I, for one, love Sam. Especially the phrases he uses before making his daily double wagers. Too bad Colby got a tough draw tonight though.
I am 67 and Sam is close to my age and I feel as though he represents the elderly everywhere and the potential for great playing on Jeopardy at any age.

Sam Buttrey legitimately is one of my absolute favorite Jeopardy contestants. I mean, honestly, what's not to love about him?
In recent memory, and most winning contestants leave me in a day or two, I don’t remember ever liking a JEOPARDY winner as much as I like Sam. Every episode when they’re down to the final clue on the board I hear “Bring it” in my mind. I’m disappointed when a player doesn’t say it. He’s just the best.
Yay for Sam. I thought this was an easy final, but whenever I actually know one I think it was easy. lol

As a children's librarian, I couldn’t have shown up at work tomorrow if I didn’t get this correct. I’m not so in to these fantasy books, but to each their own.😊
I overthought the clue tonight. I remember the book that was referenced in the explanation on the correct response. I should have known it was tied to that book.
It's funny that you mention not being into the fantasy books. C.S. Lewis wrote this series at a time when many critics and teachers didn't think that children would be interested in reading fantasy novels, thinking that they needed books that would help them relate to real life.
@@markp7262yes, a lot of books from that era had a moral to preach to the kids. Now we know a lot of kids like fantasies like Narnia, Harry Potter, or even just Polar Express or Jumanji.

Fun Fact: In Sam Buttrey’s last appearance, he wore that yellow sweater and lost to Matt Amodio, while everyone knew he was eliminated from last year’s “Jeopardy! Masters”. This time, he wears that yellow sweater and he won.

@@kentekuzan True. I guess the WW2 setting being dwarfed by Narnia for the majority of the novel did it in for me. Besides the fantasy elements, Narnia blends Middle Ages and a post 1600s era as well.

Had to read the clue about three times before I finally "clued" in!! GOt it before time expired, though!
I would have been completely embarrassed had I not gotten this one. My 9-year-old daughter and I listen to the entire series radio dramatization in the car, on the way to and from school (not just this series, we rotate a bunch of them). I also used to own the old boxed set, BEFORE they changed the order. I think one of my sisters confiscated it for their family at some point. Now I have to settle for the new version set.

I love Sam Buttry! Glad he did so well. But, please, only one tournament once a year, to determine the best player in a given year. Please....we like to see people like ourselves, not the same winners over and over, like groundhog day. Best not to mess with a successful show.

What is Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe by CS Lewis one of the 7 books of Chronicles of Narnia. This one was easy.
Actually it was looking specifically for the title object, so just "wardrobe" would have been correct, not the entire book title.
