A NEW LIFE FOR A BEAUTIFUL STATUE!
This is Part 2 of one of our happiest ever Cadeaux at the Chateau videos! In Part 1 last week, we reveal the winner of the Lalande Scholarship at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa, Mmakhotso Moloi. This has only been possible because of all of you who watch these videos, so a huge thank you to all of you. This week we continue unwrapping thoughtful and unusual gifts, and reveal Philip's repair of the beautiful, broken statue that we received ion part one.

We will be donating a weekend stay at the Chateau de Lalande to the winner!
In 'Cadeaux at the Chateau', all of the inhabitants of the Chateau de Lalande gather together to open beautiful gifts that people have sent from all over the world. All of the monetisation from these videos will be donated to a different charity each month. KZhead earnings fluctuate wildly each month, as ad revenue changes throughout the year. Here are the charities that we've donated to so far:
July 2020:
British Heart Foundation UK (in memory of my father) €634
August 2020:
Alzheimer's Research UK (in memory of all of the residents of my parents' nursing homes) €350
September 2020:
Prostate Cancer Foundation (in memory of Selmar's father) €1255
October 2020:
Medecins sans Frontieres (chosen by my mother to support vaccinations in Africa) €942 (equivalent to 426 cholera vaccinations)
November & December 2020 & Jan 2021:
A Lalande Fashion Scholarship for a student at the Villioti Fashion Institute in South Africa €5500
I used to show the gifts as part of 'The Chateau Diaries' episodes, but you're all so very generous that we have many gifts, and if we spent the episodes opening them, we wouldn't be able to show you other aspects of chateau life! So, for those of you who enjoy watching presents being opened, and as a way to thank those of you who were kind enough to send them, I've made this new channel. Every week we will film your beautiful gifts whilst enjoying afternoon tea or aperitif together.
It is very important to me that you know that we in no way expect anyone to send us gifts. I would like to go further than that and add that, if doing so will put you in any financial difficulty whatsoever, please, please do not send us anything. Knowing that you join us by watching 'The Chateau Diaries' gives us all an enormous boost. But for those of you who have sent these incredibly thoughtful gifts, I hope that seeing us open them gives you a fraction of the joy that you've given us, and that by monetising this channel for charity we can pass on that joy to others 💖💖💖
If you would like to see more of our life at the chateau, please go to our main 'Chateau Diaries' channel:

The statue found his place, back to France, in the right place.... a chapel. Love it, greetings from Marie
Phillip deserves the sweets for doing such a great job with the precious statue 😊 so many lovely gifts, as usual ❤️
He always has a big appetite and is always eager to help.
What a beautiful dedication Donna made to her friend allowing her to continue her world travels in spirit by having her favourite flowers grown in Lalande. Stephanie's kindness and compassion always shines through so we can be rest assured she'll ensure that the sunflower seeds are planted in memory of Donna's friend. 💛🌻 Great job Philip on fixing Joseph, looking forward to seeing how you get on with putting Humpty back together again 🤣🍳
A beautiful job on the statue. He's a talented guy. He can fix anything.
The sunflower seed letter made me cry....
Same.
me too
I was amazed with Stephanie remembering the pink material matching the green tissue paper.
@@Rebecca-dm5ul I never saw it on the walls.
I frequently sing songs I last heard on TV when I was maybe 5, yet I can’t remember the conversation I had with my sister yesterday! Memory is a funny thing.
Phillip is so awesome
I wish Philip got a gift once in awhile!
Yes he is also so funny
Philip, u r just adorable...never change...u r perfect
Yes the world needs more like him.
Nattie, your hair looks adorable.
Donna's letter moved me to tears. What a beautiful, thoughtful friend. The sunflowers I plan to plant this year I too will plant in her memory here in Nevada USA. I lost my father to cancer and work in Oncology as well and it just moved me so much.
🙏🏻❣️🙏🏻
So thrilled you loved my paintings, I can't tell you how much joy your Vlogs bring to me Stephanie thank you and team Lalande xx
Those paintings are so lovely! I’m so glad that you moved beyond your hesitation and sent them, and I’m delighted that they were shared on camera for all of us to see and appreciate!
I liked them too. Wall worthy definitely in a frame🙂
I am so glad you send your painting and the card you made. You are very talented, and they will make wonderful additions to the art gallery at LaLande.
💗💗💗
@@kimberlyguerra4283 Kimberly that is incredibly kind of you to say, thank you so much.
Wow! Yet again the gift givers have offered up such beautiful surprises and well thought out presents. It makes the world seem like a less scary place knowing how many lovely people are out there who are so generous with their time, talents and love. I love the good hearted ribbing Phillip gets. He really is a lovely young man. I loved the silver necklace. I never knew you could crochet silver either! The Christian Dior hatbox is a treasure in and of itself not to mention the gifts inside it. The large table cloth is so delicate and stunning it could almost serve as a veil for a bride. Thanks again for all the fun.
Philip, you're so cute eating that leftover chocolate hahaha! Just like me when I was a kid and my grandma cooked candied coconut!
General comment about Cadeaux at the Chateau: I love how you ALWAYS show immense, personalized gratitude for gifts, no matter what they are or from whom they are received. You ooh and aah over every single gift, no matter what they are, no matter how simple or grandiose, no matter how tasteful or tacky! It makes me reflect on and regret how I have from time to time been less than a gracious recipient of gifts. Thank you for your excellent example and reminder of how to say Thank You!
Donna’s gift of sunflower seeds brought tears to my eyes. I look forward to seeing them in all their glory in the gardens of LaLand.🌻🌻
the silver necklace is absolutely beautiful - how clever and talented
That was so moving the sunflower seeds story....🥺 And that Christian Dior hat box with its content! Just wow! 🤩
Another great gift opening! The sunflower seed tribute almost had me in tears. I too love sunflowers. If you grow the sunflowers this year, maybe you can save some of the seeds from the head and replant next year so that the tribute continues on year by year! Sad that it was Philips last day but glad to hear he’s back...where he belongs in my humble opinion! He is a huge asset to all you do at Lalande, repairing the statue of St Joseph was some feat! He deserved the left over chocolate as a reward! X🌻🌻🌻
The Wedgewood pieces are so small and delicate. The perfect place to display them would be in the newly renovated powder room. The walls could be painted in the softest of blue and a creamy white trim everywhere along with crisp white linens. A Little bling in the chrome of the sink hardware and faucet and chandelier, a little rustic in the stone floor, and a little refinement with the display of Wedgewood.
Wonderful idea!
Wonderful evening watching and delighted the statue is in the chapel. Well done Philip. 👏👏
Stephanie no one is your equal at gift opening! you raise it to an art form.
Judging by the dress of the statue, it is definitely St. Joseph. Just a little touching up with paint and it's fabulous. You can do that as well, Philip, you've got the talent and the knowlegde!!
And a very steady hand (referring to him dealing with very small pieces when he put the statue back together - impressive Phillipe)
Wonderful work on the restoration of the statue, Phillip. You are a person of many remarkable talents! I always love when you play Pachelbel's Canon in D also! Thank you! 💗
I was going to say the same. Searching for images of St. Anthony of Padua and he is consistently in a Franciscan friar's robe. Philip really is painstaking about doing repairs.
Tassels of that size and beauty are pretty expensive, nice gift. Same with Philips tray, beautiful. Thanks to all of you and your chearfulness during this tuff time for the world. My snowdrops bloomed and the tulips are pushing their way up to the sun🌷💐🌼🌻🌸☀️🌻🌻🌻🌻
My orange tree started to show blossoms...white with the most wonderful aroma ...
Hurry back Phillip, you will be missed. Hope all willl be well with your family. Jenny, it's lovely to have you at LaLande. Thank you to Stephanie and all the LaLanders, where ever you are. Take care all
Each box held treasure today, all beautiful in so many ways.Love and Remembrance 🌻❤️ Art, Vintage couture, vintage fabrics and jewels . But the real treasure are the connections from all parts of the world.💜
It's International Woman's Day, and the socks I'm a girl, what's your superpower is so perfectly timed. Thank you Stephanie for the postcard in the mail; I didn't expect it to be scented, and it smells so nice. I appreciate all the vlogs, and the effort you make not only in creating the content, but then to reach out and personally thank everyone. You're a remarkable woman.
Loved the bracelets you received! Stunning! Stephanie, you, Selmar, Marie, Nati and Phillip brigthen our day with every vlog you do. Love to watch you open cadeaux with such love and appreciation! Great job Lalanders!
The rider of Pegasus was Perseus. Thank you, Philip, you are so talented ❤ Fixing the statue of St. Joseph is the sweetest thing! St. Anthony always carried The Infant Jesus in his arm. He is always depicted this way. While, St. Joseph is always guiding an older boy, and a lily.
Perseus rode Pegasus. The Wedgewood would be pretty arranged in a shadow box. An ornate silver frame with a French blue velvet behind the Wedgewood.
James... the socks were hilarious! You choose so well. Thanks La Lande! xxx
I am amazaed byr your Talent of glueing together objects Philip. This is the second time I see you. The last time was for a x-mas present. Incredible! you have "des doigts de fées"! ...as we say here in Quebec. I always wonder how ou overcome the fact that when the glue itself takes up some space, the peaces still perfectly fit! ?
The necklace really suits you Stefanie! It's beautiful!
That silver necklace, gold night dress and so many lovely gifts. You are blessed.
double flat spiral beading stitch. I love how Phillip snort/laughs.
lovely seeing Phillip eating ....... makes my Italian soul sing ....... we love watching people eat
Hello! The green toile is just the same as what I upholstered my antique wicker set. I found a bolt of 10 yards of the fabric at a tag sale for $15. I almost cried when I found it! 😊
If you extended the clasp of the silver crocheted necklace you could turn it into a tiara.
2 bracelets connected together via the magnetic clasps also make a choker style necklace
@@dawnstmichell7356and Airene Smiler!, I just love your jewelry. Especially because it is transformable! Génial!
The bracelets are gorgeous, and so you Stephanie. Nati yours was stunning with what you had on, loved it. Oh my the gifts, Donna making that stunning necklace and sending the sunflower seeds, wow, how moving.
So glad Philip is back! All the gifts are lovely but I must say Philip's tray was everything gosh it's beautiful you have great taste Philip!
Thank you for the video! Epic presents again! Loving the statue and he looks perfect for the chapel, whoever he is!
The peacock painting behind Stephanie looks beautiful in the kitchen. Actually looks good mixed in with the blue dishes. Even unframed.
Pure joy watching this. Thank you.
This is just what my Monday needed!
I’m looking forward to Kat coming back. If she watch this video, I’m sure she said oh no not another tray! Now will have to decorate another room to match it.
Hahaha!!!💗
yes Miss Kat
I really got a good laugh from all the socks!!
This is most remarkable! All the beautiful gifts.. People (including myself) are all so grateful to you, Stephanie, and your extended family of LaLanders for all the joy, happiness, experiences, and love that you bring to us many times each week. Thank you so much for all that you and each of the LaLanders share, helping us to have happy hearts in these trying times. Sending love and gratitude to each one of you there at LaLande! 🙏🏻💗🏰❣️⚜️💜⚜️❣️🏰💗🙏🏻
My son recently moved to Redwood City, CA with his family. It made my day for you to mention the city. Stephanie, I love watching all your videos. 💖
Enjoyed. I love the peacock painting, Very beautiful. Great gifts from everyone. So happy the statue made it to the chapel. Love to all ❤
The toile upholstery fabric is fabulous. I'm sure you'll find just the right piece of furniture to cover.
It’s lovely to see the statue back in the chapel - I was worried someone might knock it off the end of the dresser before it got to the chapel! Great job Philip! Some beautiful gifts and, wow, the Dior nightdress was beautiful as was the exquisite silver necklace and the bracelets! I look forward to seeing the sunflowers grow in the Chateau garden in memory of the lovely dancer.
Philip is so lovely and Jenny is lovely to get to know too, thanks as always x
The photo of Donna’s friend literally gave me cold chills . What a beautiful picture.
My son loves shortbread and when he was small, he called it "little boy biscuits"
Awww...don't ya just hate that they grow up sometimes
So precious 💗
it’s so clear to see Philip belongs to La Lalande
Yes, he is very creative and has excellent taste.
@@jennymay4720 And is so fun and adorable
Can you do a vlog on wedgewood? My daughter inherited a beautiful set of dishes from her Grandmother. It would be nice to know the history of the brand.
I absolutely love the book you received that was written by Denise Vivaldo, she is such a talented women in the kitchen. I've met her and taken her classes in the past. I will let her know you received this book as a gift, she will be happy to know it's going to be used at your chateau
Nattie petting the blue bird, cute.🐦🐦🐦🐦
Hi Percy. Hope you’re having fun at Southbroom. My favourite childhood holidays were spent on the beach there 👌❤️✨ Loved the rock pools there . So many happy memories.Enjoy!
Hi Ingrid we do enjoy Southbroom, walking on the beach and letting the waves wash up your legs. It also has a great golf course; we don’t play but enjoy looking at the lush green expanse.
Percy did you perhaps know my in laws. They lived right along side the golf course. Bob and Frankie were their names. Also John and Ann leal who lived next door to them. Southbroom is beautiful. 💕
Phillip yes with the chocolate soup.
Nati’s princess Leah buns, ABBA’s ‘thank you for the memories’, the statue restored, adorable chocolate hedgehogs 🦔 ...my heart💖💖💖😍😍😍🦋🌱💫
Another wonderful visit with my favorite people!
You should end with Stephanie putting on her night gown and running around the perimeter of the chateau 🤣
The bracelets were gorgeous; Jenny is a peach and wow to the sunflower letter and the resin rings...thought about trying my hand with resin but think I'll stick to stamping and stenciling lol
It’s always so fun watching y’all open gifts! Love Phillips amazing crazy glue puzzle skills.
I am totally loving Jenny.
Wonderful work putting st joseph back together philip
Such lovely gracious folks! Thanks for the joy
Stephanie Thankyou! Joseph has reached home! Philip with his many talents and everyone adds spice to an enjoyable vlog.
Stephanie has a fantastic memory for detail… amazing !!! Phillip definitely has an eye for beauty !!! He is definitely meant for Chateau de Lalande !!! The statue is definitely St. Joseph with the child Jesus. St Anthony usually is with the infant Jesus and he would be wearing a brown Franciscan habit. c”,)
The Statue definitely shows St. Joseph - the Patron of your Chapel. St. Anthony is always depicted as a young Man with no beard, a major tonsure of a monk and he wears the habit of the Franciscans. ☺️👍
The return of Philip!!!!😍
It’s before he left
@@iwilitu6591 Nooooo!!!!!!
@@dawngough1133 I am back though! 😉
Just wondering, why did Philip leave? & does anyone know when he will be back?
@@imogenmary9277 he just commented he’s back ;)
I love the gift openings, I get so excited to see what you get too, just makes my day. Thanks for sharing your lifes with us people of Lalande, best part of my day!
Wow!! I never cease to be amazed at the generosity and creativity of all the gifts. They are so richly deserved for all the joy you all bring us!! Hurry back Phillip!! Who else will they tease while you’re away 😊🤣 Love to you all 💗
I think mummy will be claiming that cup and saucer, it’s gorgeous! All the fabric you get, you could set up a chateaux group to share what you can’t use 🎁🌸
I love the scholarship opportunity for the young woman in South Africa. It makes me want to continue following you because of your integrity and love for all people 💗. Philip is a remarkable man so full of talent. The many presents sent are so thoughtful. The statue of St Joseph and Jesus for the Chapel is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your lovely Chateau experience with me 🥰💗🌺🌸🌹
Hello lovely lalanders ! So many stunning gifts! 🎁🎁🎁🎁🤗🤗😊 Marvelloys! Where do they find all of these beautiful and thoughtful presents? As always thank you very much for sharing with all of us ! Bisous from Alsace 😘😘😘🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁🎁😍
What a lovely woman Jenny is 😊
Long Live La Lande 💥
So lovely! Such beautiful gifts! (I also used to get teased much like Philip does! They say it's because they love us!! I love tasting food as well....and lucky I wasn't there or he would have had to share that left over chocolat!) LOL!...
I love you all you bring so much joy and laughter and so refreshing after I log off from work to know I have your videos to look forward to!!!
I love every time you say “jumper”. In the states we call it a top or a sweater ...a jumper is a totally different piece of clothingin the US and every time I hear you say it it takes me a second to translate. 😁🤣
I think you could use decoupage to save the toile tissue paper..cover a table or board and frame it?
Soooo glad I’m not the only one! Lol
Sandra Westley I do a double take when I hear people from USA talking about there pants 😂😂 pants in the Uk are worn under your trousers, they are your underwear, I was listening to a lady who was going on about taking several sizes smaller pants since she’d lost weight, and I was a bit like fancy saying that, then realised she was not on about her nickers, she was talking about her trousers 😂😂
@@robwestley7370 😄🤣🤣🤣
that tiny suede beaded bag is incredible
Yes, me to I was most impressed by the beadwork of the lovely yellow bag, tote ? and the tiny purse! Wow, so beautiful and so much work!!
I was watching Michael's video the day he pulled down the drapes. Wonderful and thoughtful gift. MM-TEXAS
Phillip always gets picked on. awww. lol. He needs a hug. :)
Well done on the beautiful statue . Thank you Stephanie.
Phillip good job taking care of the leftovers...no waste! Do you observe the 5second rule in France as well? I am so looking forward to the sunflowers this summer.
Neckless and bracelets are beautiful 🤩.love all the presents 🎁.st. Joseph is saved
Enjoyed the vlog, thank you for sharing!!! Will miss seeing Phillip, Selmar, I enjoyed all of you all, the new guest, every thing just brings such inspiration from the gifts. Have a healthy week, happy week and a safe week!!!
Perfect socks for Marie
Always fun to see the gift openings...the Wedgwood room will be gorgeous! Nati...getting a bit crispy in her jokes to Phillip.... but of course he takes it all in stride.
Be nice to poor Philip💕💕💕💕💕
I have total tray envy! ❤️
I know right! Phillip has such great taste!
Yay! Chateau time coming later 😊💕🌷
Another brilliant vlog part 2.Such lovely gifts once again think you will need an extension on the chateau in time just to keep them all.Phillip you do make me laugh the way you like your food (especially chocolate or sweets) must have as we would say a sweet tooth.Enjoy your week with your family. When I use my moulds if iam putting chocolate in them I use olive oil and just rub sparingly inside it stops them from sticking.Looing forward to next week .Take care all.
Jenny you are sooo pretty!
Hi Stephanie. Your smile is infectious. You make me happy everyday. Thank you for your wonderful vlogs and letting us in tour life at Lalande. I could go on but just know you and all your Lalanders are doing good. Much love ❤
