It was almost as cool as the Peel, albeit in a much more handsome paint job.

Manny's such an awesome guy. He's literally telling James to floor it without saying it. lol
He'd be cool if he let the Donut guys drive the Veyron like they did with every other car. But no, he's such a narcissist that he has to be in every video that any of his cars are in. Depending on the video that might be ok, but that definitely wasn't one of those kinds of videos. This was a celebration of engineering and the emotions that the feel and sound of these different engines give us. Passionately communicated to us by the hosts we know and love... and then there is suddenly this rich douche that had to make sure everyone knew who he was and that it was his car and how casual he is, oh look at me just sitting here in the passenger seat, letting another youtuber drive my 2 million dollar supercar, pff no big deal LOL, but just gotta make sure I'm the video though. I get that it's an expensive car, but it's not like they are some unknown youtube channel just out for a joyride or planning to go triple the speed limit. And even if he was concerned about any such possibilities he could've just been quietly sitting there out of shot. That wouldn't be unreasonable to be fair. I've seen him in dozens of videos over the years and that is always the impression I get from him.

1:20 The 4 strokes of an internal combustion engine, as my dad told me, are: Suck (intake), Squeeze (compression), Bang (ignition), Blow (exhaust). It's something I'll never forget, I've used it many times to diagnose problems with my ride. I beat James to the fraze. I didn't know he was gonna say that, but I guess I should have it fits his personality.
Jay is a true gift to the automotive community, what a gem
If I might suggest, a far better choice for a 2 cylinder would have been a Citroen 2CV. It is a beautifully balanced 602cc flat twin boxer. I think you would have been impressed.
I was surprised as well, since that's what most people think of.
true, but they could've also picket the fiat 126 for an inline 2 (since the next ones up are inline 3, 4, 5 and 6). or a trabant if they wanted a 2 stroke inline 2 engine in the mix as well.
Or the newer fiat 500 twinair
Pretty boring car but pretty common overhere
Also a good pick for 2 cylinder would be a volkswagen XL1 800cc 2 cyl Diesel engine
This channel is so fun..no idea how you source this stuff, but thanks for being a great channel..mo powa baby
12:30 JLR is now using a 3.0L inline 6 for their primary engine these days. It's an option in almost every model. From the F-Pace, to the Defender to the Range Rover. Been out for a few years now and apparently is a pretty great engine so far.

You guys should do a "No cylinder engine" list and compare rotaries, hydrogen, electric and jet engines. I know their not the same but I think it would still be a cool video concept to see the rest of the automotive worlds power houses
I wish water powered cars still existed. That would be my dream car. Aqua powered.
@@eternalbeing3339 Still? They never did, unfortunately. They're all false claims. Hydrogen combustion exists, and so do hydrogen fuell cells, but no car or engine, or fuel cell, can take pure water and turn it into useable energy all on its own. As the only usable energy in water is in the hydrogen, and to get the hydrogen out of its stable chemical bond, you need to use a lot of energy/electricity. More energy than there is in the hydrogen you get out of it due to efficiency losses. Even in a perfect world, you'd get just as much energy out as you put in. So there would be zero usable energy. All of those claims of water fueled cars are all perpetual motion machines in essence.
@@xenokyomi Actually, steam cars existed, or rather steam trucks, if you took the time to look em up theres actually still some of these in service (probably around the UK)
@@user-df7rn4bk2u That is a different principle, and also something that never quite worked out. However it still isn't a water powered or fueled car. A steam engine, yes has water in it, but the water is just a medium to transfer energy through. The power is being generated by heat, usually by burning coal. Coal is the fuel, and is providing the energy. The water isn't. A more apt name is a heat engine. The Stirling engine has air in it, but you don't say it's air powered. It's powered by heat, and is simply exploiting changes in pressure through a working fluid, the exact same principle as a steam engine in a basic sense.

My first vehicle was a 2005 Chevy Colorado 3.5L 5cyl. When I traded it in it had 235,000 and going strong. Never had to do anything to the motor or transmission other then changing oil! The Diablo and the Veyron both just gave me goose bumps. James is such a lucky guy who got to DRIVE those monsters.
I had a 5 cylinder in my 6 speed Volvo S40 T5 (turbo) it was actually super fun to drive. I then purchased a BMW 335xi 6 speed and that was wayyy more fun to drive, so I ended up giving my S40 to my dad because I always wanted to drive my BMW, but that Volvo was sporty for what it was, it was great because it got better gas milage than a 6 cylinder, and had more power the 4 cylinder so it was a great motor, best of both worlds. I think the 335i is super underrated; twin turbo inline 6 that thing hauled ass for the price you can get a used one for. Mine was all wheel drive too. I bought mine in 2011 and it was a 2008 the guy that sold me his, i don't know what he was thinking he sold it to me for 13.5k with 30k miles. I was looking for one and all dealerships wanted like 25-30k with 50-70k miles on them at the time and that was for a non-AWD. The guy had it custom made too with bunch of upgrades like bose sound system, M3 upgrades like the seats, steering wheel, and the wheels were all M3. I had it up till 2 years ago I had it up to 190k miles put a stage 2 clutch in it at 180k, but my company bought me brand new Toyota Camry AWD back in 2020 that I had custom made and they pay for gas, insurance, registration, etc, and I also have a 2017 F150 with the V8 5.0 Coyote I bought in 2018 to tow my wakeboard boat, but I like it so much when I wasnt driving my Camry I was driving my F150, but since gas is free in my Camry, it's hard to justify driving anything else. I love thay Camry though great looking car almost handled as good as my BMW's. Oh I had a 2007 BMW 328xi at one point too that was an automatic that I drove with my previous company because they reimbursed me for .55 cents a mile and I traveled so much for work as an engineer my company paid for that car 3 times over. I wanted to keep the miles off my other BMW that car got totaled and I just never replaced it made no sense to since I was literally about to leave that job because they had bought 2 other engineers new company trucks and they hardly ever traveled, since mine got totaled I asked to use one of the older trucks got permission but then I got chewed out for taking it home everyday it was a Ram 2500 with cummins that had 450k miles and beat to shit, but they chewed me out because they wanted me to take it back to the office every day when we were working a job an hour away so I was going home every day and they wanted me to drive from my house to the office which is 35 to 40 minutes away to from my house then head to the job site or home after dropping it off so it added over an hour of driving on a job that was going to take 2 months I left after 4 weeks working that job site once I found a new job. Anyways for ever since getting the Camry my 335xi was just sitting so I sold it since it was just collecting dust and my neighbors grandson whenever he was over would walk over and beg me to sell it to him so I eventually said you know what fine bring me 7500 in cash and it's yours. Very next day he did. I had that car for 10 years. Those two BMW's I had 2007 and 2008 3 series were the two best cars I've ever owned, the ride is so smooth, they hauled ass. Maintenance had tad bit more than others but if you kept up with it, it ran so good. I do have access to my dad's 2001 V10 F250, which it's got some power and can tow quite a bit, however he refuses to tow anything heavier than a ski boat with it, which he sold his and now my parents have a cruiser boat, Sea Ray Sundancer 290 which weighs quite a bit he keeps it in a boat slip at a marina, but has the trailer for it so he can do maintenance, however he uses my uncles F250 that has a diesel instead to tow it because he's worried he might break something on his also he already had the transmission go out once right when the warranty expired, so he babies it. I try to tell him his truck can handle it and is built to do that stuff, but he said if it didn't have 170-180k miles and had closer to 100k he would, but also he tells me why risk damaging his truck when he has access to my uncles diesel that designed little better to handle those type of towing capacities, so I guess he has a point. He let me use it for awhile before I bought a truck to tow my boat. You can't even tell my boat is behind his truck, it stops on a dime, mine you can for sure.
