially stripping the insulation of wiring. They also make one with the hawkbill blade and a lodking flat screwdriver blade as well.
Hello sir, how are you? Thank you for attention. Yes that was one way to make flat cutting edge. My wife when saw this knife said: "It's for me?" and I said "Yes" :))
@@ScrewsAndTools mine dibs all the good kitchen knives I run across, but never the pocket knives.
Always amazing how electrolysis get all the rust. How long did it take in real time? Just the electrolysis, I mean.
Thanks for your attention. Approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
@@ScrewsAndTools is that all? Impressive.
@@uncle_thulhu Depending on the condition of the metal. But on average 20 minutes, sir.
Good job. Takes more patience than I've got. Just one question, what was the total time to complete it?
Greetings, thank you for your attention. Up to about 5 days at intervals.
👍👍👍
Glad you didn’t hurt yourself on that sander 😰
Thank you for attention, sir!) Yes...)
👍👌
Greetings from Germany. I've got the same knife. I don't know exactly who made it but i think it is made in Italy.
Hello, thank you for attention, sir.
Which knife/blade u used for removing handles? Picture?
Hello, I used this knife, restored too kzhead.info/sun/mtqOnbWGkKSwd6c/bejne.html
Hi, great work! I like doing things like that. Can you tell me what the name of the piece of wood is? I think it suits to every knife. It would be useful if you answer, because i want to use this type pf wood to. Thank you very much. Simon
I'm neither an expert, nor OP, but I'm reasonably confident it's walnut. I've got a bunch kicking around my garage that I use for miscellaneous projects, and it looks nearly identical.
@@eliasroos7185 okay thank you😉
What voltage/current do you use for the electrolysis?
Hello, here is a full my video tutorial about electrolysis kzhead.info/sun/jKyofdeSbJV3ioU/bejne.html
No sharpening? Good job by the way. 👍🏻
I do not think he re tempered the blade either🤔
The lemon tea did it for me
Thats a nice little anvil. How many pound is that?
Hello, thank you for attention. Weight of anvil in kg=2.6, pounds=5.7
You are not a fool everyone has accidents just be blessed your fingers didn't hit the sander that would have really been an ouch.
