As someone who very much does dabble in software some would consider "less than trustworthy", I really appreciate Kaspersky's ability to distinguish false positives from actual threats.
Same
Truee. I even tried it on a cracked game from a legit site its not detecting any threats on it because there are no virus included in it.
It looked like a couple keygens/cracks were included in the malware samples and did execute correctly
As someone who very much does dabble I love running it in a WINE sandbox and not worrying about something that cannot execute on my host. Don't need AV software over here.
@notjustforhackers4252 it'd be a real shame if some ransomware decided to access your z drive... or of it started doing stuff on the network to other devices, among other things that would still work under wine. Wine's not exactly on the level of running in a virtual machine. You can configure access to make it more sandboxed but it's not 100% foolproof against stopping malware spreading/affecting. You may also get a false sense of security if a malware's payload doesn't run correctly in wine. Also, if you are using a cracked .exe for a program that doesn't run correctly under wine, how can you validate it?
It's incredible how Kaspersky keeps getting better and better every day
Meanwhile people who swallow US propaganda will say that Kaspersky is trash😂.

It brought me great joy to see a Kaspersky video after a long time, but for the year 2023-2024, there should be a competition involving both Bitdefender and a combination of Bitdefender/Kaspersky in the realm of comprehensive antivirus solutions. I suggest a challenge focusing on protection levels, virus detection in both online and offline environments, and the recovery of infected systems. I eagerly anticipate videos of this nature. 😊
+1. Although I'm quite sure bitdefender might now hold up the flag high as Kaspersky but it will be interesting.

Kaspersky behaviour detection is good but not as good as it was in version 21.3 it have been a bit sluggish in newer version but hope they improve behaviour detection and their signature detection
@@Snowwolfow I've been using Kaspersky for many years. And using it now. Nothing has changed. Same level of performance as always. No problems with it at all. On the contrary, Kaspersky is the only program on my PC that hasn't changed. Somehow Google chrome, Razer software, and Nvidia Experience became way more intrusive and resource hogging like no tomorrow. I'm being bombarded with pop ups updates and attemps to log me in with those aps. That has actually been slowing my PC greatly. Unfortunately it is a legitimate software, so Kaspersky doesn't detect them as viruses. Might have to delete it manually...
You did an amazing job, this is the best channel about Anti virus tests!. I'm so excited to see the same test with other AVs

Can you do this same exact test with Bitdefender? I currently use the Bitdefender Family Pack which uses Bitdefender Total Security. I would love to see the results!
That'd be great. I recently started using Bitdefender's free version since I'm a cheapskate, and I'd love to see how it holds up in 2023.
BitDefender is used by the NSA along with other western AV's (has been leaked by E. Snowden), the best AV is Kaspersky, because it is not connected to the NSA and USA. So you will not have your data leaked at a moments notice ( just remember if you are using Windows , you have to also turn off Windows trackers manually. A clean Windows install does way more spying than any other AV, or a virus would ever do).

Nice video and signed up as well, thank you
I have been using Kaspersky for over 10 years it as never let me down.
The best of the best. Kaspersky saved my laptop from malware attack. I used Norton, it didnt prevent the malware from entering the system. I could even install K on a infected system.
Kaspersky was my first experience using an anti-virus, it came free for a year with a laptop I purchased in like 2015. It was a great experience as a teenager and I've always said good things about it and it's good to see it still holds up.
Lol Kaspersky is the best Antivirus in the market 😂
Hi! Great video, as always. I am a user of Kaspersky Endpoint Security Cloud Plus, and wanted to know your opinion: Do you think that it is based on the same database as their consumer products, or on a different one?
Yes, it's the same database and same protection components - the endpoint security products just add a bunch of administration and deployment features to enable businesses to run it on hundreds or thousands of computers.
I have used several antiviruses like Norton, AVG, Panda, Bitdefender and Avast, but all ended slowing my computers over the course of years until i tried Kaspersky some years ago and never went back. The protection havls been excellent with no performance hit. The other day i dowloaded what i thought was a real mod for a game but it started to make random files and add troyans, Kaspersky detected and rem 4:44 oved all. This for the free version so i have not tested all of the features.
This is why I am happy with Kaspersky. I had a virus that can't be deleted by other AV that stays at Common files folder, accumulating a big chunk of file size overtime. Then I tried Kaspersky and it does the job done and at the same time very lightweight. I've been using Kaspersky Total Security for 4 years now in all of my computers. Saved me countless times.
Go Kaspersky 🙂
Thank you for the Test. Is it possible, that you can run the same Test with G DATA Total Security? Please 🙂
i would like to see this test with Bitdefender. great video!
Can you please do this with every antivirus? I've got McAfee with my laptop purchase, and my family uses Norton, before they used Avast. Much love broski.
kaspersky is the best, top class performance and protection, $2.5/year per machine - insane value and excellent for peace of mind, especially these days they were great when free but surprisingly you can get their paid service usually for $15 bucks for 2 years protection on 3 machines don't really use windows anymore but the price is great to protect the family
How do you get it so cheap wth
@@yt_user1772just type in "kaspersky 3 device 2 year" in google and click shopping tab, should find something
Kaspersky probably the only anti virus that has genuinely protected my computers, Avast used to be good but once it started allowing malware to infect my PC and sub-sequentially hijack my email to spam lots of ads, that was probably when I just gave up and went with Kaspersky once and for all despite the price of it, at the end of the day, its a small fee to pay just so I wont have to keep backups once a week to prevent this nonsense.
I was about to type the exact same thing. Avast is decent too, but I started paying for Kaspersky years ago to have a license and full on security, haven't had an issue since, I can torrent my media as well, and the second i get some hidden miner or anything that can damage any files, Kaspersky is there to save the day for me. I haven't done a Windows reinstall on any of my 3 computers running the program in like 13 years lol. It's doing its job, might be the only AV software that isn't a complete resource hog either. Competent program for sure.
@@SyncF Yes thats another critique of Avast, past 4 years its really started to bloat when it comes to resources uses, my old 2011 gamer laptop was starting to choke a bit with Avast, but I never see Kaspersky hog the resources, only when it does its scan once a month and it seems to know when I am not using the laptop and does the scan in those hours, pretty neat, I just hope its not Putin watching me through the webcam
I'm worried to change to NORTON @SyncF I've been using kaspersky almost 3, 4 years And then I installed something and I noticed my cpu usage was too high doing nothing I tried to analize use o internet and so one.. I decided to install NORTON and as soon I installed it it catched a virus and my cpu usage got good again so I'm worried to payied and them I think I'll let kasperky go It has protect me for years but idk It Might because of western society boycott got them out of money so that their protections nowadays seems poor. My fear is that Norton is like avast right? I got many problems with avast back in time
Avast was NEVER good. Maybe avast 4 when windows xp was around? But after that it was kinda mehhhhhhhh..... other AVs were much better.
@@yt_user1772 Similarly Norton was also never good.
Kaspersky is a great av regardless people try to portray it as a spyware.
What AV would you recommend mainly for on-demand scans and that can have it's realtime protection permanently shut down, if needed (unlike Windows Defender)? I am currently using Malwarebytes, but I don't know how it holds up compared to Kaspersky, or BitDefender, or some other good solution. Do you know of any reliable source that compares these? I know you tested both BitDefender and Malwarebytes, but idk how up to date those videos are.
I switched from Bitdefender to Kaspersky a few months back. It was really difficult on BT to exclude certain harmless 'infected' .exes from running, whereas now, thats not an issue.
We all waiting for this thank you pc security channel

Hello, I was just wondering if we could get a Bitdefender Total Security updated test. I am between using certain AV and anti-malware services right now and it's a tough decision. Also, I think just for testing purposes. Windows 11 Canary has more security options in the settings. Also, they have way more definition and heuristic definitions in Windows 11 Canary. I would love to see a video on both of those. This is just a request of course and I enjoy your channel for mitigating malware and putting security first!
FINALLYYYY
what network setting do you use on your VM to run these tests? Bridged or NAT?
Would like to see how windows defender performs like this! Amazing video !
What part about PC security do you really enjoy, besides the obvious benefit of security? There's so much you have to do nowadays to have decent privacy and security, but no matter how much you learn, new things pop up all the time that you have to learn about to protect yourself, it drives me nuts. I admire your resolution to get so good at this.
Do you have your collected samples available for download anywhere? I'd love to perform some tests of my own with such a large database.

Could please make a video on BitDefender and ESET with same same set of malware? Also mention about impact of these softwares on system performance. Thanks

What it looks like is the miner is being spawned from the parent process. And that process has a watchdog capability checking if the miner is running or not. And if not it tries to spawn a new process.

I have been using Kaspersky since 2009 as my main security software both on my Windows and Android devices and I have used Norton and ESET as well. The massive ocean of features and technologies that Kaspersky comes with along with its security is truly unbeatable! I once openly challenged the user forum of Norton and ESET to beat Kaspersky but with a condition that anyone who can do that will handover a full year's salary to me and it will be legally recorded as a pre-agreed condition. I also mentioned that I would do the same if Kaspersky got beaten. All the people who had initially accepted the challenge backed out after the legal matters were put forth. The number of respondents was 1,837. Kaspersky is that level of God!
So which one is the best: Kaspersky or Malwarebyes?

Should I use Kaspersky and Microsoft defender at same time? Is Kaspersky better than defender overall and less resource heavy?
Defender will turn itself off if it detects another AV running so no it is not possible
What bahabak said. I just did a fresh install of windows 11 and Kaspersky and defender was automatically turned off. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
microsoft defender turns off, if its detects another av. pro tip for future: never run multiply anti virus programms at the same time. just use 1 good one. 2 av can literally fuck themselves up and it might be a virus coming thourgh that. had that some years ago by a neighor who had a problem with his pc, he downloaded a file, which was infected, those anti viruses both detecded it and wanted to delete it automaticly, but since they both wanted to do the same thing, their services crashed so both didn't work because of that, and the pc got infected. try the same thing again with the same file over an virutal machine, same problem. tried it again with only one of them active, no crash, file got deleted.
