  • Lexus did a great job with this refresh of GX. The ground clearance was a little less than I expected (was expecting closer to 10” with 35” tires). If I hadn’t bought a GX 460 the OverTrail (not the +) would be my choice. As it stands I’ll keep my 23 GX for at least 10 years and lift it when the newness wears off so I can really take it off-road

    @rugged9769@rugged97693 ай бұрын
    • The tires are 265/70/18s, so about 32.5". I don't think anyone has played with the new model yet to know how much taller of a tire will fit.

      @busslayer4790@busslayer47903 ай бұрын
    • The tradeoff is that you have 8.9" of ground clearance on 32.5" tires, but you have a lot of articulation with the suspension. Some vehicles let you raise the ride height (Jeep GC Trailhawk) to 10"+ but you lose most of your articulation. In my experience off-road, I'm more often limited by traction than by absolute ground clearance, so I'd rather have the articulation. But everyone's use case is different.

    • @@JCintheBCC Why not have both ground clearance and articulation?

  • As a current GX460 owner, I really like the exterior styling. I would also prefer not having the 3rd row for extra cargo capacity. The interior is functional and non-offensive, but I wish they stuck with some analog gauges. Analog just feels more premium these days. Overall I think I'd wait for the Toyota version so see how the hybrid 4 cylinder setup does for some extra MPG since I don't tow. The seats do look like a win over the 460 for sure.

  • Love this new look, But it rally is just a bit Toyota with an L on the front. I'm just amazed at how far from normal they went with the styling from the typical L brand. But in no way is it bad here. I love the look. I love the boxy look, yet its not overly square like a Hummer. Its similar to my Xterra. But larger in size and certainly more capable in this case. I love the locking diff options, a minimum must have on a ride like this. I would like to see the course run in 2WD as best as possible, only switching when needed. As well as compare the drive mods to direct 4wheel locking. All in all great, makes me want one for sure! It'll be great to see the accessories to come! Great video, would love to see more like this. Also, get it on slip rollers. lets see just how good that system is! I'd also like to see the space in the rear wit the seats all uninstalled. What kind of floor space is there, Build a custom install with all the excess removed. The trim that it is, I'm a little surprised that they didn't offer a way to completely remove the rear seating.

    • @@drivingsports Maybe that's more of an El Niño thing. I think typically the region sees its monsoonal rains during the late summer. Regardless, flash flooding is a real threat in the desert which can make normally dry arroyos into raging torrents and washing out roads.

    • But which park? 😉 The Sonoran desert didn't actually get much rain this winter. You were just here when we got those two weird storms. So unfortunately we didn't get the rains we needed at the end of last year to get a really good strong wildflower bloom this year 😕. And freshly turned up dirt weather from a mini bulldozer or shovels like they probably used to work on the "test course" or mud tires tearing up the dirt... When a sudden hard rain comes is just going to be washed away in the desert.
