I spent 2 weeks in Norway doing some amazing bird photography and what started out as a solo project ended up with a new friendship.
Watch part 2: The Impossible Shot: • The Impossible Shot - ...
This time I am in Norway to visit Jostein Hellevik - also known as Fotobonden from the Norwegian television show. He is an expert in attracting wildlife, and film companies like BBC and National Geographic and photographers from around the world are coming to photograph from his photo blinds.
Filming, photographing, planning and going on trips together. A new friendship has started.
I hope you will enjoy joining us on this 2-week adventure in the nature of Norway.

    • that's a really good advice. Hustle is there in every work you wish to do. And I am practicing these things since three years and I really find the inner peace and solitude in the middle of the woodland. And I am aware that making a living out of art is really hard these days. And there is no guarantee of me reaching where I want to. But still, I wanna walk the path. By the way thanks for the chat dear.

  • I watched a Hollywood film last night and regretted it instantly. Several hundred people in the credits, cost a hundred million to make and it failed miserably like most films. Then I watched this. It's incredibly impressive on every level, and I can't wait until the net episode. The entire production has only two people in the credits?! Simply astounding! Bravo ❤🙏🌞🙌🔥

  • I feel truly humbled when reading through all these beautiful, encouraging and just amazingly heartwarming comments. Everyone of you should know that even though I do not answer all of them I am reading every single one and I appreciate them so much. WHO KILLED THE PIGEONS? We still don't know but I will definitely follow up in the next episode from Norway - and yes if the circumstances allows, I am planning to make more videos in this series. PLEASE BE AWARE If you are feeding the birds in your garden or elsewhere. Do not use bread as we do in this video. Bread is "empty" calories for the birds and do not provide enough fat/nutritions for the birds to survive the winter. If the birds get a lot of bread, it will take up place for the "real food" - just as if we were only eating candy. On this location there are thousands of hectares of untouched forest and plenty of food in nature. The bread we give to the birds is only a fraction of what they eat during a day, and therefore it should be seed as a snack rather than a meal. WHAT GEAR DO I USE IN THE VIDEO? Sorry for not mentioning the gear I am using in the video. I know many are curious about what tripod, tripod head, lens etc. I think there are videos enough on KZhead focussing on gear and tech and even though I am a Nikon Ambassador and that I every so often make a gear video, I do not feel my purpose on this platform is to encourage you to spend your money on new equipment . I would much rather inspire you to get out in nature and get some unforgettable moments with the gear you already have. I am looking so much forward to sharing my future adventures with you. See you out there... All the best Morten

Seriously, the imagery, music and soundscape, and how you weave these trips in to an interesting story makes me jealous every time! I look forward to more winter content as always. The beauty of this world, this nature and its inhabitants is as beautiful as it can be. I am an ecology student and being a naturalist is more than just a lifestyle, so you are my heroes. I am so thankful for people like you who do this work and share it with others. I agree with the other guys who tells that such trips are better than the official channels. It's like living 3 lives simultaneously, one of the cameraman, one of the actor and one of the storyteller. Love you guys! Love you from the bottom of my heart! Greetings from Romania!

  • Stunning videography morton, I think you should contact the BBC to ask them if they'd be interested in commissioning a video from you. I think they probably would pay for something similar to this. They recently had a series on primetime TV self filmed by a canal boat enthusiast and the video and production work wasn't a patch on this. I think this would go down well on mainstream UK TV.

  • What an ethereal experience you have brought to us! Thank you so much Morten for your wonderful storytelling and your ability to share peace with your viewers; I always tell people that nature heals us and these scenes have solidified that belief further. I am in awe of the variety and beauty within Norway, and you have validated my goal to visit one day. The combination of a wide, eagle-eye view of the Norwegian scenery laced with your conversational inputs made for an exceptionally well crafted viewing experience. Thank you again, you have definitely earned a new subscriber for life! Best of luck in all your future endeavors, and hopefully I can one day start a similar journey of exploring nature.

  • One of, if not the, best videos I've seen on KZhead. I stumbled upon this when looking for wildlife photography tutorials, and instead came across this breath-taking film of beautiful nature in an incredible setting. It is lovely to see the enthusiasm and respect you both have, and how such a way of life has been sustainable in the 21st century. Thank you for the ideal escapism. (Would love to know who was picking off the pigeons though!).

  • Thank you Morten as always for yet another incredible story of your adventures !! You really showcase what exactly it takes to capture those amazing wild moments of these beautiful animals and birds instead of only glorifying wildlife photography with photos and gears that are found on other channels and brodcasts.

  • What a lovely place, lovely people... so peaceful and yet full of action. What a lovely video! As much as I enjoyed the bird watching it was so nice to see you taking the time to make friends with the horses and other animals... Funny, just yesterday as I was out in the woods with my camera, taking in all the beautiful autumnal colours that Canada has to offer, I also noticed the many variety of fungi and mushrooms that are so prolific this time of year. Then last evening I settle down to watch your video, (so excited), and what do I see... you taking photos of the fungi as well. :) Too funny! The sun will be up soon now, so I better finish my coffee and get myself 'out there'. Thank you, Morten for following your dreams. Thank you for enriching our lives. Big hug and cheers from Canada!
