Sugar Sean O’Malley: UFC’s rising star on why he feels he won despite the no contest, the story behind face tattoos, pink hair, skittle Lamborghinis & having an open marriage.
Hours after UFC 276 event in Vegas, we sat down with bantamweight star, Sugar Sean O’Malley, after his fight against Pedro Munhoz was ruled a no contest.
Explaining his disappointment in the outcome of his pay per view fight and his disagreement in the fight being called after an alleged eye poke…he is able to share the positive side that he was able to mentally break his opponent and describing in detail why he feels he won the fight.
Ryan, who was at the live event, breaks down the fights of the night with Sean and shares how he’s been a long time fan of Sugar Sean the fighter and his new found respect for him as a person.
Dropping out of high school and moving from Montana to Arizona to chase his UFC dream, Sean talks about the risk vs reward of controlling your own destiny and how his climb to fame and success has been steady.
In a honest and dynamic conversation, Sean explains his take on why he chooses to have an open marriage with his wife Dani and his perspective on why building love doesn’t have to follow the strict rules of marriage and religion. Channing jokes that he needs his advice to convince his wife of this perspective, while Fred asks how that philosophy may change over time now that Sean has a daughter and what his parenting practices will be when it comes to that situation.
The Pivot Podcast drops new episodes every Tuesday at Noon eastern with special drops on Fridays at 3p. Streaming on KZhead, Spotify, Apple and all audio platforms. Follow on IG, Twitter and Tik Tok for updates and behind the scenes footage.
