Complete respect to the Pens. They definitely deserve Stanley after their loss to the Red Wings the year before. But as a Wings fan, the too many men on the ice no-call was the reason we lost this series. Yes there were some great effort by Crosby and the Pens, but to me, this no-call was the 2009 equivalent of the 2018 missed PI in the NFC championship. It's legit the only call that the refs have to call (besides delay of game), even when they swallow their whistles in the playoffs. I enjoy the whistle swallowing because it brings out the best in both teams, but this is one that heavily favors a team unfairly and has to be called every single time. It's not like a little hooking or cross-checking or even multiple missed icing or offsides calls. It's called "Powerplay" for a reason and allowing a team an extra skater at THIS level is just way too disappointing on the refs part. Complete respect to the Pens. They deserve credit for capitalizing, but this series should have been Detroit.

Gonna go watch the 08 Stanley cup documentary to cleanse my soul
AMAZING TEAM
It was never Crosby v. Ovie . It has always been Geno v. Ovie . That was always the real competition .
Fun fact Ever forward on Pittsburgh but crag adams had a 20+ goal season at some point in their career
The Chris Kunitz trade I'd say paid off...
That's my team🖤 Let's go Pens!
1:03:35 Bylsma: "I don't show a lot of emotion on the bench, but I'm sure that time I gave a little smile" The replay shows he didn't.
6:38 Two time back to back Stanley Cup CHAMPION!!!!!! 81!!!!
Anyone else see the guy in the capitals crowd wearing a Sabres jersey at 20:38 ? 🤣
I miss flower 🌸 though he was the best
I remember watching this as a pens fan in college... Detroit was so fkin scary, having won the prior year, with all those legendary players, and the all red, russian-looking uniforms
Tom Barasso was such an amazing goalie.....
cool
Cool
Osgood is so underrated
No he isn’t 😂
@@jacksubasic8260 3 Stanley Cups, over 400 wins. Should be in the Hall Of Fame.

A sport, a wonderful show. Too bad that in Europe it is difficult to find the PS4 game on the NHL 2017 2018 2019 etc....
Yes they where a good team
It hurt when Hossa left for the Wings, saying they had a better chance at the cup.... Oh, how the turn tables...
I hate Hossa, that’s karma for him
@@jacksubasic8260 yea same but then he won 3 cups
24:52 just wait until 2016 buddy
what is the sound call 1:33 when Penguins lost the cup to the Red Wings
Beating the cryers and crapitals and winning the Stanley Cup that’s the perfect playoff run right there go pens
As a Ranger fan, I hate the Flyers more than anything in the world, then the Capitals and then the Hurricanes.
i’m a jets fan but i almost shed a year at the end, wow
People hate Crosby so hard mcdavids first 5 years vs Crosby's first 5 years Crosby>>>Mcdavid
how I miss that Gonchar Orpik D pair
And we’re coming back
And I { Sid the Kid } Won't have that happen again!! I am a Duck fan and love Bobby Ryan but Crosby almost was a Duck... Pittsburg has so much historical amazing hockey history.
That Quote still gives me chills. "Play without fear and I'll see you at Center Ice."
Hey Pens, or anyone else who might know... what’s the song that starts around 1:34? Thanks in advance and Go Pens!
I think it’s one of those custom songs that doesn’t exist anywhere else
Lebby1074 I know I’ve heard it in a select few other videos... can’t remember what they were though. I’m guessing it’s a sort of “stock” song that gets used a lot in documentaries and stuff like that... I just like the way it sounds every time I hear it and am hoping just one person can tell me how to find it
"Sandstorm" by Darude
Today was Penguins day at school and a kid rolled up with a Tampa Bay Lightning hat and jersey
I subscribed
what the name of the song that start right at the beginning of the vid
My favorite penguins team 🤘
Here we go penquins Here we go.. Here we go penquins Here we go...
Who had the opening line?
It’s happening in Minnesota Billy G!! 22!
First round
9:45 I was at that game as a kid I got the ticket and everything still😂
the Toronto one or the canadiens one with bylsma?
If the Pens hadn’t coughed up that 2-0 lead in Toronto, this would’ve been Michel Therrien’s Cup.
No therrien was a horrible coach
Letsgo Pens he was the one who built that team. Bylsma just extended it and that too, only for one year.
Jason Arokiaraj they were in 10th place with therrien a change needed to happen
@@letsgopens5400 that’s because Gonchar was out with injury and they lost Ruutu, Laraque, Malone and Roberts all in the 2008 offseason. The Fedotenko and Satan acquisitions were ok, though.
How many times is KZhead going to replay this over and over again on my TV. Good grief. Watched it once & that was enough thanks.
Poor whit man
The trade that saved them was getting rid of Whitney lol
Lol
Love my Pens
It was never Sid v. Ovie . It has always been Geno v. Ovie . That's the story .
I didn’t know that all of Crosby cup wins he knocked out ovis capitals in the 2 round
Pittsb 2 greats crosby mario...tons better then any nyr who played career on a team
32:50 I like number 11's (Dan Cleary) reaction. Doesn't even realize he just won The Cup.
24:50. Oh letang if you only knew at the time that there would be an even more important goal in your life in San Jose.
😂 yea who do you think would win 2009 pens or 2016 pens
@@sharkishablackberry3798 2016 Pens without a doubt. That team was an offensive powerhouse that couldn't be stopped.
@@guitarded2010 really idk 2009 was just as fast and were physical they would wear out 2016
@@sharkishablackberry3798 hmm that could be. On the other hand, can we say that the 2016 pens team had more experience from their star players? If we can, I'd say that older, more experienced Sid, Geno and Letang (along with Kessel, Bonino, Hagelin, shoot throw in Hornqvist too) would defeat that 2009 Pens team.
take a look!!
Could have done without Pierre being included
What you don’t like his “big body plays” or “crazy caroms” 🤣🤣🤣 dude is so creepy
@@ericbrewerguitar1499 he is the absolute Worst of all time
J V well he was Badger Bob’s assistant coach when the Pens won the Cup in 1991 so I’ll give him that lol but otherwise he’s def the worst

LETS GO PENS
In triple OT against the Patos
"You don't get to enjoy anything for a while, when you play the Detroit Redwings" LOL except the past few years when they've been arguably the worst in the league probably only rivaled by the "disaster in the desert" that is the Coyotes
As an Avs fan, I hate to say I love to see it 😂😂
@@thedukeparty I look forward to renewing our old rivalry but instead of in the Western Conference Finals, it'll rightfully be the cup finals.

Does Detroit still score
@@Toews1247 We'll never know. And that's the very problem with missed calls.
