met him in the LV airport, around 2016, both of us heading back to Honolulu and he came up and sparked a conversation after he saw I had a certain NFL team shirt, he said his team was the Vikings. I stopped following UFC but I recognized him enough and asked him if he was Holloway, he grinned and said "yeah, that's me". He had a knot on the side of his head and looked as if he fought but he said he was there for his gym. He was already an up and coming fighter but he flew back on coach and as every person will say, he is the coolest local boy you will ever meet. I wish I got a picture with him. Started watching UFC again because of him, good luck Max! you definitely first class braddah!

I just met him in a store a couple weeks ago. I went to a store to buy a chain for my son for his birthday. Max was in there with his wife. I said “Oh the champ is here” and he acknowledged but I just decided he didn’t want to be bothered and I went about my business. MAX struck up a conversation with me, “what you buying bro”. He was the coolest most geniune braddah. Of course I politely asked him for a picture after and he was all for it. Almost like he was expecting it. Braddah is 100% Aloha. 🤙🏼.

Bruddah, meth was ALL OVER Hawaii in the 80's. Waianae, Waipahu, Pearl City, Kalihi, and Waimanalo, Mililani, and Hawaii Kai. Rich people, poor people, smart people, dumb people were taking meth. There were doctors, lawyers, teachers, college professors who were smoking ice back then. I was in college during that time, and guys who were nerds in high school was sucking the pipe. I worked with guys who would go smoke during lunch break.
This is becoming all too common in nowadays society. Most country’s developed or not are suffering from this issue and shit is sad.

The hero’s we look up to. I come from a foster home after the government took me away from my mom at 15. She also had her problems. After dropping out of 9. Grade and spending 3 years doing drugs and partying, I decided to take action. Now I’m 26, and I’m on my 4. Semester of law school. Nothing is impossible, if you really want it enough. I had good girlfriends around me to push me in the right directions, but otherwise, I did it all myself. It’s worth noticing that I live in Denmark, so school is free. Your grades are what get you in. Keep fighting everyone 🤙🏼 Have a great Sunday.

I got to say I didn't know some of those details of Max's background. All I knew was that he was a brother from a different island than I. Much respect to Max for opening up like that and being honest, humble...and for sure being 100% real. That's a true champion.

Thank u max- I grew up north shore Oahu Kahuku-ended up pregnant before I graduated high school and on crystal meth for years. Like your mom did-thank god- I cleaned up-changed my life! My son is your age & I get grandkids. Wish I had seen this video back in the day. This was inspiring my brother!
