In order to be considered "flagship" in 2019 you typically need a 1440p (or sometimes more) AMOLED display, wireless charging, high quality camera, stereo speaker, IP rating etc. For a lot of people 1080p LCD alone instantly pushes a phone to "midrange" status.

Actually selecting an angle is pretty cool feature, if you want to take landscape photo at low angle, close to water or something like that. You're not going to lay down so that you could see composition better. This helps with that. You can flip it 90 degrees and look directly onto screen.
They should release an OLED refresh of this phone... Its damn near perfect!!!
@rabitman3000 You'll have to wait for next year for a better processor than 855
Oled had it's cons that lots of people don't like it
ali zomorodi There's already an LCD version 😉
Oh yes that's right 😁
Ghanashyam S if they released it with OLED and wireless charging, it’d be the perfect 2019 smartphone.
I actually do like the motor sounds. I find it very futuristic and robotic to hear. It's like the added sounds on TV shows/movies, you can still hear HDD spindle sounds etc. Gives the product a tactile type response that something is happening.
love it! 2:04 "swiveled it around with you hand like a caveman"
LOOKS AWESOME
Y u being too harsh This is a flagship and not a midrange
I thought the same. Crazy phone for its price.
He's a Google and apple fanboi
Nah you just poor
Cause it’s not an Apple/Samsung/Oneplus/Google phone
@@herrschnuff hello bill gates sir!
Why so worried about motorized parts? How many times have you opened/closed a CD tray? Or inserted/ejected a Bluray? Or zoomed a lens on a camera. Motorized parts don't immediately mean it's "not practical for long-term future solutions".
The motors on CD/DVD/BLURAY drives are much more robust and definitely not comparable to a thin/small one like you'd find in a cellphone, and the zoom on a camera lens is more often than not a manually driven mechanical part so there's no motor to fail. Even the screw motor in the Oneplus will be 3 times better than this actuator based on the bold but unsubstantiated claim of 100,000 from ASUS and the substantiated one from Oneplus.
@@alexsurber9404 talking about things being substantiated or unsubstantiated, let's look at the Samsung fold for example. How many folds did the reviewers get before theirs all died? Not hating, I love and own Samsung and have owned every single one of their galaxy phones, but that was utter horseshit for a $2k+ product..
@@oOdOdY75Oo First, when did I even come close to bringing up Samsung or their god awful fold? Second, the word unsubstantiated, do you even understand it?
@@oOdOdY75Oo It didn't fail because people folded it 2 broke because the reviewers peeled of a part of the screen, one failed because the reviewer put clay inside the fold and the last one failed for unknown reasons The fold can be folded 200 thousand times, that's fact
@@boltmix7294 fact? How do you know it's a fact? Have you completed those folds? Lol 4 devices, 2 peeled ok, one guy didn't put clay inside, it was used as a base. If. Dirt gets into there that easily and causes that much damage, that's retarded. I love the last one you mentioned "for UKNOWN REASONS", so if all other 3 you claim are at fault, that means one of every four devices (25 percent) are defective. Makes no sense bud. Don't tell anything is a fact until it's been tried and tested.
This phone is really interesting. I think it could be solid for stationary b-roll filming in videos I make due to the main camera being able to flip around so I could monitor framing with the screen. Very cool.
This is really something we can say pushing competetive inventions... lots of cool stuff... that panaroma thing... object tracking...volume button camera angle controller...wowowo...for some moment thought that steve job has came back...lol..but ...just wowowowowo
Did not expect to see Marques rocking Top Four shirt, nice. Would be cool to see your podcast list
Near stock Android. 5000mAh battery. Snapdragon 855. Around $500. Motorized camera would make it delicate. But it has its advantages too and I think it's the best implementation of motorized camera. Best phone. Period.
The motorised camera is what's making me second guess buying this. I'm looking for one and it's either this or OP6. But not sure how safe the swivel camera is from dust etc
Wow! Who'd a thunk it!?This is a great informative video. Alot of nice things going on with this phone, especially for the price. Now i have more to choose from without having to spend over the top amount of money. Thanks for this video, Marques!👍🙂🙂
I have a Mi Mix 2S which keeps the selfie cam in the chin. I originally figured it was nbd because I rarely use selfies, but when I do, it's a PITA to have to flip the phone around and you need to think for a bit about why the image is all messed up. This seems like a better solution in a similar space - the high spec, design forward budget flagship, and the shift towards pure android is a great change.
