Some French chateau, an enormous building, was pointed with a pressurized system. I have also seen the use of what look like large pastry piping bags to deliver a continuous bead of mortar under pressure. This job may be too small. The result is lovely and a visual and functional return to its early appearance. Thanks.

Really nice editing and explaining everything about the process. Now I just need a brick building to try it out.

Just a quick note, cutting discs for angle grinders would work but they make "thick disc" for 4 / 4.5 inch grinders..... It's specifically for grout and old mortar joints. A tuck point diamond blade it's called. A good investment... lasts forever

A mortar rake? They don't last forever....especially on old tough engineering bricks.

Progressing very well. Very time consuming to repair the chimney but will be so nice to have it usable.

If you are going to be doing a lot of pointing, check out Quickpoint mortar guns. You could repoint that whole place in a couple of days with one.

It depends on the mix, I couldn't use a gun with the mix I use. Sand cement and plastiseser will work💯. But not all lime mortars.

@benllewellyn1887 while I have zero data regarding its inclusion, I use a splash of Dawn dish soap as my plasticizer. It's worked for me with both lime mortars, as well as type K, N, and S.
