    • It can be done by just a little bit of orderliness in the CBD.He need to work on the markets in the estates to accommodate those hawkers and come up with ways of controlling traffic jam.By doing that he will have solved almost 70 % of the problems talked about because there would be few gabbages blocking the drainage system and making the cbd filthy.

What you see here in Nairobi is nothing compared to Lagos,Nigeria with a population of 22 million which is now pushing towards the creeks and land reclamation from the sea to ease down the chaos.Nairobi can overcome this with the right urbanisation policy in place but this will cost money....a lot of money.

Like 'Why you beat your wife?'' ...''Oh, my neighbour beat his wife too and even in America I saw a man beat his wife''.....STOP IT! We are a country that had the largest economy than South Korea in 1978 and even gave them a Loan back in the 70S AFTER TO RECOVER FROM THE WAR(GOOGLE IT) Why not compare Kenya and it's cities to that then ? We don't compare ourselves to mediocrity to feel better. Be smart

    • Yeah, bring Lagos/Nigeria into it just to make yourself feel better with the disaster that is Nairobi. Shirking your responsibilities and obfuscating is what you the rest of Africa are very good at doing. Whenever your short-comings are exposed, you all bring Nigeria/Nigerians into it even when it's got nothing to do with Nigeria/Nigerians just to deflect and take attention away from your problems. That's what you all do as fellow Africans, and that's why in the case of Kenya as seen in this video, you have that quotidian chaos that is the defining characteristic of that overrated/over-documented capital city called Nairobi. Lagos/Nigeria is doing fine. I would like to let you know. Lagos/Nigeria recognizes its problems and it's doing a lot to find solutions to those problems.

Once all this is done we can start afresh!

  • This madness started in 1990, 34 years later and this is the aftermath of poor urban development planning. Nairobi’s population in 1990 was 1.3 million compared to the current population of 5.4 million, it’s time for other counties to to be developed so that other services can be decentralized. The same system that works in the west. Though we have a long way to go.

When they ask Kenyans abroad to come back home, why would anyone come home with this madness- you can't drive without potholes, stima kupotea every second, if you walk they steal from you, traffic...oh my gosh...traffic. I was there 4 years ago and it took 3 hours from westlands to nairobi city center! I'm not even kidding you! Once you get used to being in a first world and not having to deal with extreme inconvenience, this then becomes intolerable...coz it's a choice...a choice of leaders

  • Fastest growing Yes. Beautiful city Yes. Historical city Yes. BUT - what is desperately missing from the onset is Organized Urban Design and Infrastructure. With the current floods this country is presently facing, upgraded water pipes, infrastructure, drainage , traffic redirection, overhead walking for pedestrians, central location for all bus pickups, sidewalk and street repair is desperately needed. Hopefully it will be implemented soon.

  • Over population, bad town planning, high rise buildings in one place causes chaos in most African cities..... A lot still needs to be done but its still a beautiful city, i love the fact that you hardly see litre/plastics its fairly clean... Bus/taxi drivers are the same throughout the continent, rude and arrogant...

  • Try and watch old footage of Nairobis central district. From the 60' and 70'. Things were way mere organized at that time. I hink you can guess why Yes, that was when there were still wazungu organizing things. Sadly, Kenyans have been unable to follow in their footsteps.
