Freddie Wong is one of my favorite creators in the world. I got to sit down with him and chat about the old youtube days, how he builds teams, and what's going on with his podcast @dungeonsanddaddies.

  • So much of their start can be attributed to their landlord. He was the chilliest and coolest dude (still is today) landlord ever. He was about the arts and supported the artists.

  • Hey! Great interview! I had no idea Freddie was behind Dungeons and Daddies. Love this peek behind the scenes. Could we have a "making of" where we follow creators through one iteration of whatever it is they're making? I'd love to see a start to published podcast episode, music video, or any other kind of creative project. Would be fun to see!

  • Freddie's interviews over the past couple years have been so excellent to watch! Being an OG KZheadr AND showing everyone that you can bring movie-level VFX to short form content, he has such an incredible insight into both the creator industry and the traditional film and television industry - I grew up watching him and it's so cool to see his journey! Can't wait for more groundbreaking stuff from him. This was an awesome interview!

  • Excellent conversation from two "cewebrity" experts. Also, two guys who have taken a bunch of at-bats and done a bunch of different things! (e-sports player/filmmaker/D&D podcaster, musician/KZhead influencer/tech founder?) I made a video essay about Video Game High School and Rocketjump, and I wish I could go back and include some clips from this!

  • Im glad you got this opportunity to get with freddiew. Schlatt proved recently that freddie still has the power to captivate all of us. I think he puts his skill too down, as even though it was corny it was intentionally so and thats what made me comfortable and let my guard down when watching his videos.

  • I agree with what he’s saying about how making KZhead videos is so difficult today. Back then, you could upload whatever you wanted, a funny cat video, a poor effects irl video games, a comedy skit. Even all the way back in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017. Now KZhead is basically higher production videos, web series, documentaries, even well edited let’s plays. It’s crazy and it’s awesome, but it’s hard to do it alone anymore. Media is mad. I’m an author, but I run a minor KZhead channel. I started it years ago and would just upload gaming and documentaries, audiobooks. But even one video depending on the length took days to edit. I was doing it all by myself. I was having to upload multiple times a week, sometimes 3 videos a week. I couldn’t do it. I had to search for a good editor to do it for me so I could do other stuff. It’s almost on the verge of short film-tv shows. Twitch is just garbage tbh. I tried it for three months, streamed regularly. It’s so hard to grow an audience and you basically have no life, always streaming all day. No thanks. Id rather have a life.
