    • @@jooohan Nick is a generational talent, my friend! Maybe even as talented as Roger. In a sense, Grigor is too. But i believe NK is even more talented. He just refused to put in serious work for almost the entirety of his career. Drunk a lot, not sleeping well. Basically being almost totally unprofessional(in comparison with others that have high goals). Though with an absurd serve and a game totally fit for grass. Which is the surface most top guys suck at due to lack of experience playing at it(so few venues). Alcaraz couldn't play. Medvedev, Tsitsipas couldn't even smell grass, let alone play in it. Zverev was out. Berrettini(proven grass player) was also out due to covid and Rafa withdrew from the SF. What are we even talking about? It's totally different right now. Kyrgios had all the luck in the world to get there. And it's really rare for someone to be so lucky again. But hey, maybe Dimi has even grown to the point that he doesn't need that kind of luck. And believe me, i hope that he has! I love watching him play and will be totally supporting him tomorrow. I like Sinner as well, but he doesn't "need it" as much as Grigor. @Carlos.Eduardo.Schardijn@Carlos.Eduardo.SchardijnАй бұрын
    • @@Carlos.Eduardo.SchardijnOHB is much harder to perfect than a two-hander, also much harder for kids to play consistently when first getting into tennis, causing a switch even if they like the one-hander more. I know many people who have been playing tennis on and off for 10-15 years, perfect forehand, perfect slice, OHB inconsistent af. Talking about the one-hander, it's no wonder we saw Tsonga, Dustin Brown and Monfils going for one-handers down the line or cross court multiple times when in bad situations, it just has a much bigger variety of angles to play with than a two-hander, hence why even players who play both groundstrokes with two hands can never come into the top 50 or 100, because they are too limited in defense and offense.

Not because "only two hands can give the power and control needed to compete at the highest level", which is total nonsense, as many top players have shown in many matches in recent years. The shot is dying simply because it is taught to 0 kids out of 1000. That's not based on merit, but simply on numbers. • Really happy for Grigor. Ever since Roger retired, I feel like Grigor is the "representative" of that game style, which is so pure and beautiful to watch. Although, I think Roger had more to his game, more variety, flair, and maybe a slight bit better execution and footwork (we're talking maybe less than 1%, but still). Great to see this from Grigor, although I think he's going to struggle against Jannik.

  • Sinner has gotten to a level that Djoko and Rafa got to at their peaks: 1) A high base level of performance that allows him to win consistently regardless of which side of the bed he wakes up from 2) Ability to not just have a game plan for each individual opponent, but to execute this plan above ~75% As of now, Alcaraz/Rune does not have number 1 and Medvedev does not have number 2.
