I thought Krejcikova would be here from the amszing run she had in Dubai where she beat world number 1,2 and 3. But seems like she had no other top 5 wins.

Si en un inicio le fue bien luego se bajo en la semifinales de la us open, que culpa tiene ella de subir al top1, más merito le daba a elena o coco, bueno ya la reina volvió a su trono.
any player who has reached number 1 deserves it. stop taking away achievements from people, when you can’t do even a fraction of what they have done…
To be fair, Sabalenka made it the SF of all GS tournaments this year. The best that all other players could do is to reach the SF of a GS tournament once. However, Sabalenka only reached the SF stage in 5 out of the other 12 tournaments she played. This brings me to my main point that during 2023 is that top 5 players rarely played against each other as few reached the SF stage on a consistent basis (except for Iga who reached the SF stage at 13 out of the 18 tournaments she played in 2023).
There are a lot of gaps between the top 10 itself and a lot of "women's tennis things", positive or not that's smth for the viewer analyses. Ex: top 4 plays better than top 1 and losses easily to top 15 who's constantly destroyed by the same top 1, specific game disparities says everything but try to explain that to someone who knows tennis by men's tennis where there's a general standard then go there to bet try to predict women's tennis 😂
Barty was an exception
honestly, this year WTA was easier to predict than ATP. So many wierd things happened with Ruud, Rune or Auger Aliassime, top 10 but unable to win a single match for a long time. Shelton being top20 thanks to 2 tournements, Mannarino having his best season at 35, Struff going into a M1000 finale on CLAY from nowhere etc..
1:10 - 1:45 - looks like Sabalenka was moved from men's category
