  • A very interesting presentation by the competent Prof. Ahmed Al Jallad. Nevertheless, the transition from the Pre-Islamic writing tradition to the Qur’anic orthography remains shrouded in mystery. How did that huge leap occur from the relatively primitive and almost ineligible writing system to the Qur’anic writing that seems to be relatively highly developed despite its shortcomings that have resulted in variant readings at a later stage. Besides, the examples discussed in the presentation are limited to few cases. Overall, it is a brilliant discussion. Many thanks to the speaker and the host.

  • Thank you Dr. Ahmad Jalad for this amazing insight into pre-Islamic Arabian inscriptions, I am almost astound how the first two questioners were trying to link Quranic Revelation with Aramaic languages. :) and how beautifully Prof. Jalad negates and obliterated their false assumptions. secondly, to my humble understanding, the reason of deploying different denticle markers or spellings is simply to accommodate different Qureshi dialects of Arabic (لسان عربي مبين) in which Qur'an was revealed (a.k.a 7 Ahruf readings سبعة احرف ) for example i.e. تورـه or توراة , or ابرهم or ابراهيم so and so forth. consequently, these innovative writing style were deployed to precisely and competently preserve the reading of the Quranic Revelation for all audience. wa liAllahi al-Hamd. • Also isnt it weird that literally no scholar of Islam acknowledged this at all.. like they all suffered amnesia about the origins of the language? Yet they claim memory is so sharp they can transmit hadiths etc

    • @@worlddj1364 sounds like you have very little to no knowledge of Arab History and their culture, if you do, uou wouldn't be making these claims, Arab has well documented their History, read Early Historians of Islam like -Alhamdani, Wahab bin Mumabih, they have all talked about the origin of Arabic language and its evolution / development throughout centuries. It's your ignorance that you don't know about it. Not my fault.

    • You sound upset by the first two questioners. Why? They were simply asking questions. Christoph Luxenburg's hypothesis is a valid question to enquire about. No need to be upset. You sound like you get mad if anyone mentions anything that may contradict the standard Islamic narrative.

  • Hello For the T marbouta , luxenberg mostly suggest that it is a H ,, to be read as the armaic h ... the dots having been added later In other terms when quran wants to write a T he writes it as nabira ت not as h with two dots.

    @kevinmyousfi2809@kevinmyousfi28094 ай бұрын
  • Luxenberg hypothesises that ayat is a wrong spellinh due to the later dots adding , the original word would be the aramaic word ata آث that has the same meaning ، wich mean the ي is in fact a ث Wich makes the true inscription of بآيت as باـث bi'ata b-glotte-t

  • Excellent! Your description has answered the questions I've been asking for years. It's now clear about the change in Arabic script & grammar. Thank you ! This writing technique holds many secrets. Please keep in mind that Allah conveys messages in the language of SIGNS. Arabic grammar is only used as a general intermediary. However, Allah's message goes beyond the Arabic Grammar. Only Allah can better explain this if He wills.

    • The scribes never wrote a ة in quran , they wrote a ه , the dots were added later , there is no proof they ment a 't' sound , its most likely an aramaic ه to be pronounced 'é' as un the syrian and lebanese dialect تفاحه = تفاحي and not تفاحت and less likely تفاحتون with tanween and all that garbege that were added later to make quran sounds better تجويد
