i can hear the rattle of a thousand maracas in that sound test
I can no longer take BT's "reviews" seriously. Just watching for the production quality that's all
@@coolsurfer89 why?
0:46 pricing is backwards. Clicky is $149.99, Linear is $159.99
@@Frosty_V0 No he’s talking about the actual prices of the keyboards not the quality
Nice video! I see you play with a wireless mouse? It that steelseries? Either way you talk a lot about speed, and it looks like you play CS? So im wondering how is the wireless mouse treating you?`Thanks
I really still love the Huntsman TE. Thank you for the honesty and amazing video as always BT.
I use a huntsman V2 purple TKL, I think it's a great keyboard. I guess they dropped the price, because mine didn't cost 200 bucks from Amazon; at 150 I'm pleased, at 200, I wouldn't have been a buyer. Personally, from a sound and aesthetic standpoint, it's what I like. Performance wise, it's the best overall keyboard I've used (gaming or typing). Now, I'm older, and grew up on old-school, split-spring model M's and clacky alps switch keyboards, so my idea of what sounds good includes a degree of pingy-ness and some clatter. If you are into linear switches (which I hate) then I imagine pingyness and bottom-out clatter are unacceptable, in which case, the huntsman V2 is probably not going to be your thing. I really do like the immediacy of the optical switches which, oddly, I find it more noticeable when writing code and documentation, versus gaming (I actually put the keyboard into game mode, all the time, because I really like how the keyboard reacts in game mode to regular typing, at high polling rates). That lack of latency, combined with the perfect purple switch "keystroke on click" alignment, with the slight bottom out cushioning and light actuation, makes for a really outstanding typing experience. It's far less "crunchy" than Razer's green switches, and it's less "clacky" than the Cherry blues I have in one of my other keyboards (a semi-custom build). My only real complaint is that the stabilizers, which work very well to evenly distribute edge keypress pressure, don't remove the rattle/wobble of the keycaps. However, if I had to guess, that was a trade-off design decision, made by Razer, as they were trying to keep keypress pressure light, where tighter tolerances on the stabilizers would potentially lead to binding issues during edge keypresses. That said, overall, I am pretty impressed with this keyboard.
I think the TKL keyboards are getting more popular outside of esports also. Coming from blackwidow elite, I am now waiting for this V2 TKL. I use keypad mostly at daytime while programming, but at night I am at the gaming rig and then I dont need all those keys. Will do some programming, photoshop, video editing etc though
"when I have a headset on I can't even hear it anyways" - Me whenever someone tries to tell me a custom is better than the apex pro
You might be onto something
How do you change the hz through the software. Doesn't give me options in synapse
I own the huntsman TKL v1 and honestly I love the sound (completely modded, big time foam, switches and stabs lubed real good). I mean ye it's loud but I really like it the way it is rn. but ye without any mods it was kinda meh bcs the pinging and hollowness was horrible
Could you do a comparison between the mini and tkl v2
great review BT!
I wonder if you can actually tear down the keyboard , switches and then hand lube them ?
thanks for the review brandon
Yo what is that beat from that's playing in the background?
I tried the og Huntsman tkl, i love the speed but hate the sound. Definetly too loud. I got the Razer huntsman mini with reds and i think its not worth to go for the new Huntsman Tkl v2. I love the huntsman mini, but i will never forget the speed of the huntsman tkl, very satisfying!
The issue with the custom usb cable is probably due to the custom cable not using every available pin on the usb connector and only using the pins required for a basic keyboard.
Apex Pro TKL or Huntsman TKL v2?
I ended up making my own keyboard but it's interesting to see what razer comes out with. I think the wrist rest is more personal preference, I've heard people say they can't do without. Though I agree maybe it should be an optional add on to save cash
Yeah. I have a kbd67 lite that cost me less than the razer: $100 for kbd67 lite (Black Friday) 20ish for gateron yellows $20 dollar key caps from Ali express.
everything is going 8k now :-p......next we will see 8k mousepads :-)... great review as always BT
Lmao
Thanks for the review. I got 2 questions for you... Is there a negative to having a silent linear for gaming? And where did you get those dope art pieces you have behind you?
There’s no negative outside of feel. I got them off Etsy. Search “modern wall art”
@@BTaesthetics thanks for the reply
I guess this is the only review that praised the original TE TKL in term of the responsiveness. I'm crying as I own the original version. LMAO and subscribed.
Corsair already has a 8000hz keyboard out Also, Razer has their own software for testing the polling rate. Just ask on of their reps for it
also, he probably used the keyboard in typing mode(has a debounce time) which you can switch in synapse to gaming and have no debounce. Which combined with slightly more actuation force on v2 switches made the keyboard feel slower for him And you can switch polling rates in synapse too
My 8000hz viper not reached 8000hz only 4800 hz like this when i test the polling rate , actually i have both keyboard and mouse 8000hz
@@alialbeloshi5425 most software to measure the polling rate cannot properly measure 8000Hz. That is why Razer provided their own software for testing it.
Ok how can i use this software I didn’t find any app for razer for testing polling rate 😌
@@alialbeloshi5425 it's updating every 0.125ms regardless of what polling rate u can test in windows, so don't bother with these tests, they can't accurately measure
Would you go with this or the Blackwidow 65% wireless
Personally huntsman >>>>> black widow keyboards
Brandon: The razer huntsman V2 is the worlds first 8000hz keyboard!! Corsair: Am i a joke you?
Og huntsman ftw! Also, it’s still loud af…….might as well be loud n fast
Full size for me. I use numpad a lot for various games like Star Citizen. Each to their own..shame about lack of removable cable
Dope intro !
I appreciate this video, I seriously could not make up my mind 🔥✊🏼😤
Wish razer would release a 75 version of the huntsman v2 that would be so cool
No? Other keyboards are 8k Polling rate as well? like Corsair K100 is 8k polling rate with 4k Keyscan!
Good review 👍
The one you tested does it have Red or purple switches
Red
@@BTaesthetics do you think purple switches have less of that ratting sound.
I have problems with the razed huntsman the v1 where my keys getting stuck (not physically) and causing me to keep moving in 1 direction. I have to tap the same key again to reset it and fix it. Anyone else experiencing this and have an idea on how i can fix it?
if you have warranty take that route
8000hz is 100% marketing. You will never notice the difference at all. This thing is so so overpriced to what else is on the market now.
Yeah anything above 240hz is just extremely unnecessary.
True.
@@idioticmonkey I do agree, but I had a 240hz monitor for about 2 years recently switched to a 360hz monitor not trying to be one of those plebs that can tell the difference between monitors but there's definitely a difference (sounds retarded I know)
@@GrizzleyKZhead they are talking about the keyboard not a monitor lol
It just depends on what you do, for everyday uses yeah it doesn't make that much of a difference however for many games it might make a small but noticeable difference compared to 1000 Hz.
if you put orings on huntsman te, its a less rattly but slightly livelier hollow version of the v2. plus its way cheaper
O rings make me want to commit suicide.
me who spent $400 on a keyboard so it goes "thock" instead of ""click" - heh that keyboard sucks
*laughs in box jades*
corsair k100,k70 tkl, k65 mini , evga z15,z20 already have 8000hz
U can just remove the foam you know? It’s just a layer inside. It’s so easy to remove.
I'm using the Rocket Isku from 2012 so I think it's time to upgrade
Lubed silicone inserted V2 linear optical sis endgame for me.
does it need usb 3 for the 8000 hz?
yeah this turned into a keeb snobs sound rant rather than an actual product review....
Yes
Wtf with that integrated cable on full suzed one
I need the V2 TKL as a mercury edition!
I was just thinking this last night 😭😭😭
Dude the sound to the V1 was bad but what annoyed me the most during typing all the typos i would make cause of how sensitive the keys where aha
tbh they should have kept the original V1 switches because they just sound better imo
3:45 mad respect for my fellow osu players o7 o7
Sound is hugely important to a lot of people. Their friends dont want to hear their bloody keyboard haha.
I really like the new v2 sound ngl aha
Corsair k65 mini has 8,000 polling. Razer v2 is the first FULL size 8000 polling rate
k100 is the first full size 8000hz polling rate keyboard, it got an update a couple months ago
Does using the keyboard and the mouse on 8k Hz takes a hit on the performance?
No, it won’t effect your PC performance
@@MrDumbandRandom Thanks. I remember long time ago when the launched 1k Hz mice people with slow PC's had alot of performance issues.
Yes it will. It is CPU heavy so in cpu limited games youll notice it if youre gaming on a 240hz + monitor. On the intel side youll want to overclock your cpu to 5.xghz. Itll only affect your performance if youre pressing alot of keys at once but an 8000hz mouse is much more demanding. Combining them might become noticeable at 144hz but dont quote me on that because i dont have both YET.
Yes your CPU gets used more and might notice some dips
I have no issues with Corsair 8K mouse and keyboard when gaming 240hz 1440p. I had a few hiccups when they came out but Corsair has done some good updates and I’m not having any dips in FPS.
Does someone else experienced that the spacebar is really wobbly and loud? How can I solve this
That’s how spacebars are on stock boards.
Might have to buy this!
I wouldnt recommend this
But the purple feel good
I can recommend you the logitech g513 carbon with the gx blue Switches
The only thing i dont like about the g513 carbon that IT Uses abs keycaps vut that is Not a big Problem
0:58 no, many pro gamers use wrist rests and as of right now Razer has been the leading vendor in pro gamer peripherals. I'm sure their marketing team has more understanding of what sells.
corsair has 8000hz keyboards already...?
Have a great week everyone! Great video BT!
full size looks way more premium in person
Great review! i was about to get this board but its a deal breaker for me that i could not use aftermarket USB-C Custom coiled cables for the 8kHz polling rate function. i thought i found my next board with this one but guess not...onto the next!
Not a whole lot of 8k keyboards out there right? I know of only Corsair other than this one
@@superblitz2274 yeap so far only Razer and Corsair have the 8k hz polling rare function
@@jonathanchan55 so your went with Corsair?
@@superblitz2274 still doing research so far... Not decided on the Corsair yet.
Volume dial/rocker or bust. Using Fn just to adjust or (un)mute volume just isn't it for a content consumer like me. I wish more TKL boards were available with this feature instead of cutting it with the TK block.
either they have to make a vertical row higher with the tkl or add the dial on side like the asus falchion
but it could bothering for some people who wants to travel with it i think. volume rocker could scratch up or worse gets crushed
You only reviewing the TKL and not the full sized keyboard
Just get the Huntsman TE and luber the switches and stabilizers if you want better sound, might do it to mine soon
Is it even possible to lube the optical switches? Maybe the spring I guess
@@bluairsoft2671 theres several videos of lubing the switches on the huntsman TE on yt
@@tylerplayzz8697 now you mention it, I might've seen one or two when I was looking at the TE. Maybe it can make a difference, unsure
Corsair came out with a 8000 hz keyboard before this one
Sound Test starts at 5:21
actually corsair 60% keyboard had 8k hz
I thought so
That's right, might need to change title
their switches are mechanical so it was a useless implementation of 8khz
Is it just me or does anyone else prefer the loud clacky ones? Hahah
Commenting for the algorithm lol
I went from a Blackwidow elite to a huntsman TE v1 and I hated that so much that I went back to a Blackwidow v3 pro (even though full size means I have to bring a bigger bag when on the go)
Thock/clack > 8000hz polling
Need more mainstream keyboards on the market, looking forward to this!
Razer are re using old parts. They are making you get the rests as they have a load in the factory and the 8000hz is a gimic but they have loads from the mice so somthing else they have not had to spend money on. Thats my view as an engineer. Ref the direction. Razer. I would make a fully changeable keyboard. A full custom keyboard.
200USD prebuild Vs Custom. Not this time Razer
Would be pretty interesting if razer came out with a keyboard with custom in mind. Sort of like Glorious
@@bluairsoft2671 totally agree, I really want to have a 60/65% aluminium keyboard with a media knob
Man I understand your enthusiasm but please lower the clickbait level. This is not the first 8000 hz keyboard in the world because in case you don't know Corsair has already done it with its k65 ...
I know using this physically pained BT in some way lol
still no love for tactile switches
go the custom keyboard route. abunch of tactiles available
Just recently built my own keyboard using tactile switches, love them a lot so far
bt played osu? 🤔
👀 perhaps..
Is your custom cable coiled?? Because that’s your problem if the higher polling rate doesn’t work. Inductance is going to be a problem on a coiled cable, and that is very likely to cause issues at higher sample rates. This custom cable trend is dumb, ya simps! 😂
No one needs a 8000hz keyboard IMO. Sounds like a marketing thing than anything.
OSU players do
i dont get it... ive watched like 5 other reviews now and you're the only one that says this keyboard still rattles.
Go watch one of my custom keyboard video sound tests then come listen to this sound test again lol
@@BTaesthetics I mean yeah, I heard the rattle, Im saying that your video is the only video where it's that bad. Literally all other reviews only the stabs rattle. Js
I like the v1 better lol
when u buy the original huntsman for the sound…. 😅
Lmao that was me . But now I may get this one my mom HATES the sound at night I have to get off cuz it's to loud
Hi
chiclet keyboards are the best
To be honest, I don't like chiclet keyboards at all, I think they suck. But that's just my opinion, everyone has their own preferences.
More ppl care about sound then you think. All mechanicals are too loud.
mostly people that have been in the space for awhile. when i got my first mechanical keyboard years ago. I didn't care about sound or feel at all.
why don't they release wireless keyboards? this should be much easier to implement than wireless mice, because there are no problems with the size and weight of the battery and the keyboard does not require the same accuracy as the mouse sensor.
if you wanted a speed keyboard get an apex pro tkl
coooool
Ily
sheesh
mod the shit out of it
Rattle
meh
This board is an absolute mess
keyboard sounds 🤮
Sounds like crap, rattle me this rattle me that. Rattle rattle rattle
probably the worst sounding keyboard i’ve ever heard
Razer are exploiting the explosion in interest in keyboards - not cool!
Crap for kids.
Sloppy review
why
whos using full sized? how the fuck do you live without a numpad? even for gaming or internet browsing i use it many times a day. macros custom mapping and extra arrow keys for gaming. typing in it daily. what the actual fuck how im i supposed to live without a numpad?
Another razer garbage
