  • The way that Poseidon was framed in the beginning where just his arms resting and waist above the water. He looked almost like he was at a swimming pool, resting his elbows on the side of the pool having a pleasant conversation. But then you realize how big he is, how much he towers over him. It was amazing.

    • @@Sergei_Ivanovich_MosinA big reason why Poseidon would have preferred Odysseus to have killed Polyphemus. If he died, then he would be gone. Poseidon has loads of children. But with him merely blinded, well, now he's telling people what Odessues did. He's praying to Poseidon for revenge. If Poseidon refuses his call, then he's abandoning his child, and saying anyone can walk right over him. If his son merely died then there would be no one to spread the word of who bested him.

  • I've said it before, I'll say it again. I love when the greek gods are 'inhuman' in the way they look. This version of Poseidon isn't just angry, he's genuinely, terrifyingly, _eldritch._ He _is_ a force of nature, he _is_ water, he _is_ anger. The threats he make are all hypotheticals, but he demonstrates, very easily, that they are not beyond him. You have a talent for timing and creativity (I love the little water-stream-thing Poseidon turns into) and we all know that it's going to be good when Wolfy posts.

  • He looks very sure of himself, like he knows what he’s doing is so cool. I love his confident look. When he says “Get in the water” it’s said as a command, and through water manipulation he pushes Odysseus into the water. He’s obviously stronger than him, physically dominating with water manipulation, but besides being physically stronger, he’s also emotionally stronger. He manipulates both water and emotions, dominating the conversation by making it less of a conversation and more of giving orders, using blackmail and forcing Odysseus. I also love how you drew him holding eye contact with Odysseus, there is no fear in his eyes, he looks stern and emotionless, while Odysseus looks terrified.

The behind the scene commentary had the creators saying that they designed her ephemeral nature by the logic that her body was 'a slave to her thoughts', basically it morpheds and changed entirely on her whims. It could be solid one minute, and the next she's basically a dust cloud you could walk through, human sized one moment, and a giant the next. I feel a lot of similarities with this depiction of Poseidon, the only difference is how he is portrayed as an elemental of water.

Posiedon is usually never villianized enough in media despite the fact he did way more evil than Hades, who gets villainized way more. While most animatic portray Posiedon just as someone who happened to get on his bad side because of Odysseus, I like that you portrayed him as the sadistic power-God he truly is. He is Odysseus' biggest threat, and he feels like that in this animatic. I'm not exactly sure if you are going to do "Ruthlessness", but I can't wait to see that one as well. Exceptional job!

    • Eh, most of the time in the myths, Poseidon come across as fairly responsible dude. Kinda the peacemaker between the different gods, one of the few that can get Zeus to behave. He is fairly good at protecting his lovers/rymes with grapes victims, from shenanigans and reward them. He is willing to do a lot if you just ask him. Of course when upset he becomes as cruel as the ocean can be, but it's come across as justified. His beef with Odysseus is litterly over him mutilating his child, it's hard to find a more justified reason to be upset with a guy. But Poseidon cruelty has limits, Odysseus is still only one of very few greek heroes that get's a happy ending. Similarly when Athene selected Athena over him as their patron god, he should have easily sunk the entire city into the sea, like what he did was Atlantis, with Athena being unable to do anything to stop the much more powerful Poseidon, but he didn't do it. He is more active and mythological much older then Hades so yes, he come across as more evil then Hades, who was given a bad hand by synchronisation with Christianity. But Hades in the myth possible also portrayed as being nicer then he actually was worshipped as. Hades was a figure the greek where so scared off they didn't even reference to him by name. But called him stuff like the ever welcoming father, the man that recieve many guest, etc. so there is a possibility that they avoided writing his myth in a way that might displease hades. Like how the persephone myth goes out of it way to not blame Hades for it.

And of the gods you should be raped by, then Posidon is one of the better options. Because after the act, he is willing to do nearly anything you ask him. And as you can see here, he is rather overprotective father. So any kids from your union will be well protected and well off. Compared to other gods *cough* Apollo *cough* Zeus * cough* Aphrodite, Poseidon is an outright gentleman. It dosen't mean it right of course, but in the contest of the mythology he is in, he is one of the nicer gods. As for Medusa it depends a bit on what myth you go with, the earliest source of her being raped is a Roman source. Written by Ovid, who had some serious issues with authorities, and is believed to have rewriting myths as a form of critic of the roman emperors. Greek myth either has her consent or doesn't state it at all, or she had nothing to do with Posidion at all. Funny enough the oldest myth we have of Posidion and Medusa relationship, has Medusa already being a monster when they sleep together.

  • I always love how you make your god designs so human to the left. Especially towards the end here. He's still human-ish...but he's more storm than man. And on top of that how you animated the water is so incredible. It flows like water but it also is controlled by this giant guy. I love it

  • Its been said before. But i love how inhuman you make the gods. Athena was stiff and moved like an owl. In contrast Posidon here is like a humanoid wave and moves as such. It adds an unsettling aspect to them. They arent human, only putting on a slightly human face to get what they want.

  • I love when Poseidon grabs Odysseus like NOTHING and just chokes/drowns him as Poseidon is water itself! And when Odysseus sees himself in the trident and THE LOOK of PURE fear in his eyes is so amazing. The way you draw them and the way that you made the heights of each of them look so different makes everything so.. UGH I can’t even explain it! And how Poseidon is punishing Odysseus for having way too much mercy and disrespecting the gods also gives you a perspective of how the Gods weren’t as merciful as humans in general. The gods wanted death and blood to be splashed and spread across like in the Gods battle when Ares is fighting with Athena over if they should release Odysseus or not. The gods giving a lesson to Odysseus ending with him becoming a complete NIGHTMARE for his own town is just stunning. Can’t wait till the musical to be fully released so we can listen to these amazing bangers and see more of your animations! 💕💕🫶🫶

  • Oh my god I love everything about this! 💯The design of Poseidon - he's not just the God of the Ocean, he is the literal embodiment of it! The way the power dynamic is so so very clear, that Poseidon is almost playing with Odysseus. Poseidon is a god and Odysseus, as clever as he is, is still 🎵just a man🎵 trying to reason with the embodiment of the cruel brutality of the open ocean. And god the amount of personality shown by that one head tilt "get in the water" 🤌🤌🤌

  • When I was young and obsessed with Greek Mythology, Poseïdon and Athena were my favorites. I was pretty much pissed off that every media picturing and designing them were horrible. Alway making Athena a sexy woman instead of a warriors and poseidon a sexy business looking man rather than a violent pervert. All of that being said, THANK YOU FOR GIVING THEM THE JUSTICE THEY DESERVE.

  • I just want you to know, this is what introduced me to Epic the musical (and an afternoon of crying). So I'm saying I had NO context about what was happening, but your art was so good... That by the first "Get in the water" my blood went cold. The song is so threatening too, because I loved the part "You have lived *more than enough!"* Cuz how do you argue against a god that just told you that??? So after (several replays of) this, I went to look up other songs, saw your other animatics, and holy shit are you talented. So many decisions by your enigmatic makes them stand out, but besides the heartbreaking "Just a Man" (the baby and the helmet symbolism killed me), honestly my favorite is When Odysseus speaks with Circe, the very way he approaches in the beginning seconds immediately tells you what kind of man he is, to saunter between a serpent wrapped pillar and lion, casually feeling the pillar between the coils as he approaches Circe. No one else gives their animated Odysseus the same vibe, and you carry it throughout the whole animatic. Just...thank you for your work. Made for a very eye-opening and entertaining (and heartbreaking) evening.

  • I think the way this was animated manages to make Poseidon scarier, because like... he clearly doesn't NEED Odysseus to get in the water here. He's grabbing him and pulling him around on a whim. If all he wanted was to drown Odysseus, he could just DO that. But he isn't, because it's not enough for him to just kill Odysseus. He's demanding that Odysseus drown HIMSELF.

  • I love the progression. In "Ruthlessness" Poseidon was just doing his job, it wasn't personal... until Odysseus MADE it personal, and this is the result. At first Poseidon is almost calm, he's like "We both know how this is gonna go down. Let's get on with it" especially with his expression at 0:36. But the moment Odysseus says "No" in any context is when he starts screaming, and the visual touch of him getting wilder and less human is so so great. This is no longer a god doing his job and answering a supplicant, nothing personal. This is now a god who's been scorned; everything personal.
