      @THESLlCK@THESLlCK7 ай бұрын
    • @@THESLlCK ??? It wasn't slow, nor was it really expensive for what it is. It isn't heavy either. It weighs 50kg more than the Ferrari 458 it competed against. The 458 does 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, the LFA in 3.6 seconds. The 458 does a lap of the Nurburgring in 7:33, the LFA in 7:38. Then Lexus came out with the Lexus LFA Nurburgring package, which smashed the 458 with a time of 7:14.64, making it the 7th fastest road-legal production car on that track at the time. But even the base LFA was a proper fast car. Loads of groups tested them on different tracks, and it performed great everywhere. It set the fastest wet lap at the Top Gear test track, the third fastest lap at the US Top Gear test track and the fastest lap time at Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours despite freezing temperatures. Auto Zeitung tested it against the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG at Contidrom test track, which is also where Continental tests tire performance. They had a similar top speed, but the LFA had a shorter brake distance and smashed the Benz by 2 seconds with a 1:35.66 lap time. Auto Zeitung concluded "The LFA dominates the AMG Mercedes SLS in the manner of a precise formula racer". They praised the LFA's race car-like response and handling. Jay Leno reviewed the LFA and was very impressed with it, stating that it was one of the greatest supercars ever built. He said there might be other cars out there that could individually do things better than the LFA, but no other car does everything so extremely well. I really have no idea where you are getting your opinions from. By all accounts, reports, tests and experiences, the LFA was a very fast road-legal production car.

BMW Z4 and VW gti already had sound modules from MAHLE i think... The Ford Focus RS had a different style membrane one.. We did a setup for an Audi A3 ranging from two stroke chainsaw to nasty racing engine. Biggest bonus: you get a nice motor sound and feedback, while not annoying every living beeing around. Volume and noise doesnt equal sound. If your engine needs that to get down your road at walking speed its broken..

  • The secret of the Pagani isn't just in the V12 (although it always helps), it's the equal length headers, who ensure that all equally spaced pulses keep being equally pulsed when they exit out of the exhaust pipes. Which makes for an ever smooth note, and keeps the pitch very high up. Also helps with power! But props to the engineers, the Pagani geniuses being given one of the best canvas to work on (AMG is nearly systematically known for the amazing sound of their engines), and the result is definitely at the level of our expectations.

EDIT: I actually just watched the source clips, and they may be the worst sound clips of any car ever. The first one clip I'm not even convinced it's the 350 revving (and there were better examples in this source too!). True, it did run at a lighter weight than the other cars in group C at LeMans that year, but it was also the most reliable car there that year, and the most fuel efficient. Two things that you wouldn't normally associate with a rotary, unless you truly know rotaries that is. I think if you heard these cars in person, you would find it much more dramatic than in the audio clips you provided.
