Adrenaline and being in the middle of fight makes you do crazy ish
And so does being a psycho
I was thinking the same thing honestly his corner man failed him in that situation bc why the hell would you tell him to knee him
I guess they had a bad angle or got confused cause each athletic commission has different rules for what a downed opponent is.
Yan finishes Sterling in any rematch. The guy is a mini-terminator - seriously 'no mercy'.
The guy will be furious, he will kill him
@@djdoomy he's relentless - u'd have to decapitate him to stop him.
@Ilya let's be honest - he's not exactly tall, and he's way smaller than The Terminator!
@Ilya yeah, I guess for his weight class, Yan isn't that small tbh.
Exactly. Yan is a certified banger. Sterling will meet the reaper in a rematch.
I just love the way Dana responds to "was the knee intentional"
Dana Red stepping in for this one that Abu Dabi sun got this mans 😂
The dumb knee questions 🤦♂️
Sometimes we do stupid shit. No further explanation. That happens to everyone.
Lmao it's not an argument on weather the shot was illegal, that much is clear. Only if it was intentional.
No we all know it was intentional, the question is if he intended to cheat or it was just a lapse in judgement
Dana also clearly said .... might be frustration, but Petr was clearly taking control and winning that fight, I agree with original poster .... sometimes we do stupid shit
Petr Yan should get an automatic rematch.
Why? The champ can fight whoever he wants. Yan messed up
He will get the rematch
@@arthurcox227 excuses. He knows he would get crushed.
@@travis6694 aged like milk
@@travis6694 still champ
Sterling didn't win the fight but was crowned champion? The fight should have been declared no contest and be repeated at a later date.
Yeah but an illegal move that quite affects UFCs reputation for hosting fighters who don't know the rules can't be left unpunished. This isn't only about Aljo faking it (which he kinda did), but also a mistake that quite requires a consequence in order to raise awareness to the rest of the fighters in UFC.
I totally agree Sterling is a fake champion.
I think it's about time the ufc change their course about rules about knees, elbows those kind of stuff. I think they have to legalized those things as long as it doesn't lands behind the head and and what about those constant eye poking hahaha those should be strictly banned with greater consequences.
Give back petr yan his belt he was dominating the fight
Sterling is now by definition a cartoon tiger 🐯
If he was starting to break Sterling down then why the win , should've been a no contest.
it's inconsistent, different result with dp vs eddie
Because they said it was intentional
because he threw the most illegal knee the ufc has ever seen on purpose and nearly knocked a guys head off dont be dumb it was clearly a disqualification.
Personally I think yan should've been stripped instead of giving the belt to aljo then rematch for the gold but what do I know
@@Mcfc2Rich it obviously wasn't intentional. He was waiting for his hands to go up to hit him. He didn't know it was illegal. Biggest BULLSH!T decision Ever !
So if the fight were to continue would they have deducted 2 points from Yan? If so, Sterling would have been winning the fight on the cards going into the 5th. Up on one card and tied on 2.
No one wants to see a fight end like that but you also don't know the effect it has on the fighter who was on the receiving end. I've seen fighters continue after a illegal knee and go lights out the next time they get hit so to me if your head isn't clear immediately after a blow like that you shouldn't continue. As Yan's corner man stated the ref went to the locker room and clearly explained the rule, also he said we was telling him to only throw punches.
Looks like DW is having a lurking health problem or two.
so he threw the fight with the knee for a rematch,More money!
Not for money he wants to kill sterling.
Wrestlers have such a huge advantage because of that, take that rule out and watch em get kneed in the face left and right
That is a rule that has to be there or they would lose their license. You can do way more damage with a knee to a grounded opponent than you think. Same with strikes to he back of the head. There are reasons these moves are not allowed.
We could say the same about the fact that the fighters are stood up at the beginning of each round, why don't they make a rule that if the round finished with you on the ground, you start on the ground, since it is clearly an advantage for the strikers!!!
Take the rule out and wrestlers will be kneeing people in the face left and right. Knees to grounded opponents benefit wrestlers more than any other rule.
Actually the opposite. They have a disadvantage bud
@@parkermontalbano1905 Except there were martial arts organizations where knees to grounded opponents were legal, and it benefited wrestlers more than anybody else. You can armchair quarterback all night long, or you can load up some Pride FC and educate yourselff.
Petr said that he was focused on the hand rule and missed his knee
Yeah. It was an unintentional foul. Biggest BULLSHIT, Disgrace disqualification decision EVER !
@@tjp_real no. It was definitely the right call to DQ him. What are you crazy?
iys been over a year now no rematxh?
I hate when interviewers talk over people
The rules are not clear. Nevada has a hybrid rule. And someone from Petr Yan's corner instructed him to throw the knee.
dana's not too fussed about the knee, he's happy, the rematch will be bigger - but it was an amazing fight anyway, petre yan is a fucking beast. im a new fan, champ or not, illegal or not, he is a proper fighter, with ridiculous skills.
Yup was just thinking that!
NO MERCY
The DQ was a good call. What is weird is asking the fighter and putting them in a position where they have to choose between a disgraceful win and a loss.
You have to always take the honorable loss instead of becoming a piece of shit champion. Is the only way for a mediocre fighter to wear the belt.
@@JB-ir3isaljo is not mediocre 😂
@@johnurso3020 Big facts, he's not mediocre. He's a crushed can.
Performance of the night aljamain Sterling
Ufc 262 is the rematch I’m calling it
Considering Yan was winning, should have been ruled a no contest. That's punishment enough. That title is completely meaningless right now.
No contest would mean he would keep the title. If that was the case then the champion would do this anytime they weren't sure if they would win. That's trash
It's meaningless until he defeats Yan (if he can).
@@almostkinda I suppose, it's not like Yan would have won another title or made the defense though. We'd be at the same place, a rematch.
No contest but stripped Yan of his tittle, leaving the seat vacant. That would've also been a fair punishment without rewarding the other guy unfairly
Curly boy is real paper champ.
Cheater Yan is a big fat joke, he lost to the 3rd island boy Sean O Malley.
Some of you are saying he was winning the entire fight. LOL!! He wasn't. He was coming back and beginning to take control of the fight when he threw the knee.
Not "some of you" but "everyone who has eyes"
Dana, you are real, truthful, no bull shit, they got you wrong, sir, they show you wrong, you are real.I was not a believer, now I am.
The fighter didn't punch Aljermain. He threw the knee
I'm still trying to understand how the title changes hands on a dq. In boxing , if something like that happened they usually go to the scorecards after a minimal amount of rounds are in . If the victim is winning on the scorecards , he's declared the winner . I'm not sure if that applies to title changes though because off hand I can't think of any and thats a longer history then the ufc. There should have been a dq with immediate rematch asap but no title change and with all the people pissed about the decision you think Dana might rethink that rule . As for people criticizing Sterling , do you honestly think anyone would deliberately fake hurt just to win a title that way. Try taking a knee to any part of the head by a world champion mma fighter and see how you get up . Stupid ruling though and pure bush league .
Not correct. Roy Jones lost his belt on DQ.
Saludos!!
Sterling is not down because of contact, he stayed down and took a rest. It sucks that Yan give him a knee, why? Oh Why? But Sterling know he will be beat to death on the rematch which his scared of right now
I don’t get the hate for Aljo. I don’t like the guy, but Yan should be the one to blame. He threw the illegal knee, not Aljo. When Jones kneed Smith, everyone was commending his bravery but many were saying how he should’ve taken the dq win.
Man what Dana needs to be concerned about is these fighters stalling fights like Sterling was doing by staying on his knees and ass. F Sterling
It was a frantic and fast paced fight from the beginning, imo petr just threw it out of instinct, I could be wrong
He was waiting for him to raise his hand to hit him. He didn't realize it was illegal. "Intentional foul" and disqualification is the biggest BULLSHIT decision EVER !
@@tjp_real I agree, DONT even get me started with sterling fake whining
@@giga_chad9 if the reff didn't call a DQ due to "intentional foul" he could act all night. Yan would have still kept his belt. The "intentional foul" is the Elephant in the room here.
@@tjp_real yeah man, some info also fake out saying that he asked his corner if he should kick and they said yea
@@giga_chad9 what ever it was, it was obviously unintentional and that decision was MAJOR bullshit.
Why is it called ultimate then? You can elbow a head but can’t knee? P
How much can you bench, how much can you leg press?
Knees and kicks to the head end fights pretty quick and would make the sport look unprofessional being able to hit a down opponent, yeah you could do it in pride, but it makes the sport loos less professional with rules like that
That's what UFC agreed upon in order be sanction by fight commissions
@@bladebrown8261 you can still do the gary goodridge crucifix elbow. Not much more brutal than that.
@@bladebrown8261 he was squatting not laying
His corner was yelling for him to throw the knee. Silly guys.
Nope wrong. Noone yelled that there.
@@Alexamdern: My bad. Must have been thinking of another fight. 😬
@@bigdudedanny4005 His corner was yelling hit him, just use the hands and yes. Yan kneed him when he raised his hands because he thought it was okay when he was kneeling.
Khabib who was there claims that he heard someone from his corner yell kick.
Sterling got ko'd by knee from Marlon Moreas just saying, could be his weekness
I think a knee to the temple is everyone’s weakness
@@wilabanodeniro9780 I agree on the impact of physical damage, what I meant is some fighters have good defense from those kind of strikes. I pointed out that that has happened to him before. If I was betting money on a fight he is in and the guy up against him is known for throwing knees I might put that into consideration. Again I see what you mean, I would've been killed from a knee like that lol
That's fucking illegal.
Too bad ufc couldn't have pride division or something with those rules.
I don't get why some people are more upset with Sterling than they are at Yan. Sterling can't be blamed for any of this, he took too much damage from a foul and could not continue. If the fight wasn't stopped for that foul it would be TKO or KO immediately. This is Yan's fault.
The fighters and ppl hate fake shit, Yan did a mistake, why would he throw an illegal blow then he was winning? He's not that crazy. He admitted it, that's all. Sterling acted bad, and still acting like a coward. That's Yan fault but Sterling destroyed his image
@@Eghix I don't see how how 'he acted bad'. Why would he get up to continue the fight if: 1) he was told to stay down 2) he'd taken so much damage he would not be able to finish the fight He was doing ok on the judge's scorecards, but after a knee like that he wouldn't even make it to a decision, so why get up? he's only responding badly to people now because he's got a million nasty little shits harassing him on twitter. Blame Yan, the cheater, not Sterling. Why did he throw that knee? Only he knows that, maybe he's just a psycho or an idiot?
Agreed, Sterling looked like a whiplash victim in the slo-mo replay. Plus, he left the belt in the octagon as a gesture that this is not how he wants to be champion. I don’t know what more people want out of Sterling.
@@mmaweekly , people want him stop bitching...
I think its because of the overwhelming russian bias and to do with the fact that MMA fans get to emotional about this shit. Its the same thing with the Yan - O'malley verdict. Yeah it was close, but o'malley pieced him up and defended good against Yans ground game. Yan needs to earn a win,not have his immature fanbase cry everytime he loses. And I like Yan too as well as the people hes fought.
It's crazy to me people calling him an actor... Dude's head was just plowed by an illegal fucking knee. ILLEGAL technique for a reason. Permanent damage or not, he was going to be compromised for the remainder of the fight. Absolutely idiotic for ANYONE to continue on that way, being compromised in a fight from an illegal knee, which was definitely quite hard. Maybe he was being over dramatic but it definitely fucking hurt for sure lol
Bad hit not fkn debilitating tho
Ok, but to disqualify Yan and give him the belt was BIGGEST BULL 💩💩💩 Ever ! It was unintentional foul.
@@tjp_real Should've been a NC. It was literally intentional
@@tsenif it was literally unintentional. He would not wait for his hands to go up to hit him if it was intentional. Also he was dominating and was about to KO that 🤡
According to Khabib Nurmagomedov, he claims to have heard someone in Yan’s corner instruct him to kick. Regardless, Yan is in control of his own faculties. He threw the kick.
Why would he purposely lose that fight?I mean a 3 yr old knows that's a disqual:(
Yan shouldn't have cheated. Got what he deserved. Now he doesn't have a belt now. That's tuff. Maybe he won't cheat next time. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
He didn't cheat. He was fucking him up. I believe he was getting too carried away
Why would he wait for his hands to go up to hit him if it was "intentional" ? Just Fu** off, UFC bot.
@Rashidi the speedy ellis is the best yeah. I feel the DQ definitely should have happened and he should have got the winners purse. But not the belt
You are weak man also :)
this just shows you why alja isn't a true champion
I don’t think Yan deserves a rematch. It was a deliberate illegal strike. He should have been stripped and made to fight someone else once or twice. BUT! I don’t agree with just giving sterling the belt. He didn’t do anything to earn it and he knows it. But anyway easy solution is a bantamweight tournament but who knows
If I'm TJ Dillashaw I'd be telling Dana I'm next. Yan cheated, TJ cheated and had to wait out 2 years but Yan gets immediate rematch? This is number one bull shit.
Fake champion.. Oscar nomination..👍
