Hi Ela, does the Legion 5i is the same as Legion Slim 5i ? I think its not the same, Mine is Slim 5i and it does have ventilation on the both sides. and in the back as well.
From what I have heard at other videos it was the slim series only, they changed it for this year model
Not a computer expert, but I love the option of having ethernet connection port on my laptops. It's very useful, when wifi isn't always working on same speed.
i am confused between pro and 2024 model the side wents are removed so does that affect the thermals and is 230w charger enough but also where i live the 2024 model is 200 dollars cheaper than 2023 pro model with same specifications please reply

I've used legion 5i pro for half a year and I would say it's worth it.

I got the Pro model after getting rid of my dell alienware laptop and honestly Lenovo completely ate with the Pro gaming laptop because its far cheaper then alienware and you get so much more bang for your buck with it. I love the fact that they put vents on the back and the sides of the laptop and raised the bottom for better airflow, I overclocked the laptop on graphically intensive games like G2W on max setting and it handels it really well!
I looked at Alienware too but, after reading several reviews, I went with the 5i Pro instead. Never owned a Lenovo but they are typically at the top of the gaming laptop list so looking forward to putting it through its paces.
If I had the money I would go with the Pro.
It's on sale at Costco right now for $999.99, $500 off.

Im being so fr when I say they literally cost the exact same, B&H has frequent sales on the Pro 5i 2023 Model which has a 13900HX and 4070 or a 13700HX with a 4060, all come with 32GB or Ram and a 240Hz display.
Lenovo's wave of mega silent firings in early 2023 were absolutely despicable. They laid of thousands of really great people after posting record profits and bragging about moving up the Forbes list each quarter in their "All Hands" NA org sales meetings to those people that moved the needle for them. They ruined thousands of people's lives, especially those that relocated and even bought new homes during the peak of covid when Lenovo asked for their dedication to support and grow the business. Their warranty process is atrocious and considered terrible by anyone who has had to deal with service claims on top of this.
I am using a Legion pro 5i (32GB, 1T SSD) and love it very much. I added a 2nd 4T SSD and its as good as it gets for my usage. Just one downside about this laptop is the battery life last about 2.5 hours which can be a bit too fast. If only there's a higher capacity battery (Maybe 100 or 120W) that will be great.
Do you have the pro 5i 4070with i9? Can you dim or off your rgb keyboard on vantage?

Is the computer noisy ?
@@grimflash4333 No. For general use, its quiet. If you are running a top end game that is running it hot, the fans kick in but it's still pretty quiet even w the fans going.
What about fan noise and thermals? Better on Pro version since it has side vents?

Luna 5i in that slim case with 14650hx is getting hot even in basic use mode (up to 157 TDP)!. Lenovo Vantage gives you opportunity to turn coolers manually and with higher rpm..but it was Not so usefull. They new "cooling sistem" its just marketing, does not the job.I sold it after 1 week usage, and I am so happy I got rid of it.

Can't think of a good reason to buy pro. 5i being half a pound lighter makes it a better choice. Need to see the thermal performance.
For gaming laptop heavier the better, usually the cooling is very different

Hello, I bought a Legion 5 Slim rtx4060 ryzen7840hs but it has a buzzing electric noise when i open it and doing nothing, if i touch the touchpad the buzzing become louder or it goes away, I returned it, can you recommend me something better?

I got the Pro 5i. It seems for the keyboard RGB you just press FN+Space at.

i got the pro 2023 version and its identical beyond the cpu which is pretty much the same too, btw the battery life is awful at most 90 mins on idle idk whats wrong i sent it to be fixed now🙏🏼
What CPU? A 14900HX/13900HX (or any HX really) is pretty much a desktop processor. It is going to yield shit battery life in anything. It’s the price to pay for all that power. Also, you lose like half the computing power when running off battery. A gaming laptop isn’t meant to game when unplugged. To get decent battery life in a gaming laptop, have to bump down to an H series processor, which hurts performance.
@@TechnoLawyer a 13700hx but i missed a deal on the i9 but this is enough too, btw i dont game on battery ik gaming laptops dont last, i said on idle i get 90 mins, i check my battery discharge and its 50watts on idle! literally nothing running, all the power saving features in os and bios too but nothing works, i thought it was weird from when i got it and just brushed it off with the excuse of it being a gaming laptop but when i saw on a video that others with even 4090 get 6hrs on light use i sent it to lenovo to fix, my guess theres a leak somewhere or power management controller is faulty but that is as far as i can guess w my knowledge🤔
@@MLTAKOS I have a Triton 17X with a 4090. Battery life is trash on it. But that’s fine, I bought it assuming I’d never actually use it on battery. If yours isn’t matching the battery life of others of the same model, then yeah, something’s up.
Very interesting up 32GB of RAM GAMING laptop computers, difficult to choose between them, so OS, I choose BOTH of them and or TWO of the same kind, one for Gaming and the other for personal usage only. Other than that, I don’t really like the trackpad in the middle of the Keyboard, I think a better designed laptop trackpad should BE move to the right under the numeric keypad of the laptop’s keyboard and that is that, but yes I guess is difficult to place the keyboard in the middle of the Laptop, which should be ideal, except when there is a numeric keypad involved, right? 😺🥰💻✨💎
I feel like pro isnt worth anymore because u just cannot differentiate inbetween anymore and in my country i can spec the 5i with i7 14th gen rtx 4070 and 240hz for 1530 dollars and the same spec in 5 pro would cost around 1870 dollar . { and the legion 5 i has extra rgb power button } 😤
I stick to my Legion Slim 7 gen 8 with i9-13900H and RTX-4070 for now 🤔

Got an XPS-15 9500 in 2020 for almost $4000 (!!!!!!!!!!!!!). The thing is limping out its last this week, was constantly malfunctioning throughout its entire existence. Even as someone who will use my laptop for absolutely everything, I look at the selection of gaming laptops available and I feel like I got conned. If it is possible to fit such high performance into a package that costs half of an XPS-15, then what in the hell did I pay for in the first place? Why are high performance business laptops even a concept?
I always thought Dell laptops were a scam (in terms of value for money). Till date I have owned HP dv6 (2010), Dell Latitude 3450 (2016) and LOQ 2023. Dell was much worse than HP. Even today I see the specs of Dell XPS and wonder why are they costing a bomb 😄
3:08 These could cause misunderstanding, they don't max out on 2TB or 1TB, that's what the laptops comes with, after that you can expand to whatever the hell you want.

The 165hz screen is not HDR. The 240hz is.

Hey Ella! Recently you've reviewed the whole Samsung & Apple ecosystems. That gave me an idea that you could make a very in-depth comparison between an Android phone and an iPhone (could be a comparably priced Samsung, Xiaomi, Pixel or just about any Android phone at about the iPhone price). But I'd love it to be *extremely* in-depth. There are many features no one talks about when comparing Android with iOS, like the enormous gap in functionality between Android keyboards (e.g. Gboard) & the iPhone keyboard, the fact that on iOS some settings are in the app they're related to and some in the global settings, or multiple various flavours of customization, which iOS just simply lacks. I feel like the vast majority of tech KZheadrs don't even touch on these topics when comparing Android phones with iPhones, creating the fake impression that they're... comparable. While the way I see it, iOS is basically impaired in comparison to Android, because of so many features lacking. What do you think about doing such a video? I'd love to see it and I bet it's not only me + many people may learn about the differences to finally make an informed decision. Cheers from Poland!
Somebody talked about Ella doing the ecosystem of Samsung and Apple personally I prefer the Samsung I have one of their very good tablets the s24 ultra and one of the qled TVs 75 in of course anybody that wants Apple that's up to them I wouldn't have one but you hear a lot of Americans say bye American and then they go out and buy an iPhone made in China now apple is an American company but it still made in China although I don't have any problem with anything made in China I've had two of their Hisense tvs and they're very good

Great video!!! I just wanted to tell anyone that is interested in the lenovo legion 5i pro (I have this laptop, that if you are in europe and purchase one without an OS, you wont be able to change the setting for secure boot, so games like valorant wont run. It is a well known issue throughout users and we are still waiting for an answer from lenovo. Other than that this game is a b.e.a.s.t.

Very bad laptops, very heavy and support only intel raptor lake and not meteor lake, extremely inefficient, which has forced Lenovo to make them heavy. For me this is a quick grab of money for Lenovo.
