    • He will be… probably after he’s dead unfortunately. The 2nd greatest undrafted free agent of all time (behind Kurt Warner), and the best at his position.

  • I was right down on the goal line when Priest scored number 27. In my memory, he hesitates just a fraction of a second to take it all in and then struts in for the record. Wore his jersey for Red Friday today. 31 was so great his QB wanted to throw blocks for him!

  • This was an amazing interview. I get a real kick out of hearing players stories about their career and after their playing career. This interview has captured the part of Priest Holmes that that alotnis didn't get to know about. Thanks for this interview.

  • I just saw this interview with Priest Holmes and enjoyed it immensely. I agree with many of the comments here that he belongs in the NFL HOF. I attended the 1991 Texas High School Football Semi-final Playoff Game between Odessa Permian HS, Texas (Friday Night Lights) and John Marshall HS San Antonio. Anthony (Priest) Holmes was the star running back for Marshall HS. Although Permian won the game I came away thinking I had just witnessed the next Tony Dorsett. Without a doubt he was clearly the best, most talented kid on the field. Since I m a huge Texas Longhorn fan I was really happy he committed to play football at the University of Texas, but he didn't really play a lot because of injuries. When he was drafted as a free agent by the Baltimore Ravens in 1997 he began to show what a gifted and talented running back and receiver he was. He was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs, and now we know the rest of the story.

  • 2nd jersey I ever bought, #31. I loved watching him run behind Tony Richardson. The two were so in sync, Priest would put his hand on Tony's back, and when Tony made that key block, Priest was off to the races. Before Pat Mahomes, that was the best time to be a Chiefs fan.

  • Such a physical freak. It's astonishing how soft-spoken he seems in this interview. This dude is a different dude on the field. And he excelled in an era of great running backs. Broke all-time NFL records as an undrafted player. Amazing player and human.
