  • He is a dream guest and the best player ever in every way. Thank you for talking to him. I just hope he finally gets the recognition he deserves. One American journalist wrote a few years ago, about him being unfarly treated - that if Novak was American, he would have been recognised as a legend of sport, not just tennis. Today's sport is too much about money and indorsement deals, being advertised in the media more than what acctual results are. The simple fact is: the best Novak is unbetable by anybody and I wonder when are journalists going to stop glorifying Federer and Nadal over him?

  • So imagine you are Dimitrov back in 2003, 12 years old, full of hopes and dreams, saying "when I grow up I'm going to win a major". Little did he know the big 3 would be like: "nah bruh, you ain't winning shit son!". And they virtually shut it down for 3 generations of players (except Safin, Cilic, Del Potro, Murray and Wawrinka have managed to get a few scraps). Federer, Nadal and Djokovic have won 51 of the last 60 majors on a span of 15 years. That is insane and depressing for the likes of Dimitrov, Goffin, Raonic, Ferrer, Tsonga and so on lol.

    @napchill@napchill5 жыл бұрын
    • Dominic Thiem incoming threat for current era. Surely he is the only one i can think of who will stop him in couple of years of time. Can't think of any other who would compete for slam. Nadal and Fed past their peaks. Dimitrov and Raonic not working hard enough. Thiem and zverev are the only two i think will win slams and might dominate for few years.

      @kieran1990able@kieran1990able5 жыл бұрын
    • I agree, but Zverev is part of the 4th generation, in the context of my comment (3 generations after Federer). Lucky for him when he enters his prime in about 4 years (he'll be 25) the big 3 will most likely be significantly diminished. Thiem better hurry though if he wants to be a multi slam winner, he's already 25...

      @napchill@napchill5 жыл бұрын
    • Djoko still vulnerable against next-gen players anyway. zverev, nick ,stefanos, chung you name it. and the other like tiafoe, shapo, rublev ,fritz etc who he never played before. i like to see he beat all of them first.

Consider the fact that Federer was the World No.1 for 5 consecutive years, winning 16 grandslams out of 22 Finals, in a span of 26 tournaments, with no less than 23 consecutive semi-finals during the same span. Nadal, on the other hand, was a top 2 player from May 2005 to November 2009, briefly losing his No. 2 ranking to Murray, while he was injured. Djokovic was stuck at World No. 3 from 2007 to 2011. Federer and Nadal will always be the objective GOATS.

    • @@FirstPlace97 lol yeh djokovic was stuck at number 3 then in 2011 at age 23 he grew to become the machine that he is dominating a prime age 29 year old Federer. Since 2011 novak has 13 slams to Federers 4.. 3 of which came in the last couple years while novaks been out.

      @danielskoric4373@danielskoric43735 жыл бұрын
    • Federer was not "prime" in 2011. In fact, Federer was the only man beating Djokovic at important tournaments that year. He destroyed Novak at Roland Garros, even though Novak had a walkover in the QFs, proving that Roger is indeed the second greatest clay court player of the era. He should have beat Novak at the US Open semis, but that's another one of the inexplicable 5 set collapses. So, in short, Novak dominated a weak era with an old Federer and injured Nadal, Murray and Del Potro. Yet, Federer still had more success up to the age of 28!

To me winning RG in 2019 sounds like tough task! I feel like Thiem or Zverev will be more problematic for Novak than even Rafa himself! But we'll see! As for remaining two...i am skeptical he will defend both, mostly skeptical on US Open...Although i shall admit the one thing i want him badly to achieve is RG-Wimbledon sweep! Borg did it thrice, Rafa and Roger once! I hope Novak still can do it as well!

  • List of some Greatest Career Achievements by Novak Djokovic: 1. Djokovic is THE ONLY PLAYER that has better score H2H against Nadal and Federer: - Djokovic - Nadal 27:25 - Djokovic - Federer 24:22 2. The numbers prove Novak’s DOMINANCE in the last 8 years. He has won 14 Grand Slam (major) titles and is tied for the 3-rd most in the Open Era. Since Australian Open in 2011 Novak has won 13 out of 14 Grand Slams, one more than Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer combined. In comparison, Nadal has won 8 Grand Slams and Roger Federer has won only 4 Grand Slams as follows: Year - Australian Open - Roland Garros - Wimbledon - US Open 2011. Novak Djoković (2/14) - Rafael Nadal (10/17) - Novak Djoković (3/14) - Novak Djoković (4/14) 2012. Novak Djoković (5/14) - Rafael Nadal (11/17) - Roger Federer (17/20) - Andy Murray (1/3) 2013. Novak Djoković (6/14) - Rafael Nadal (12/17) - Andy Murray (2/3) - Rafael Nadal (13/17) 2014. Stan Wawrinka (1/3) - Rafael Nadal (14/17) - Novak Djoković (7/14) - Marin Cilic (1/1) 2015. Novak Djoković (8/14) - Stan Wawrinka (2/3) - Novak Djoković (9/14) - Novak Djoković (10/14) 2016. Novak Djoković (11/14) - Novak Djoković (12/14) - Andy Murray (3/3) - Stan Wawrinka (3/3) 2017. Roger Federer (18/20) - Rafael Nadal (15/17) - Roger Federer (19/20) - Rafael Nadal (16/17) 2018. Roger Federer (20/20) - Rafael Nadal (17/17) - Novak Djoković (13/14) - Novak Djoković (14/14) 3. He is the ONLY ONE in tennis history to hold all 4 (four) Grand slams on 3 (three) different surfaces at once! 4. Djokovic is the FIRST AND ONLY PLAYER since the 1973 ATP rankings were introduced to have accrued 16,950 points, more than the world number 2 and 3 combined! 5. He is the FIRST AND ONLY PLAYER that has won Masters titles at all 9 venues where Masters tournaments are held, achieving the career Golden Masters, and has won multiple Masters titles in 8 different tournaments. The list of his records goes on and on… The only one he is missing now to become the GREATEST PLAYER EVER IN THE HISTORY OF THE TENNIS GAME is the TOTAL NUMBER OF Grand Slam titles. If he continues to play the way he has done it in the last few months, he could reach that goal within next 2-3 years. What Rafa’s and Roger’s fans will say then?

    • There are also individual tournament records, which also count! For example 6 titles at AO tied with Emerson and now Federer as well (which is why i want him so badly to win AO next year for a standalone record!), at Indian Wells Federer won his 5th and tied with Novak as well (which is yet again why i want him to win another IW title!), at Miami open Novak tied with Agassi at 6 (would be ecstatic if he can win another sunshine double next year!)...In Shanghai i think he is currently tied with Murray at three each (Which is why i want him to win Shanghai this year!) and finally at Paris he has a standalone record of 4 titles! The most valueable amongst all the tournaments records is AO, followed by sunshine double in march! I hope he wins all three of those next season! Also forgot that if he wins another ATP finals this year he will be tied with Federer at six each for an all-time record! He also can tie with Federer as well if he finishes the year as world number one for the fifth time (Sampras lead this though with 6 times finishing as world number one!)...Also i want him to win that damn olympic gold badly!

  • I think Federer's 20 Slams is probably out of reach due to a couple of different factors, but it'll be interesting to see if Djokovic can get even or possibly even surpass Nadal in terms of Slams by the time they're done. He's put himself right back in contention with this Wimbly-US Open double this year.

    • 6 grand slam titles isn't out of reach son! Haha Maybe if he tanked this season, just like he tanked 2017 i would have agreed, but given he just won last two grand slams of the year, like it is nothing (only his semis against Nadal was truly Competitive!) while not even playing at his very best...one's imagination can run absolutely wild as to what he can do in 2019 now that he is 100% back! One season like 2011 or 2015 and he will be at 17 grand slam mark, if he wins al four - he will be at 18 (more than Nadal already!!), one more season like that again in 2020 and he will catch up with Federer or even surpass him...plus a couple of grand slams more after 2020 to solidify his legendary status even further!

      @Summon256@Summon2565 жыл бұрын
    • Btw i don't see Zverev or Thiem improving so much, that they will suddenly start winning grand slams in 2019! It is more than likely that 2019 will be another "old faces year" to witness in the finals and maybe even 2020 as well! I don't think any of the youngsters will win any of grand slam tournaments until 2021!...

  • In my opinion, the ultimate truth why the Djoker is the best among Big 3 (or Big 4 you pick) is simply because he was weaker and lower than Roger and Rafa when stepping out to the scene, but he’ve overcome his limits and challenges to be equal and rapidly catching up the other two guys in terms of titles. Even now when I saying this, he is still on the rise and in his prime... Imagine Andy who came out at the same time and level likes Novak and what he achieved overall until now??? So you got my point...

    @cuongtran-be6fc@cuongtran-be6fc5 жыл бұрын
    • I got your point, but you have to take into account that the other two weren't always on the rise either...It took some time for Roger to figure himself out before stepping onto his winning path (many racquets were broken before that famous 2003...he was short tempered and looked angry! If you look it up now - Federer before second half of 2003 and Federer after - are two different people!), then Nadal with his endless streak of injury hiatus over and over again...and he is still prone to it (as most recent tournament shown!)...i can go on and one, you get it! Granted Djokovic also had some health issues early on (which he figured out ever since 2011!), but it is only fair to address the odds of adversaries as well to be one hundred percent fair! I am Novak's fan btw in case you think i am one of those miserable haters...
