Also their radeon graphic cards, when rx5600xt release nvidia has to lower rtx2060 price, this competition is so good for us consumer
@pakorn99013 жыл бұрын
Jammy: Thats some BS. Intel have had several 6c/12t CPUs for 10 years now on the consumer market (X58 platform). AMD did just "force" Intel to core-up their mainstream platform in late 2017. Its nice to have some higher proccessing power in the low-mid-end mainstream segment now, Thanks to competition. What happened in that segment from 2011 to 2017 was a joke. Sure! But as long as consumers buy it, its better business to save the best stuff for competitive days. Intel actually still competes with the architecture they launched about 5 years ago. They have just refined it with more cores. AMD are the one who has been doing most work in development the past 3-4 years. They needed to do that. Intel did not. They only a year ago bested the IPC on Intels present mainstream architecture. Even though they're on 7nm vs Intels 14nm, they still cant quite compete yet with the frequency/power efficiency that Intel has refined their 14nm silicon to now. Run a i5-10400 vs a r5 3600 at 4GHz. The slight higher IPC from AMD does use more power and runs hotter than the Intel counterpart. But the competition is glowing now. :)
@Wushu-viking3 жыл бұрын
Agree. But Nvidia High-End GPU prices are still a joke. (Because they can sell) AMD has way more fair price/performance ratio on their GPUs. The best Value from Nvidia are the RTX 2060 and 2060 Super. From there on, it gets rediculous with price/performance ratio.

Don't you mean 10 years. Started with core 2 duo in 2006 till early skylake. In that time AMD spent 6 years trying to make phenom and phenom 2 being competitive, and in 2012 ended up going to their server division to use bulldozer and pile driver which were famously worst than the previous gen.

Dominate, when u have similar rivals in the market like Apple vs Samsung. Intel has now got its comparable competitor. Earlier AMD was very small with limited tech. But now it has grown to the capabilities of Intel. Now if Intel dominates then we can say it is doing a phenominal job. The early 8to10 years Intel had no rival big or developed enough to challenge him.

Oh this is about graphics cards. I was a huge AMD fan from the 486 DX days all the way up to Phenom II X4. Then I got a used I7-3770 in an old surplus SFF HP computer. For the tiny fraction of folks that do highly deeply threaded tasks like computational fluid dynamics simulations, AMD has Thread ripper. But if you use a PC for video editing, gaming, office apps, etc ... AMD CPUs have been second best most of the time. They are so close now that either AMD or Intel is good for most people, buy what you can afford. HOWEVER! I run the Intel I9-13900K on this machine. Ain't no AMD cpu of any variety replacing my beloved 13900k. I don't care if that seems rational. Do you have one? They are impressive.

While playing Generation Zero with people on discord I learned from the stream his FPS on a GTX 4090 was running 70-80 FPS with a 14th gen core i9 on Medium graphics setting and my Ryzen 7800X3D and RX 6750XT (Also streaming) was in the same multiplayer game with ultra on at 165 FPS average (Adaptive Sync Limit for my monitor). The game ended up crashing a bit later because his CPU overheated on a 360mm liquid cooler which is the same brand and size of liquid cooler I use. Kind of funny. Intel was on top there for a while but it's been displaced for the time being. Intel got lazy and stagnated and got caught with their pants down when Ryzen started rapidly evolving and Intel has been playing catch up. The only way Intel is beating AMD right now in any benchmarks is on single core performance while overclocked. They managed to get boost up to 6ghz but it's also causing a lot of Intel cpus to overheat a lot. All that overclocking also isn't doing much for any of the other cpu features. My processor is 5nm while Intel is still stuck on 7nm. AMD also has lower power consumption and lower temperatures as well. Basically Intel is running their processors HOT to keep up on a larger dye and it's laughable. I ran Intel for a while myself because AMD was not doing so hot during the FX and APU era, but we are living in different times now. Also I haven't had a blue screen of death sense switching to AMD, similar experience I had during AMD Athlon XP, it was solid but before that and Intel during FX, they were fast but also unstable. Which do you prefer?
@patrickkeefer86783 ай бұрын
@@patrickkeefer8678 I am running a I9-14700k now. I still have the RTX3090. The CPU isn't overclocked. I got tired of the fan noise and for my use, GPU acceleration is how multithreading gets done. This might sound odd, but I am planning to go to Ubuntu once Win 10 is no longer supported. Early tests show Win 10 is a resource hog to the point of absurdity. Hence, it remains my opinion that Intel and AMD are fairly equivalent. Microsoft is the weak link in all of our PCs. They've never shipped a product that wasn't buggy, and no updates or patches work for more than a week. I am disappointed in Microsoft.

Rise of the Tomb Raider, что весьма достойно с учётом его цены. Восстал из мёртвых короче. To think that it performs better than a 1600x system I built for a friend in 2018, AND it was released 5 years earlier is just crazy. Just goes to show how much people get caught up in marketing and hype. You got a platform where you can't increase cpu clocks, voltage, or ram frequency, the performance was never there... it was kind of marketed as being a platform that will continue to be supported when they release better hardware... gave me real "pre-order" vibes. I feel like today AMD gears itself to the average person, while Nvidia and Intel are putting themselves to niche customer platforms (the ones who have a ton of money). Sure AMD's Ryzen platform isn't the absolute greatest thing to exist, but their user friendliness is unparalleled in the computer marketspace. And if it weren't for AMD making GPUs even at all time lows, Nvidia would hold a scummy monopoly. I have huge respect for them and Radeon as a whole.
@Not_interestEd- Жыл бұрын
@@Not_interestEd- You are arguing two uniquely different things. Ofc competition is good and thanks to AMD *when* it can keep it is good for us all. However, i would disagree that they are for a niche market. Intel/Nvidia imho is for a patient market or those that want a better experience bc you get what you pay for. Objectively, I would have done better (both short term and especially long term) if I would have put together an other 20/40 bucks and gotten the i5 instead of my 8350. I've tried the Ryzen platform, and if it is not one thing or another - something was up. Intel/Nvidia, has been a more enjoyable experience. It is literally plug and play. I don't have XMP issue or drivers issue, or frame drops etc. And it is to your point: "average consumer". At 200 bucks X600 vs i5, why do I, as an average consumer, need twice the threads? At price per performance with benchmarks AMD is superior. But as an experience for the "average consumer" Intel/Nvidia is unparalleled. And I have made my mistake in that past and wont anymore. I will patiently wait weeks/months for a better long term experience.

@cynosurevevo3 жыл бұрын
The rest is accurate if you include pricing because as far as performance goes, Intel is not outgunned, not even now with 5 year old parts. 10900k is just as good as 3900xt. 10700k likewise with 3700xt. 3950x fights with 10980xe and sure, if you go up the scale to threadripper Intel is indeed outclassed, but in many categories it certainly has similar performance to AMD parts. Sure, pricing is much better for AMD, but performance wise I wouldn't say Intel is getting beat up.

@akshsehgal9983 жыл бұрын
@@akshsehgal998 You can go and read 10900k review at techpowerup, the chart with overall cpu performance. The difference is very small in processing tasks overall and in gaming 10900k is 10% better at least. So how exactly is Intel doomed and overtaken cause I don't get it? As I said, if you factor in prices, yes, there is no competition, AMD is best buy at all price points but performance wise you are lying to yourself. 10900k is up there with the 3900x in the majority of tests. Look here, first graph: www.techpowerup.com/review/intel-core-i9-10900k/21.html And this graph doesn't include gaming! Gaming is below and at 720 where you remove gpu bottlenecks it is 15% better than 3900x Let's for one second be objective. We were discussing here about performance, pure performance. Not bang for the buck, not efficiency. What level of performance you can get from AMD and Intel today and this video tries to create the impression that AMD has had the best performance in the last few years which is simply not the case. AMD has had the best prices per performance in the last year, but was usually the case with AMD, even before Zen, so that is why I am saying that I don't agree that AMD is beating intel, since performance wise they have similar parts and performance up until the threadripper line where indeed Intel has no response.

Also their radeon graphic cards, when rx5600xt release nvidia has to lower rtx2060 price, this competition is so good for us consumer
Agree. But Nvidia High-End GPU prices are still a joke. (Because they can sell) AMD has way more fair price/performance ratio on their GPUs. The best Value from Nvidia are the RTX 2060 and 2060 Super. From there on, it gets rediculous with price/performance ratio.

Good question 😂
I am disappointed in Microsoft.
i love how this pretends like haswell and skylake didnt eat FX for breakfast lol
As well as pretending that amd was a functional cpu, and not buggy af platform that barely works stable most of the times, when intel literally plug and play.

Besides price per performance, AMD wasn’t relevant till Ryzen. The 8350 and i5/i7 were only competitive because of the 8350’s price but the i5/i7 was the superior chip especially in gaming. I know from experience lol because I made the mistake of going AMD (8350) with a r9 270x. Ah my first build
Athlon 64 was a major blow to Intel when it came out, but Microsoft refused to fully support it until Intel made a clone.
I’ll be honest, the beginning of the video is pretty biased. 2012-2016 Intel definitely beat AMD. The rest is pretty accurate tho, speaking as an AMD user.

Skylake was such a bombshell that they still hold up to this day
I support competition not fanboys I might even have a cpu from intel and a GPU from AMD or the opposite, depends on the quality and the price at the same time
True
I didn't remember the FX series being well received at any point of its life cycle. Everything about ZEN is spot on lol
FX can still run a lot of games today No, it’s not up there w big bro Ryzen but they are decent af
Darius Brown FX is absolutely trash. Intel completely fucked the FX architecture. In gaming the fx series was so bad you were literally better off with a haswell i3 processor because the performance per core was shit

AMD forcing Intel's hand, making them change, having them drop some prices, to which they no longer have a monopoly on the processing industry, is a perfect example of why I love capitalism.
@not hing This one example of capitalism going well totally make capitalism objectively good... 🙄
@@de132 are you implying anything else is better?
@@calebkummer9337 I just think it's silly to go: capitalism is objectively great and socialism kills. Especially when capitalism also kills.
@@de132 socialism has killed many many many more people than capitalism and democracy
@@calebkummer9337 If you do death tolls based on economic conditions of systems, capitalism probably "wins" the most deaths simply because there are economic conditions that cause people's deaths (e.g. military-industrial complex) and the fact that the world is mostly comprised of capitalist systems or systems with facets of capitalism. I think this "debate" is fruitless and stupid, and anyone arguing this is a sycophant for an economic system that does not give a damn about you.
This will be remembered for ages!
Nice video and congratulations for the work done to combine the scenes. However I've been working for very important corporations and organization so far, none of them purchased or used AMD within their infrastructure (servers / users' devices).

as an Intel user but never a fanboy, I say welcome to the competition from AMD
With competition intel will force to release more new tech and lower the price which is good for any consumers and also i could buy some good amd cpu too
@@annguyenlehoang7779 exactly ,that's why it's stupid to be a fanboy ,competition makes it easier for consumers

The only reason i dont prefer intel is cuz of it's cost
AMD is far better than Intel. I use AMD RYZEN as my processor in my legion gaming laptop. If the latest Intel were to be used for high end games like PUBG and Csgo, it would die. AMD >>> Intel anyday.

I don't think people remember for just how long amd was irrelevant in the cpu world.. All the way with the first fx cpus till zen 1 release, that's a long ass time. It's good that they are on top now but for so long they had nothing even close to compete with intel
