Building a 3.5L 2JZ with Dart's NEW Cast Block! 2000hp Build
We have a series of tests planned to do with this engine in the near future, many of those surrounding the fact that this is a big bore, big stroke, 3.5L 2JZ which isn't your standard 3.2 or 3.4 combination. Now all that Dart block needs is a big bore head casted by AFR, Canfield, or Edelbrock with ports developed by Tony Mamo and Darin Morgan. It would be game over. The development and release of this block is 20 years late, but better late than never.

About 17:50 ~ interesting to see the priming of the oil pump there. I've never seen it done quite that way before. Of course it makes perfect sense, it's a very good way to do it, I've just never seen it done like that. Learned something, thanks.

I would like to see Dart step up into the Nissan RB blocks as I’d love to build a Dart iron block RB30 SOHC build, I have been saying that my following Pro-Street Aussie car might go from it’s Dart 434 SBC to a Dart 2JZ for something a little different like my other Aussie RB30 car. Shoutout to Hanz for really helping me out with a 3.2 2jz stroker engine he recently helped me select some RS dlc 1600 pistons along with R&R aluminum rods with Honda journals and the PHR v45 turbo manifold don’t know what I would have done without him!!

Appreciate the gearhead asmr of taking such care assembling, but the block flexing on the stand while con rod caps get torqued has got to be a massive oversight. On a side note it makes me wonder why no aftermarket company has tried a cradle for the mains like a honda k motor has. All said and done its a thing of beauty.

Block looks pretty stout! It had better be for a $4500 casting, but I'd imagine it should hold a good deal over 2K hp.. one way to find out! Cant wait to see more down the road.

Is the crankshaft oil seal a regular rubber one? Why didn't you use PTFE oil seal?

This is definitely gonna shake up the game. Iron blocks even tho heavier are more rigid. Better for sealing.

I've been looking forward to this! Steel rods for 2000hp? That's 333hp per rod O.O
We've used those rods at 300hp a cylinder in the past. Lets see how far we can push them! Part number on those rods is : BC6300HD
It would be interesting to see a dyno graph overlay of the 3.4 and the 3.5 with the same turbo.

thats one way to make sure you have oil pressure before starting and the top end is receiving oil
They didnt add oil squirters on the bottom end? Can u put a windage tray on the lower end?

Now this is amazing. I am going to build another motor on the side for my 2jz swapped DCT E90 M3. Currently a 3.0 liter. Is the 3.5 maybe to torquey for a street application? I am currently at 1100whp
I think it depends on some other factors and your specific application. Would be a blast being so torquey!
What factors would you think would hinder or increase? It is a true car on a big tire and it has a good traction control system using maxxecu. It has power steering, and AC and all of the factory can bus working on the car like OEM. I am not opposed to a bigger motor I just don't want to keep breaking things from the torque. I do also have a built Ford 8.8 rear end with G force axles and a one piece aluminum driveshaft. I'm just worried about breaking transmission internals it is a F80 M3 DCT
I'd say gear ratios have a big part to play in deciding this also. Like you mentioned, more torque also opens the door to breaking things. Give us a call and we'd love to chat about how we can help on your build!
@@realstreetperformance I will, I have been working with Moe for 7 years. I have a very tall ratio. I do 60 rolls in 2nd gear at 4000 rpm and rev to 8500 on my current setup
