Some protesters on Wednesday stormed the National Assembly in Abuja to register their displeasure over the outcome of the February 25 presidential election in Nigeria.
The protesters, who carried placards with the various inscriptions such as ‘Save our Democracy’, “Politicians are killing our Democracy,” “INEC killing the Nigerian Democracy,” among others, reiterated their earlier call for the annulment of the 2023 presidential election.
The protest, which took off from the Unity Fountain in Maitama, paralyzed vehicular movement in the heart of the nation’s capital for hours.
When I saw this I shed tears and at the same time proud of Nigerians that are in the street may our Labour never be in vain amen

Sorry, this is grossly insufficient and will prove to be very inadequate very soon. The protest to reclaim this mandate can't be ANYTHING less than MASSIVE. we do anything less, rogue Nigerian state actors will soon send rogue soldiers to harass and even kill protesters. This is why, while I commend the effort of all the people making this particular protest to happen, I want to counsel that before staging any protest for reclaiming this mandate, that we sit down and first strategize on how to galvanize and mobilize a record breaking number (in tens of millions) for the protest. In Nigeria as in other places, you can't hold a protest that aren't so massive as to overwhelm rogue state actors. All protests must be synched into one. This coming protest must envision a #NigerianSpring if any meaningful thing is to be achieved.
