I wonder if you ever think “that will do, it’s close enough “. No, you are such a perfectionist. The miracle that you work on all your pieces is heartwarming. I wish that I had your skill, patience and determination to see that any restoration with my name on it is suitable to fit in a stately home or a palace. Everything that I have seen you do would not look out of place in the very best of houses. Good thing you have Daisy to keep you up to scratch.
Wow Pamela, you always say such lovely things about my work and I hope you know how much I appreciate your support. Thanks so much 😀🐶❤️❤️
What a love job. Loved the way you finished the inside. Made it beautiful. Keep up the good work.
😀❤️
Dear God what a difference!!!!! My Gran used to say " Your trying to make a silk purse from a pigs ear". Well, you did just that!!! Absolutely beautiful 🤗
That’s lovely of you to say, thanks very much 😀😀
Another reminder that you can't tell a book by its cover. Thanks for having the patience to revive this gorgeous dresser. It will bring so much beauty to the world.
Glad you liked it, thanks very much 😀😀
At first, I had to laugh at the string ‘drawer pulls’ and at Daisy’s antics, along with the ducks just being ducks- and I completely understand the time it takes to work up the sanding grit- it does take 2,000 years, but the transformation was just phenomenal! That gorgeous wood grain! I was also happy to see that you use Titebond Hide Glue! And I appreciate how you explain your repairs and items that you use! Still cannot get over the final result- I’m certain it’ll bring in a pretty penny! The true definition of “Trash to Treasure!” Bravo, David! 👏👍💖🌟
Thanks so much Doris, that’s really kind of you 😀🐶❤️
Talk about going from trash to treasure! This was a phenomenal transformation!!!! The wood grain on this piece is fantastic!! Good show! Thanks to Daisy for a generous dose of "puppy love"! ❤
Thank you very much!😀🐶❤️
Daisy is so cute to watch - I love the way she tosses her head when she barks! Obviously, she is great company for you. The chest looks really beautiful - saved to grace another home!
😊 thank you. Daisy is a great companion although a little distracting 🤣🤣🐶❤️
The beauty wasn't visible until you did this awesome restoration, David. And hello to sweet Daisy and the cute little duckies❤❤❤❤😊
Thanks Myra 😀🐶🦆❤️❤️
Holy cow, look at the grain on that!! What a wonderful restoration! This looks absolutely wonderful! I’m so glad you picked this piece to restore. And pet Daisy for me for making me smile!😊❤😊❤
Thanks and will do Racheal. 😀🐶❤️
The way the veneer matched down the front was just beautiful... Daisy has got competition with the duckies!!!!
🤣🤣🦆🦆🦆🦆🐶❤️❤️
Bravo! What an amazing transformation, that veneer really shines through now. Just a little disappointed that you chose not to refurbish and use the string drawer pulls!! 😇
Ha!!!
Thanks, I tried shining the string up on my bench bench polisher but just couldn’t get the shine I wanted 😂😂😂
@@MayfieldRestorations 😂
Could’ve ever predicted the beauty underneath all of that trash. It’s absolutely gorgeous. Thank you.
😀❤️
Everyone of these channels within the "Trash Challenge " is the New 🏆 winner. You are now another strong 💪 contender. Isn't the grain outstanding on the drawer fronts? OMG. Thank you for your video today. ❤
All the challengers did a lovely job. Thanks for supporting us all 😀❤️
It kinda makes me sad someone treated such a pretty piece so badly. Thank you for rescuing such a lovely lady. (You did good!)
Thanks 🤩
People just don’t know what they have do they? This is a hundred year old antique chest of drawers with the most beautiful grain. Thank goodness for these challenges that you take on. 👏👏
It did turn out to be a lovely piece, one of my favourites 😀😀
That grain is so beautiful--who would have thought it would be hidden under all that dirt and paint--a beautiful restoration almost like witchcraft!
😀😀 Thanks Sue 👍👍
David and Daisy furniture magicians. Who knew a little dog could be such a clever treasure. You were wonderful too🤣🤣🤣🤣
Aww thanks Susie 😀🐶❤️
Have mercy! Wonder how many people’s lives resemble this dresser? Let’s hope someone near them gives them as much care as you just gave this piece of furniture. Thanks for caring and for doing your best on something others chose to throw out as trash.
Yes, Jay says that on really tough cases!😂
Thanks so much 😀❤️
Incredible Job on this dresser. The wood grain is gorgeous. This piece was definitely headed to the DUMP!! I had faith in you, but I wondered what kind of miracle you were going to have to pull off to make this dresser Beautiful again. WOW, did you ever pull the miracle off. She is absolutely Gorgeous!!! Well done!!
That’s a lovely comment, thanks so much 😀❤️
Cheers to you Daisy for making David so happy he couldn't help but create this work of art from its trashed state, cheers David!!!🥰😘💕👍👍💪🐕🐕🦆🦆
She certainly does make me laugh Frances. She made 🤣🤣🐶❤️❤️
You managed to make a lightweight piece look like a million! The glow up of the wood when you add the Feed-n-Wax is just amazing. Love the vintage hardware, too. Well done!
Thanks so much 😀
Don’t remember if I left a comment or not 😂 that was a lot of work my friend but well worth the beautiful result. Nice work 💪🏻
Thanks buddy 😀❤️
After so much abuse that piece of furniture received a new life. You certainly found it's former beauty, that woodgrain is stunning. Awesome job!
Thanks very much😀😊
You are so clever to see through the horrible mess and envision what was underneath. And then to bring it back to beauty!
Thanks so much 😀😀
You raised that dresser from the dead! It's breathtakingly beautiful!
Thanks very much 😀😀
I barely have words to describe your work on this piece of furniture. I am in awe of your craftsmanship and patience. Just totally brilliant. Love the result!
That’s really kind, thanks so much 😀😀❤️
It’s simply amazing to me the amount of care given to correcting the imperfections. A beautiful thing has reemerged from the rubbish. It’s a metaphor for life really. With love, care, and a commitment to compassion the patchwork on our souls becomes less noticeable and beauty shines through.
Lovely comment, thank you 😀❤️
Nothing short of miraculous. Who would have guessed at the beautifully crafted veneer pattern buried beneath? You helped rediscover the craftsmanship of artisans long gone, once more to live on in memory. You have done more than restore a piece of furniture, you have paid tribute to bygone artists.
I love that comment. Thanks very much Matt 😀😀👍
High praise to the Restorer and a comment for the algorithm! ✌🏻🎨☕️
Thanks😀😀😀👍
Gobsmacked. That grain. All of it. Wow.
Thanks ❤️
You definitely had your work cut out for you, but you did an amazing transformation! She is a stunner, and the hardware just finishes it all off so beautifully. You and Jay really chose absolute trash to repair 😂 Miss Daisy is just the cutest. A real sassy madam who is very vocal about her wishes. Gorgeous! Best of luck with the challenge. Greetings from Germany ❤
Thanks so much. Daisy was very vocal that day for some reason. She can be a little minx sometimes 😂😂🐶❤️
What a transformation! It's gorgeous. Fantastic work. It really was trashed, but you've given this sorry pile of junk a new lease of life.
Thank you very much!😀
I swear... I don't know if I watch your videos for the woodwork, or for Daisy! Beautiful work... and beautiful pup!
Probably Daisy but i'm not offended 🤣🤣🐶❤️
Was junk now it’s a beautiful piece of furniture again.
😀❤️
Do you think it will make it another 90+ years? Absolutely stunning!
Hopefully 😀😀
Lost for words. I love these challenges and you and Jay set yourselves the almost impossible and then smash it. It’s beautiful.
Thank you so much!!😀😀
Absolutely astonishing! I could not imagine that piece becoming so beautiful. When you uncovered the gorgeous grain,I realized you would make it a show piece! Thank you for the Ducks and Daisy.
Thank you very much Gloria 😀🐶🦆❤️
I have no words to say how beautiful your work was. As we say here in Brazil: YOU KILLED IT! Congratulations .
Thanks so much Pablo, that’s really kind of you 😀😀👍👍
@@MayfieldRestorations You deserve it because of your work. A hug straight from Minas Gerais Brazil.
Oh, I'm so glad you restored it. It turned out so lovely.
Thank you! 😊
No one would believe it was the same dresser unless they watched the metamorphosis. Wonderful job
Thanks so much 😀
Oh my gosh!!! What you did with this piece of trash is nothing short of miraculous! It's stunning! I absolutely love what you have done with it! The grain pattern is so beautiful. I wish I could give you 100 Likes on this piece, but alas, I can only do one. Congrats on a job extremely well done!!!!
Thanks so much Karen 😀❤️
I never imagined that wood could be recovered. I tried to guess what color you would paint everything. Incredible work. I loved the end result. I know that nothing would be possible without Dayse's supervision.😅
Thank you so much 😀 I don’t mind painting at all but definitely not seeing that grain 😀🐶❤️
You must be so pleased to brought such a beautiful piece of furniture back to life. The grain is amazing! A really skilful sympathetic restoration. Well done.
I was very excited seeing that grain under all that paint etc 😀👍
*Dave, the makeover of this waterfall dresser, with the gorgeous woodgrained drawers is simply astonishing‼️😍🙉 Kudos to you, Sir.👍🏼😉🤎*
Thanks so much! 😊
By restoring that piece of furniture that was abused as a workbench in a garage everyone now can see how brilliant furniture manufacturers and their carpenters were at veneer work. The mirror effect of the veneer on the drawers is utterly gorgeous. And that was an affordable chest of drawers for the middle class of Great Britain back in the twentieth century. Thank you, David for giving us a glimpse of history, and at the same time restoring a very worthy chest of drawers. I almost forgot to say that you, David, have the BEST taste in hardware. I love the new knobs.
Thanks so much, glad you enjoyed it 😀😀
This is absolutely gorgeous! Good job, you! Talk about a diamond in the rough. I've now watched several "It's Literally Trash Challenge" videos, and by far yours is the best result. I'd buy this beautiful old bureau from you in a heartbeat if I was in England.
That’s really kind of you to say, thanks very much. 😀❤️
You never know what you'll find if you're willing to look for potential where others only see trash!
Agreed 👍
The wood grain pattern is so beautiful. You really turned trash to treasure.
The fact that the drawers were dovetailed and not butt glued says a lot for the quality of the original build.
😀👍👍
Wowowowow!! The patience of a saint with this one 😂. Looks amazing, can I have it please, love from your little sister 😂❤️ Such a great job well done bro x
Hey Sis. If I could get it to Dubai you could have had it. It’s sold now though. Move back to the UK and I’ll do one for you both 🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Big Bro ❤️
I'm amazed that the veneer was in as good shape as that, after all the abuse!
The old finish definitely protected it 😀👍
David, I can't say I don't know how you managed to make that piece of junk into a piece of furniture anyone would be proud to display in their home, because I witnessed it, but all the same, what you did is astounding! Only someone with a true love of the craft could achieve what you do time after time. Love watching you work :-D
Wow, that’s such a nice comment, thanks for your support as always 😀❤️
You sure helped that old girl to shine anew. Outstanding job.
Thanks so much 😀😀
Very impressive that you saw the value in that mess!! Gorgeous!!
Thanks 😀
Awesome job, David.
Thanks very much 😀
To say you brought that "back to life" is an understatement!!! Amazing! I've only seen you and Flipping Drawers. Need to go watch everyone else now with this challenge! So much talent!!!
That’s very kind. Thank you 😀
The grain on that veneer is so gorgeous now -- you can hardly believe what it had become through years of neglect and abuse!
Thanks so much 😀
Astounding! I can’t believe how beautiful you’ve made this trashed piece. The grain is gorgeous!
Thank you very much!😀
Wow!!! Fantastic!!! You have such a love for Daisy!
Thanks, I love my furry pal 😀🐶❤️
Call me crazy, I cried when i saw the end. Its gorgeous!👏👏👏
Awww that’s very nice. You’re not crazy, just appreciative and it’s much appreciated 😀❤️
What a beauty! Someone will love it, I know that I do. Thank you for sharing your art with us, Please keep saving The Old Ones. They deserve a new life.
Thanks very much, someone has actually bought it already 😀👍
A fabulous restoration for certain! As ever…Outstanding! Add us to the Loving precious Daisy List!
Thank you! Will do!🤣🐶❤️❤️
Thank you! Will do!🤣🐶❤️❤️
Damn! That came out GORGEOUS!!! Well done, Dave!
Thanks very much 😀😀
Just WOW! that grain on the drawers is absolutely amazing! I would have been the one who said nothing I can do for this piece 😮👏🏻👏🏻
The grain was a lovely surprise when i got to it 😃😃
As a former refinisher myself, I commend you on your accomplishment! Super workmanship!
That’s very kind, thanks 😀😀
OMG! That dresser is gorgeous. It doesn’t even come close to what it once was. The grain on the veneer is so beautiful. The knobs you picked for it are perfect. Very fine work you did. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟 PS. Enjoyed seeing the Mallard ducks. 3 males n 1 female she’s a smart duck to have so many boes.
Thanks so much Shelly. Those ducks keep me busy, they come to my workshop and quack so I’ll feed them but having 3 Mallards is stressful because they are very aggressive when they get amorous! 😮😮😂😂🦆🦆
It's amazing how beautiful that piece is. You did an absolutely fantastic job.
Thank you so much 😀
GORGEOUS transformation! Who would have thought that beautiful wood was under there!
Not me, it was a really great surprise 😀
Oh my goodness! What a gorgeous end result. The stain you chose is such a warm color. That repair that you did? The only person who’s going to see any fault at all is you. The rest of us see it and love it. Awesome , simply awesome ❤ You do know at the end after you told Daisy no more? She gave you a woof that said, huh! And turned aside to let you know she didn’t agree 😂. Very cute. Thank you for sharing this beautiful redo. I’m blown away. ♥️🇨🇦
Wow Justine, what a lovely comment. I can tell you really enjoyed it which matters a lot to me and Daisy 😀🐶❤️❤️
Holy, chit! That is an amazing restoration! I'm stunned...
Thank you very much!😀❤️
I chuckled along with you David! This was a real piece of art from literally nothing! And the handles were perfect. You are very talented. 👍🤩
You’re very kind d to say that, thanks so much 😀❤️
I’m at a loss for words over that gorgeous grain!! Fantastic job!
The grain was lovely 😀
When you were choosing which colour of stain I was shouting Walnut!! Walnut!! and I was so pleased when you chose walnut. YES!!
I must have heard you subconsciously 😂😂😂
WOW What an Incredible Transformation, You should be Incredibly Proud of Yourself 😊🎉
That’s very kind, thanks very much 😀😀
What a beautiful and very useful piece of furniture you have brought back from dead! It was practically decomposed! Now it looks like it was made yesterday. Fantastic work! ❤
Thanks very much ❤️
Wow, it’s going to be hard to pic a winner….everyone I’ve seen so far has done an outstanding job. This definitely went from trash to beautiful. Someone will treasure this piece for sure.
I agree, I watched all the other videos and they all did a lovely job 😀😀
Daisy is truly adorable. Love her!!❤
Aww thanks 😀😀🐶❤️
A huge WOW!!! I really didn’t think it could be done….you are a master restorer.
Thanks so much 😀😀
I have no words to appreciate your effort David. It has turned out so beautiful and flawless. Thank you for such an interesting transformation video.
Thank you so much 😀
I thought you were very brave taking on these drawers because they truly were a pile of trash! I knew you were talented enough to restore them and make them into a Kings treasure thought, and sure enough you didn’t disappoint. They are stupendous and must be worth a small fortune now. You don’t get quality like that for nothing,……..unless it s trashed lol. Well done David, I was enthralled with the one. You do know that you always have my vote xx Are you opening a petting zoo…ducks, dogs, it will be chickens next lol
Haha thanks so much Lyndsey for your lovely comments as always. My back garden can get like a zoo sometimes but I’m a big softie with all animals so they’re all welcome. 🤣🤣 ❤️❤️
I’m so glad the lot of you are participating in this challenge to restore trashed pieces…and what a restoration this is! The veneer on the drawers is just stunning. This would fit in any manor house or estate now. Beautifully done 👏
Thanks very much Chris, that’s very kind of you 😀👍👍
Wow, it looks spectacular! Especially the wood grain on the front. Gorgeous.
Thank you very much!😀😀
I love everything about it. Lot of work and it is gorgeous. Who would have thought that wonderful wood pattern was there. Good job on the hardware too.
Thank you very much!😀❤️
Unbelievable! That is truly a beautiful piece of furniture now! No one would’ve ever thought that looking at the beginning!
Now it's a beauty: no longer trashed!
😀❤️
dave you are a miracle worker !!!! i cant believe the difference!!!!! awesome save!!!!!
Thanks so much 😀😀
What a transformation! The veneer on the drawers is beautiful!
😀❤️
I don’t know why you don’t have 100k subscribers yet David. You and jay and Barry from Mad City Modern and Modern Makeovers are thee best furniture restoration guys on KZhead. Always top notch and thorough with the most beautiful finish work. Your filming editing and content are so appreciated. Daisy and now the ducks are such a sweet addition too. Love and admiration from SC. ❤️🇺🇸
Thanks Jodi, I wish I did have 100K but it’s going up slowly and surely. Thanks so much for your kind comment moments, it’s much appreciated 😀😀❤️❤️

Yet another miracle! You make it look so easy with all of your knowledge and experience. Same as how Daisy knows how to pick the very best cork! Thank you very much!
That’s very kind, thanks so much 😀🐶❤️
I love watching craftspeople at work. Makes my heart glad watching restoration. Daisy is a darling. Our wee pooch is the same with orange balls, not green, not yellow, orange. Go figure. Daft animal.
Hahaha we should introduce them. Two crazy dogs together 🤣🤣🐶🐶❤️
What a transformation... Look at that grain, it's absolutely stunning!! You've really outdone yourself this time, and gave this piece a brand new life. Well done you!! 😍
Thank you so much!😀❤️
Amazing difference. You would never know it's the same piece
Thanks Sheila 😀😀
That front grain! 😮
😀❤️
Magnificent work - what a transformation. Who would have thought that such a humble, abused and nasty looking piece of garage trash could end up looking like that. A joy to watch you work. Thanks for posting.
Thanks so much 😀😀
WOW!!! What a brilliant job you've done! If I hadn't watched this I wouldn't have believed it was the same piece of furniture. Amazing work!
Glad you liked it!😃😃
Grand job! I confess I fast forwarded straight to the Reveal 😀
Ohhhh Tamar…….thats naughty. I get bad marks from KZhead if you do that 😂
Your craftsmanship shows with this piece. 😊
Thanks so much Maureen 😀😀
Each piece of wood has its own unique beauty. Why do we paint it? I love this gorgeous piece!!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💖💋💖
David, Super job!!! The things you all try to bring back to life!!! You kept at it and did such a super job!! Love sweet Daisy Girl ❤🌻
