Ryan is naturally in the 160s… he cut least 20+ lbs… 3 pounds overweight after that cut shouldn’t be an issue in fact it should’ve made him slower than Haney but unfortunately he had the speed/power/ and most hits during the whole fight.

He’s naturally in the 160s… he cut at least 20+ lbs 3 pounds overweight after that cut shouldn’t be an issue in fact it should’ve made him slower than Haney but unfortunately he had the speed/power/ and most hits during the whole fight.

Haney was not ''clearly the smaller guy'' he rehydrates up to 165 pounds and Ryan was 155-160 which is much heavier than he usually is. Haney fans are the last fans on the planet who should be making size excuses when he's literally never fought anyone close to his size. He weighed 9lbs more for his 140 debut than career 140 pounder Prograis weighed against him and Prograis is a big 140 pounder. Where was all the talk about size when Haney weighed 20lbs more than Lomachenko with a six inch reach advantage and a 36 hour weigh in? And Loma fought him in his backyard with a home ref and three home judges who ever so predictably, as they always do in the US, robbed the foreigner. he corruption we saw on full display last Saturday night where the ref robbed Garcia of a KO win, more KDs, allowed Haney to hug and hold like crazy from first bell to last which he should've been DQ'd for, and deducted a point of Garcia for hitting on the break due to sheer frustration at Haney holding him like crazy is the same corruption we saw from the three US judges in the Lomachenko fight.

I'm assuming you've never done a weight cut, because if you had, you would know that losing those last 3 pounds at the end of a camp is 10x harder than the 20 pounds that came before. Those last 3 pounds are everything you have, and they lead to people passing out on the scale sometimes. I still think Ryan wins, I think everyone hopped off the hype train because of one loss to Tank (and everyone loses to Tank), but the three pounds matter.

Three extra pounds is not going to make that big a difference. Especially, when Haney is notorious for being a weight bully after he rehydrates. Garcia just gave him a taste of his own medicine. Made it look easy. Haney should have lost the Lomachenko fight. Haney was much bigger than Loma. It looked like a super welterweight against a flyweight, yet Loma pushed him around most of the fight.

Man foh with the weight ish.. Haney after rehydration weigh in over 26lb against progrias and loma (loma beat haney brw despite hm Haney weigh fight night robbery) but he met his match! All these smaller fighter Haney try to bully he finally fought someone his size and got beat! Another thing ppl probably don’t realize is that Haney has problems with fighters that has fast hands linares,loma and Ryan but Ryan had speed and power and Haney fought someone he couldn’t push around

Not sure Devin can bounce back from that. Should have been stopped when he was crawling in the canvas. He was out. Seriously hurt. He was stumbling after that fight. He got damaged in there. He was dead on the scales. I mean he looked dead. So yeah. It matters. Fighters and Manager need to think twice about fighting a dude over weight when you kill yourself making it. This could have been tragic.
