    • Exactly! I thought it was it funny when I first saw this in 07. I thought this story was about the Coach and how media doesn't take him seriously. But I come back now and understand the story now. It's about the character/talent of an athlete twisted by the media. The "I'm a man" comment was just taken out of context for comic relief. But now I appreciate and respect this coach and wish we had more vocal people like this especially today.

He would eventually transfer out of OSU, holding Gundy in utter contempt. Reid's own Mother likewise had a strong dislike for Gundy. Lot of strange twists to this story.

I take that as a testament of how horrific of an impact mainstream media must have on the United States. unless you're really there, there is no trustworthy way to get the story straight.

  • It's 2023. Mike Gundy has been at Oklahoma State for 19 years. Overall record 163-78. Conference record 100-63. One Big XII championship. Bowl record 11-6, including two Fiesta Bowl wins -- only year his Cowboys didn't qualify was his first year as coach. Teams like Gundy's Cowboys are one of the things that make college football so special. They're not heavyweights, and never have been. They've spent a lot of their time in Oklahoma's shadow. But god, they make it fun. You cannot overlook a Gundy-coached team no matter how good you think you are. Shout out to Coach Gundy, one of the all-time greats.
