Thousands of families left stranded following heavy floods.
The residents are now asking , where is Sakaja? And what’s next?
Witness the shocking scenes unfolding in Kiamaiko, Nairobi County, Kenya, as heavy rainfall turns the roads into raging rivers, reaching unprecedented levels of flooding, causing havoc among its residents. In recent days, relentless downpours have battered Kenya, leaving destruction in their wake, with at least 32 lives tragically lost and over 40,000 individuals displaced from their homes due to the relentless rain and ensuing floods.
Join us as we delve into the heart of this crisis, shedding light on the human impact, the tireless efforts of emergency responders, and the urgent need for support and solidarity in the face of this natural disaster. • Consider investigating whether the flooding we are seeing in Nairobi is a result of the current county Government allowing the reconstruction of buildings on riparian land that were demolished by the previous county Government. For example, at the arboretum. Riparian land is land on the natural flow path of water when it rains. Riparian land is documented by Civil Engineers, surveyors, etc. When buildings are built in riparian land, the natural flow of streams, rivers, etc is blocked. Thus, when it rains, the type of flooding we are seeing may be a direct consequence of blocking the natural flow path of the streams, rivers, etc. Thus, Kenyans in Nairobi may be suffering the consequences of the county Government ignoring the advice of people trained to determine what land should not be built upon. The fix, of course, is to do what the previous county Government did. Demolish all buildings that have been put up on riparian, remove the debris and then clear a path for the natural flow of water when it rains.

  • I wrote this vlog during the Nairobi governor election Between Igathe and Sakaja. Someone just liked it a day ago so it appeared on my notification. I was not quite sure what I wrote but after rereading it, it appears I was foretelling something and was sport on about Sakaja. here it is Post written a year ago according to youtube: I was for Igathe but actually i did not mind Sakaja because i like both their ideas. The choices were not between sakaja Vs sonko or igathe vs sonko then i would have just one choice and worry about the other. Both igathe and sakaja really were on the same page of what realy needs to be done for nairobi. Their ideas were a carbon copy. But what sets them apart is one is a politician and the other a technocrat. The only issue i have with sakaja is he does not become a politician doing politician things. (Aka Waitiutu and many other governors who become fabulously wealthy during their governership). I just hope sakaja does not get captured by the system of compromise and favors like kidero and sonko who both became fabulously wealthy after their governorship to the point whereby kidero had 16 personal accounts used to syphone county funds and the courts refused for the DCI for kidero to make them public. Thats how money buys the courts. As for Sonko no one knows his sources of income but he too is a shady fellow. Nairobi is like running a fortune 500 company. it needs to be run like the private sector with good systems, a competent team in all departments. Without that Nairobi will remain with the same problems it has. I for one i wish he could have a CEO, CFO, and a CTO. What if he brought Igathe to be the CEO to bring in his private sector experience. A Chief financial Officer from the private sector and a Chief technology Officer like the Asian guy who was a candidate for governor. Without a good team Nairobi is going nowhere unless you have the right people in place.

    @daviddavis7959@daviddavis795914 күн бұрын
    • It's fascinating to look back at your insights from a year ago, especially considering recent events. Your observations about Sakaja and Igathe's similarities in ideas, but differences in background, were quite prescient. The emphasis on the need for competent leadership and a well-rounded team to run Nairobi effectively remains relevant. It's a testament to the importance of foresight and understanding the dynamics of governance.

    • I come from the startup background for many years in the US, having co-founded one (that grew pretty fast) as CTO. So your point of a CEO, CFO & CTO resonated, which is why I liked your comment a year later and replied with a 👀 emoji. But I think what Sakaja needs most, is a COO. NMS was that COO. When he kicked them out, I got the impression of someone who doesn't know he has weaknesses and therefore needs to surrounds himself with competent people that cover his gaps, or actually knows about them but they would get in the way of his misuse of resources.

    • @@KenyaTrendingNewsChannel I also dont think the establishment is happy with Sakaja. At a recent function that both the President and Dp attended, the Dp in addressing the fake certificates issue in the civil service. He said. Mr. President not only do we have people working in Govt having fake certificates, but also people seating here with us have also fake certificates. And guess who was also at the podium, Governor Sakaja. I don't think the DP would have made such a statement knowing very well Sakaja had or still has issues with his academic qualifications. The Dp would have confined the fake certificate issue to the civil service but his statement seems to be broad and not just confined to the civil service and I believe this was deliberate by the DP meant to even include Sakaja has having a fake certificate; indirectly sending a message to him that they are not happy with his stewardship of Nairobi. In politics optics and what you say have an indirect meaning. Sakaja may have also fallen out in favor with the administration. Even UDA mp's have come out speaking against their displeasure with Sakajas governance.

  • You should consider investigating whether the flooding we are seeing in Nairobi is a result of the current county Government allowing the reconstruction of buildings on riparian land that were demolished by the previous county Government. For example, at Aboretum.

  • It's high time kenyans realize it's them and only them to help themselves,the problem we have is depending on politicians..no lasting amount of help a politician can give to over 30,000 affected households,be it food or shelter,it's just for a day or two....let's wake up kenyans,i really pity those who have their rural areas up with huge chunks of land for agriculture but kuenda kuteseka tao in the name of hawawezi kaa ushago😢yet wanateseka nairobi ata kuliko venye angeteseka ushago..it's your life and not someone else's..if you thought grass would be greener in nairobi and have tried for 10+yrs in the mabati houses yet no change,kindly if you have ushago go back and restructure yourself,lima ata kama unaishi nyumba ya udongo,ile time utajiskia fiti kidogo kurudi tao get a deceny house atleast😢for those who don't have where to go just continue pushing,it's you vs you,we'll continue to pray for those affected bt rem politicians won't help you
