This is what MUSLIMS go through during Ramadan | Fasting Challenge
The Kumaar Family tried Ramadan fasting for 24 hours! We wanted to see what it was like to be a Muslim in Malaysia. We woke in the middle of the night for Sahur, then attempted to go without food or water all day until night time before Iftar. This is our experience as a family!
Thanks for watching! We are Logesh, Rachel, Zaden and Kyren from the Kumaar Family.

😢😢😢😢
As a Muslim I'm proud to see you guys trying to fast like Muslim does.. to me it's kind of appreciation & respect to Muslim brothers & sisters. I hope your fasting goes well & mission accomplished !
Fasting is not just about food , mcm mcm lain termasuk seperti tak fikir bukan bukan , menjaga lidah dan lisan dan mcm mcm lagi penahanan
@@romyhamid1888 Yang paling penting, puasa juga menahan kita daripada menjadi buaya darat...

My mom once said that when I was little, I hated Ramadan so much and because of that, I always ask for the Malaysian government to remove it from the annual calendar but now, I feel the bliss of Ramadan! Thank you Allah... 😇
Fasting is more than refraining from eating and drinking. Eating and drinking is by far the easiest to forgo during the fast. Ramadan is the cleansing of the heart and soul.
Antara hikmah puasa 1. Tanda bersyukur selama ini hidup penuh nikmat 2. Praktik kejujuran dan amanah kepada tuhan 3. Melatih kawal nafsu dan kehendak diri 4. Menjaga kesihatan 5. Rasa simpati kepada orang miskin
6. Dapat makan "dosa" (thosai) semasa berbuka puasa
Dates will give you more energy. Eat in odd quantity. 1pcs, 3pcs or 5pcs.
yes.. Afiq Jamal is right.. 3dates will help u alot.. to keep u energies until your iftar..
Tyou for d tip
@@philipandrew1054 specifically for sahur. Its more better if u having dates and a glass of milk. Just try and you will feel the different.
Odd number is just Sunnah,we follow what our prophet (Muhammad) do
@@NoName-sx5sqit’s said to be sunnah. We don’t know. Allahualem.
Fasting makes you appreciate food and water. And also makes you understand the how the less fortunate people go through. Muslims not only fast during ramadhan but they observe good behaviour, prayers and give out charity.
So proud of you guys, I'm Muslim from Tamil Nadu which your ethnicity belongs to, currently I'm working in Qatar, during Ramadan workout for you is difficult but for us as a Muslims we used to do fasting when we are at the puberty age, you remember my childhood and teenage times so I'm proud during my those days I/we(a group of Muslim friends) used to play for a professional soccer team with all other non Muslim friends we use to do workout on and off the field(gym) because of our passion and love towards the game we won't feel any thirsty or hungry while doing workout with and without soccer balls(gym again)
Great. Physically everyone may succeed. The most challenging about fasting is mind and soul..
I'm a student at local Malaysia university, my "sahoor" was quite simple but I actually like it, a few biscuits with peanut butter, and a cup of warm tea.
As a muslim, im proud to see you guys fasting. Well done! Saya respect dan bangga dengan Kumar walaupun dah lama di USA, selera Malaysia dia tak hilang. Love you guys!! P/s: Nasi Kandar kalau makan pakai tangan lagi sedap tau..hihihihi
Amazing keep it up from Penang
We will also appreciate as Hindu if you do Pooja with us . Challenging??
Hear no evil, see no evil during Ramadan month Happy trying guys!
Speak no evil Do no evil 12 calender months.
Then after ramadan, do all the evil you can ???

Just so you know guys you can brush your teeth when you fast, it is ok Great job guys 😄. Also Ramadhan teaches self-control and self discipline from other temptations, meaning you need to restrain yourself from saying, doing or watching anything that is sinful 😬. Oh and another tip Logesh, most muslims workout like an hour or so before breaking fast, so maybe you can try that next year 🥰
The hard part is accepting islam, the other Allah said, He did not ask us to do anything that exceeds what we are able to do mentally or physically. Allah is Great.
MASHA ALLAH god bless you both guys for joining us. break the fast with dates because it gives more energy instantly and that how prophet Muhammed peace be upon him breaks his fast during Ramadhan and we follow prophet Muhammed peace be upon him that's the main reason for eating dates first to break fast. thanks for your support.
Respect from Singapore 🇸🇬, really appreciate your efforts in understanding what Muslim feels during Ramadan. As a muslim who use to fast since early age we really don’t feel hungry or thirsty at all. Sleepy yes.
Ramadan means not only fasting. Ramadan means pray 5 time, read quran, 30 days fasting & zaqat ( Help poor people) also
Alhamdulillah ! Terbaekkk Kumar & isteri 👍👍👍 Dpt merasai pengalaman berpuasa @ Ramadan Kareem ! 🇲🇾
The hardest part is the Sahur.Eating that early and when you're sleepy is a challenge but gotta be up to at least drink and maybe have a piece of kueh. Lapar tak sangat but dahaga mak oi...tambah lagi kalau cuaca panas. That can really sap your energy. Good job guys.Glad you got to experience fasting even if it's just for a day
I remembered when I fasted during Ramadan, and there are many times I actually skipped sahor; but I drank a lot of water before the fast. Now (though I slack of late) I am getting back into intermittent fasting, where though it is not as long as Ramadan, but the discipline that gives the stomach a break and concentrate on most of the work helped. Kudos for taking on the challenge too! And yes, fasting + exercise is not a good combination haha.
So proud of you guys! My go-to sahur "meal" is almond milk+banana+dates smoothie. I use unsweetened almond milk because the banana and dates are natural sweeteners. Can't stand overly sweet smoothies hehe. Super simple to prepare, takes all of 3-5 minutes to prepare, goes down easy and quick, so I can hurry up and get back to bed. Lol. The best thing is that it's low GI, packed with high fibre, plant-based, gluten & dairy-free (although I'm not particular about this), nutritious and DELICIOUS. You can last longer through the day, and if you add chia seeds with it, it'll help keep you hydrated longer as well. That's my Ramadan sahur trick. 😄
Nice one!
@@KumaarFamily i say one more information ramadan is not fun way and not festival its only prayers month its not also food month and you kisses each other is it aslo not allow in Ramadan if you dont know waht is islam nad what teach quran Muslims please dont miss guide people its my humble regust you physical and sexual relation its also haram in ramadan month and not allow
Thanks Kumar Family's.. This how we leave in Malaysia. Respect each others.. Thanks for respect Muslims friends in Malaysia Fasting Ramadhan...
Alhamdulillah. This is great to see that you guys are making an effort to understand the Ramadan together. You are guys are nice people and have a wonderful family. May Allah show you guys the full Truth and His Beauty. Love from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I can't stop smiling, watching you guys 😊😊 thank you for understanding one of Moslems obligation. And, you did your fasting directly. Oh, thank you for introducing Ramadhan to your kids, it's so beautiful. I hope, one day, we will be united because of Love & respect for each other. May God bless you, Aamiinn.
good job guys 🎊🎊 even we, the muslim kids were taught slow at first, like a half day fasting or with no food only. and us muslims also did the intermittent fasting before the ramadhan month came, and especially for a few days before the real month, as in to prepare our body and stomach for the 30days to come. fasting for me is like rachel, i'll be okay throughout the day but i'll be parched by the end of the day, yet still not enough water for me 😂 on caffeine, my dad is also a consumer, so my mum will made one for him during sahoor and iftar, but really, before sleeping he'll drink like another 2 glasses just to get back that caffeine level into his body 😅
Found you guys within the last year (love your videos!) and now it’s Ramadan again - was awesome to see this pop up!!
I've done Lenten fasting, so I can stay hungry but I can't stay without water. Hallelujah I was able to complete the Lenten fasting even when I was tempted twice, I didn't broke it, but I'll try to give up on more things during the next Lenten season.
1 tip for you is get a full length sleep normally 8 hours before suhur. it will make your body ready through out the day and you will not be sleepy. high caffeine is also will cause of thirsty and headache. it is normal for day 1 fasting. if you need time to prepare suhur, have to get up early. if you are like me, i prep my meal earlier and just heat it with microwave. simple. leftover iftar meal last night is also good and fast to eat.
Good Job Logesh and Rachel . Logesh you're a Coffeholic just like me so what i did is , during Sahur take Coffee just like breakfast of normal days and 3 Dates is The Best as it provides enough energy for the day and when breaking fast (Iftar) take 1 Dates with Water because Dates has it owns Sweet take oir body needs to replace the lost energy of the day . Why I say 1 dates instead of 3 is because 1 is good enough to give you just nice energy till night before going to bed . For Medical sight to have protection from having Heart problem ,its the best to take 7 dates every morning on empty stomach. Well what ever it is so happy to see both of you doing it. Stay Blessed and Happy😊🇲🇾
Respectlah Rachel.. relax je 1st time puasa ...👍👍
Terharu dgr anak ckp thank you for the food mummy and daddy
Wow. Salute to both of you. Love from Sabah Malaysia Take care guys!
Thank you, guys. I really enjoyed that as a Muslim...Blessed.
You are great guys, Nice family. I went two times in Malaysia .Love your country Mister Kumar. Hoping one day to retire there. I agree the food is fantastic. I love the fusion Malay , Indian, Chinese, Indonesian and others cuisines . I am a man of muslim background . It is great to see young people with an open mind. I noticed the religious tolerance when i was in Malaysia. Thailand too is a very tolerant country. Tip when fasting last meal around 10 PM until breaking the fast ( almost 20 hours depending where one lives) I do every day intermittent fasting ( 18 hours some days 20 to 22 hours ) Lost weight and my focus is getting much better each day. Feel rejuvenated. Bonne chance les amis !!!
You're gonna love your retirement days in Malaysia! All the best to you!
I am a coffee person too. Must have it every morning before work. In Ramadan, the first few days are a bit challenging but soon it will be ok. For energy, you may want to blend the dates - usually 7 - with cool fresh milk during sahoor. Can add some ice too to make it more delicious. That is enough. No food is needed.
Adding and blending dates with goat's milk would be the better option. As cow's milk is not good and it is cancer-linked
Dates are good but Cows milk + ice = mucus build up
Great job guys.. Deprived of food will certainly make you appreciate more of the things you have in life.. To be thankful and also think bout the less fortunate.. Its like the great reset for the year..
Fasting across the many religions is a very mindful experience. I have fasted during lent with my Christian friends , during the Ramadan month with my Muslim friends , and at other time with my Hindu and Chinese friends …. A beautiful spiritual experience indeed !
Indeed!
Omg! I saw Rachel ate with fork and spoon especially with the chicken. She is so into Asian now. 😂.
I have trained her well 😅
Congratulation guys! As a Muslim I'm really proud for both of you tried your best for fasting. Hope you can have a great experience. Congrats! 😄
Congrats to both of you! Thank you for the lovely content. Can't wait for raya pulak! hihihi
I loved having you share your fasting experience!!! This is such a powerful and spiritual time! I find it even more challenging to fast around kids… they seem to be always eating!! I feel it is a way to call down the powers of heaven in your life or another’s. I like to fast with a purpose such as health for a friend, or passing my next nursing exam. That way during my fast when my stomach growls I remember what it is for and ask God for this blessing. Whatever the reason for the fast I feel closer to God and I feel his divine influence in my life! I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and we fast once a month. It is for a full 24 hours or two consecutive meals… and I agree with you-WATER FIRST!!! I love your content!! Blessing to you and your family!! Thank you!!!
Thanks for the love and encouragement Mindy! ❤️
we always look forward to ramadhan every year...challenging but rewarding. well done guys.
Bangga tengok non muslim cuba untuk puasa walaupun dekat negara luar
I'm proud of you guys.. really appreciated it..
Watching in Ramadan 2024. Best wishes to lovely Kumaar Family. Lots of happiness and prosperity to you.

Yeahh. Teruskan buat content. I like it. Love from Malaysia 💖. Happy eid mubarrak for muslim around the world🌹
Congratulations to both of you, completed one day fasting, well done….
We Muslims fast during Ramadan time sometimes weather is 120 degrees and we still fast "No matter what we can't break". That's the bonding/belief with Allah. What Allah commands to us we have to obey. Ramadan is not ONLY for fasting but also correct ourselves (forgiveness), and help poor people as much as we can, and so on.
Congrats & thanks to both of u for this Ramadhan challenge..its quite inspire me as a Muslim😍😍
i have been waiting for this content on your channel during ramadan this year! good job for both of you guys!
*Congrats to you both and salute your efforts cos I tried several times to fast but all failed cos by 1pm my stomach grumbled and hurt so much also I cannot go on without coffee for another few hours in fact just like Logesh I cannot live without black coffee with little sugar cos that energize my day so well done Logesh and Rachel and so much respect to everyone out there who managed to fast the entire month cos thats extremely tough*
Nice experience.. I just saw a video that the more north the country is, the longer it is to fast because the daylight is longer. For instance, in Japan, a Muslim girl said she fast for 16hrs
Supporting you guys!! I also challenged the Ramadan fasting… was really not easy but such an inspirational experience🌙✨ thanks for the video!!
What a great effort for both of u, eventhough u get struggle on the middle and at the end fasting time. Thumbs up for you!
Terima kaseh kerana menghormati sahabat2 Islam kamu
it's so nice to see yall challenging yourselves to fast, showing love for muslims 🙏🏻
Hi! Logesh & Rachel, selamat hari raya.Makan nasi kandar guna tangan lagi best .Lebih perisa.he he he.
First time i watched ur video, i liked it too much. A lot of respect to u whole family. May ALLAH reward u for fasting
i normally drink 4 cups of coffee daily and caffeine used to be my problem as well during Ramadhan. To adjust my body, a week before Ramadhan, I gradually reduce my coffee intake down to 1 coffee a day. So, when Ramadhan starts, I dont get any headache or feel tired. Secondly, you thought that fasting for 30 days will be difficult. But I think it is the opposite. If you can fast for 2-4 days in a row, fasting longer will get easier, not harder, as your body is already regulated for fasting. You wont even remember it is lunch time when you are at 12 noon.
I really proud to u guys...keep it up guys...love alot from malaysia
My sahur consist of one heavy meal and oatmeal+protein and 1 litre of water. With this, i can pretty much go through the day just fine and even workout two times during the day (before work and 1 hour before iftar). Just a tip for anyone who still want to exercise during fasting. P.s. i already lost 4kg since the start of ramadan
We did this Since we were in primary 2. Its gets more and more meaning as you grow older. And Its not just one day brother , a full one month!!
I saw a documentary one time about a football team of high school kids who during the season of Ramadan still went to school and practice football all while adhering to the fast. I admire your commitment to your religious beliefs.
That's crazy that you guys managed to do it for the whole day! Most people can't even imagine going the whole day without food, water, cigarettes etc. You hit the nail on the head with all the correct information. Its very tough to get up in the morning and then there is no appetite. Then its hard to get back to sleep as well. The good thing is that if you work the whole day, it keeps your mind off the food. The key is that you eat for iftaar, then a couple hours later have a snack, coffee, tea. For night owls, they'll keep eating into the night and sleep late. For me, the toughest part was no coffee or tea in the morning just like you. But once the first couple of days are done, i feel like i can fast the whole year. Again, you guys are the best for trying this fasting out to show your solidarity with your Muslim friends!
Kami sebagai Muslim fikir puasa 30 hari sebagai benda biasa kalau dah diajar dari kecik, mula mula puasa separuh hari dan cuba untuk puasa seharian bila dah biasa
As our Prophet Muhamad S.A.W said: "There are two joys for the fasting person: 1. the joy when he breaks his fast. 2. the joy of when he meets his Lord."
Thanks for sharing your experience, enjoyed it😊 Sharing mine -- I get up around 30-40mins before the suhur time. I drink around 750-1000ml water, give a break of 5mins. Have my meal for next 20-25mins (best one I have found is whole rice and curry with some curd). Found this routine best for hot summer weather back in india. More than hunger it is thirst that is to be controlled.
Water never tasted so good,.. best quote ever.
Good to see you guys are trying to fast... As a muslim I would recommend to break your fast with Dates instead of Water but remember it is not obligatory but it is a sunnah.... Sunnah is an act that is performed by Prophet Muhammad himself.
Much respect to you both exploring muslim life, may god bless both of you with goodness and prosperous life.
Congratulation Kumar n family. You are just Malaysian where ever you are. Proud of you. Fasting is also great for resting our body engine from doing work all year round. Good try
Congrats & iam so proud of both of you. Ramadhan Kareem.
U guys r awesome!! Glad both of u made it till iftar
Tahniah Logesh dan Rachel..good job guys👍💪
GOD Bless you both...from pakistan ...yes it is hard but trust me you have feel alot better
here's the thing about dates for sahur. it's not for everyone especially for those who's learning to fast. it's a muslim thing called sunnah where we try to emulate our prophet's deeds. while it does provide nutritional values you should eat whatever works for you to go thru your day. you're right though it'll get easier after a week when your body is getting used to it. anyway good job with the experiment!
Hari pertama sampai hari ketiga biasanya mmg akan sakit kepala sbb badan kita terkejut , kurang air n kurang makan.. Tp lepas tu dh okay..
I’m smiling all the way.. so proud of you❤️you guys🥰😘😘
Wow, im speechless. You guys are fantastic!
I am happy to see you both happy... Happy Mummy...Happy Family...Salam from Malaysia...🥰
Dear Kumar & Rachel, Keikhlasan ketika melakukan puasa adalah kunci segalanya... Kamu pasti berjaya...
For me its the sleep interruption but sahur is part of the reward from Allah. It is an experience from Day 1 till now. Its great to see u guys trying it out even if its for a day. I hope the lessons of feeling hunger n thirst helps us all to be better human beings in the long run. Muslims also fast now n then outside of Ramadan. To reap more benefits for the body and soul throughout the year. Btw... Kudos to Rachel, especially♥️
Kudos for you, fasting is good for your digestive system as well
kudos to u guys... cube tanye rachel tu seronok x puasa... mesti seronok sebab rasa perut slim je kan hehe... puasa ni kebiasaannya struggle utk 2 atau 3 hari je... lepas tu dah xde rasa lapar dan haus pon... badan pon rasa lebih ringan... iftar masa yang paling seronok... chef yang hebat adalah rasa lapar dan haus... that is why rachel said "water has never tasted so good"
I remember reading some pointers from somebody who does this type of fast. The recommendations are to reduce your daily caffeine intake gradually over the few days prior to the fast, and drink a lot of water (and maybe electrolyte drinks) the day before, and before sunrise to prevent dehydration.
The first three days are the hardest, hungry and thirsty but after that you get use to it. Just imegine many out there do no have food to eat or has a little, fasting will teach you to appreciate the wealth we have and to share with others
Not for 24 hrs. Thats too long. Its about 13 hrs or so. Anyway congrats you both did it successfuly. Should do it often. Selamat Hari Raya Aidil Fitri.
Dalam ramai-ramai non muslim yang buat challenge puasa ni, i guess this couple doing great. Most of others yang try puasa, diaorang bangun terlalu awal untuk sahur. like 3 am. padahal sepatutnya untuk sahur, bangun 4.30 am, 4.45 am or maybe 5 am, just nice for sahur. So that, bila kita makan & minum waktu camni, tak terlalu awal dan tak terlalu lambat juga. Rasa nak safe mood jer. 😅 Apa yang korang rasa macam like bibir kering or sleepy, then rasa tak ada selera nak makan masa sahur, itu normal time puasa. Saya sendiri pun camtu. Nak atau taknak, paksa juga makan supaya perut tak masuk angin bila terlalu kosong. Btw, you can drink coffee for sahur after eat you meal. Saya pun suka coffee. Bila nak avoid rasa macam teringin nak minum coffee during waktu puasa sehari, saya akan minum waktu sahur + air kosong. It is okay. Nothing wrong with that. Cuma for muslim, for your info, muslim digalakkan lebih buat perkara2 yang baik, termasuk baca Al-Quran dan dekatkan diri dengan Allah, like solat dan sedekah, jaga bahasa, not saying bad words & lain-lain. Sebab pahala dibulan puasa lebih berganda-ganda. Anyway, good job for both of you doing great in puasa. Proud of you both 👍🏻👍🏻❤️❤️
I do loves coffee n tea. But not very addicted. N for Ramadan, i can't drink coffee. It will ruin my sleep time 😂 N now kinda struggle to not drink one. Just wait for Eid, so i can enjoy the coffee in the morning again. Well it's because I'm easily affected by the caffeine. Usually if i drink coffee after 9pm, I'll only get to sleep after 3 am.
Thank you guys for being a part of Ramadan
Also fasting makes you appreciate food more 🥰🥰🥰 love today’s content from kumaar family 😍
Good job and congratulation to both of you for finishing fasting.
So proud of you guys. Positively it’s good for your health too :)
my respect to you guys. well done!!
I'm off 2 days of Ramadhan cause of covid. Hopefully I'm still alive to celebrate Ramadhan next year.
*Fasting is not just abstaining your stomach from food and water.* *When a person fasts, his eyes are also fasting, which means he does not look/watch at evil and forbidden things. His ears are also fasting, which means he does not hear evil things such as back biting, cussing etc. If there is a place where this is happening, you simply stop them or walk away from there. And hence your feet are also fasting, which means, you walk away from the place where evil things happen. Your hands are also fasting, which means you don't cause harm to anyone with your hands - and most importantly (and perhaps the most TOUGHEST one) - Your tongue is also fasting, which means, you control your anger, you don't say words that could hurt anyone even though they may be true. You don't back bite, you don't cuss out, you don't scream, you don't speak a lie. Your heart is also fasting, which means you take out any malice and clean it from everything and you forgive people who have done injustice to you, just for the sake of Allah.* *Ramdhan is a month of practice where Muslims are supposed to practice and develop these traits and then try to live the remaining 11 months the same way as they did in Ramdhan, till the month of practice comes again. All the best to you.*
I love how you guys have become regulars at curry leaves. Hoping to visit there when i'm in the U.S. With love, from Singapore.
