I’m genuinely glad that this game is being positively reviewed overall, especially by people I know have no problem with saying if something is bad or not. One thing I will say that I’ve noticed is that the general consensus is that the enchantment system is better than the anointment system because it’s less impactful and won’t make or break a weapon/build.
Can we have the same love put into bl4 ?
Bl3 had positive reviews but those was shills that game was far from what reviewers said I'm hoping these aren't just shilling
@@N.i.g.h.t.m.a.r.e.z people like Joltz dont like bl3 and epicnng dislike it as well reasons why he made bl3 redux which fixed alot of the problems. But i just want a decent story. You cant top 2’s handsome jack villian because he is the best video game villian. But besides that. I just want a great gameplay good end game content. And great replayability thats all
@@N.i.g.h.t.m.a.r.e.z Well said, there will be a lot of shilling methinks before the truth gets out. Just like mainstream media there is no penalty for lying to innocent people
I do not like though…that I’m level 14 & I’m already seeing enchantments on gear here & there…I don’t wanna use them fearing it’ll make things easier.
08:30 I'm very surprised to hear you say that, because the soundtracks have ALWAYS been fantastic in these games. I've always talked about how great they are.
*cues wam bam island theme*
Caustic Caverns comes to my mind.
If this game has any music close to the Handsome Sorcerer fight music then it'll be great
bloodshot ramparts is where game just completely outdoes itself with the soundtrack. Then there's Angel Core and Fyrestone at number 2 and 3 respectively.
Remember playing BL2 for the first time Oct 2012. Could not believe how good the in game music was. So atmospheric. Made the game, for me.
I’ve wanted to be able to use genuine equippable melee weapons since the first game and I never stopped feeling that way through each one. I shall do Krieg proud and put together the shiniest meat bicycle with my brrzerker 🎃
Knowing Gearbox, it might come later in a form of DLC or along some major ballance change.
Encouraging words from Krieg: BE THE CONDUCTOR OF THE POOP TRAIN I KNOW YOU CAN FILLET!!!
Big maps were advantage to me, they made Pandora feel bigger and somehow emptier and helped building the feeling of loneliness at the borders of known universe.
The music in borderlands 1 was stellar. The ambient stuff by Jesper kid and then all the mad moxxi dlc music was amazing as well!
i really, really, REALLY hope that this game was gearbox trying out new mechanics to add to the next main installment of borderlands, stuff like character customization, enchantments, endgame content, etc. i would LOVE to see those put into the actual borderlands universe.
this is an actual borderlands game tho... the story being more of a side thing doesnt make it any less of a borderlands game, and having an actual story wouldnt make it more of one either. These things solely effect gameplay, gameplay wise this is borderlands. idk why you dont see this as a true borderlands game
borderlands 2 was the best of everything, endgame just needed tweaking and the farm to max level are the 2 only things i dislike about the game
This is what happens when a company puts love into their game You feel so emotionally attached to it and judge the story because what it provided was so good you're left wanting more
If only they did the same thing to BL3's story.
What happens exactly? You are saying you agree completely with everything the reviewer said?
Despite some minor nitpicks, Wonderlands already outdoes Borderlands 3 by having a world that keeps me guessing and will undoubtedly give me reason to keep coming back. (Seriously, Borderlands 3 was more business than pleasure.)
Sadly I know exactly what you mean lol
BL3 had some great improvements like bosses, gameplay, and graphics... unfortunately its flaws were way too big to ignore such as its very poor writing, characters(Ava and the twins are the worst characters made), story and the massive wasted potential that Tales of the Borderlands brought. Whoever the writer was for BL3 just needed to be fired.
@@Bloodhurl67 tbh story is always secondary in a videogame, gameplay is what matters, but I get what you mean
Dude grenades are awesome having a million grenade moves popping everywhere all at once badass I'm sure the consoles and PCs didn't like it but I like looking at it
Yep i had a grenade that made 5 more grenades then they made like 3 more grenades each it was awesome to watch foes disappear in explosions
After playing the game I pretty much agree everything said in this video. Great game can’t wait for additional content!
I’m glad the game is fun and I can’t wait to play it
It’s a comedic game that hired some of the most beloved comedians and comedic actors in pop culture. I mean Wanda Sykes one of the most hilarious comedians of all time.
Idk about contending for most hilarious of all time, but def talented
I'm liking the game, it could do with a bit more smoothing down since there are a couple times when there's a slight delay between actions I can take and it becomes noticeable, also it will probably be better when they update it a but more as i've started to have lagging issues.
I feel like I'm the only one who likes the new melee mechanics in Wonderlands. It reminds of Vermintide but heavier and meatier hits. Gotta love that moment when you stun an enemy and then fill that bitch with lead from the shotty
Vermintide? Lol what are you smoking?
i wanted to revisit this after I had played and I think this is a great review. I especially agree about the overworld. I love it! But it's a little annoying having to run all the way across it sometimes. Feels like sprinting the maps back in Borderlands 1. In my opinion, I just think they should increase your movement speed, honestly like +25%. And then let you activate the blue shrine for another 10% on top. I just don't think you lose anything by being faster, and it's much more convenient.
The game got me hooked, as soon as they released the trailer with "Gimme Chocolate" from Babymetal
This is by far my favorite in the series! Especially its Loot dice & End game systems.
Two videos in one week, i didnt expect that
The only review I need.
btw you can open the overworld map and fast travel to anywhere
I am so excited
Great review, can't wait to pick it up!
I hated the enchantment system until I learned about the enchantments that modified your action skill. I actually liked those since it wasn't how much damage does it do but rather will this change make my build better?
Dog love the video, how do you keep missing that hammer move
100% love the video. But if you want good melee, trust me, there are tons of builds. I'm a Brr/Claw polyelemental max crit build, as well as a decent melee fighter class. Weapons like the Mage staff, Ragnarok, Fate Breaker, etc all are melee weapons that spawn ranged projectiles of differing elements depending on the weapons, but there are a lot of good melee options that make a focused build, actually really great when paired with a White Rider, Live Wire, Queens Cry, and quite a few other weapons. And believe it or not, the variation even in melee, plus buffs and enchantments make melee quite fun. You also don't have to constantly spam the melee button. You can just hold it, or use a ranged melee for it's infinite projectiles. Melee actually has a lot of thought behind it. Sure it could be a lot better. But aside from Krieg, now melee is a legitimate viable option for those whom are so inclined. With my build, melee helps a lot. It's not my main proclivity, but it helps a lot. Slap a 40% gun damage or elemental damage enchantment on your main melee weapon. Helps a lot. There's more to it than it initially seems.
,,Borderlands has never be a franchise which soundtrack has ever really impressed me..." You have really high expectations then.
Jesper Kyd is too good
Jacob’s Estate is my fave map ever! The old mansion to run around it love the atmosphere & the music is top notch I get right into it each time
I’m so pumped for this!!! I’m waiting for all the dlc to come out and then also after I find a ps5 and then I’m going balls deep!!! 🤘🤩🤘
The music in ALL of the Borderlands games was awesome. What is your favorite musical genre, polka?
Honestly I’m my opinion I really liked Tina in this game I think this is my personal favorite game with and for Tina
I’m so stoked. I’m off Friday. Gonna be playing all day!
I've been so excited about this game, and holy did it deliver. I loved the environment and I think that it's gearbox's best, and not to mention the music was absolutely the beautiful. The story was good but not exceptional, but I will say it's an improvement from borderlands 3. The dragon lord was also a really good villain and I loved how they did the ending. The game play loop is also soooo addicting and always keeps you on your toes specially with those encounters, not to mention that the multiclassing was a beautiful idea. Only criticism was that the story was way too short and I finished it in one day, but the side missions are super interesting to keep me in the game.
It takes place before assault on dragon's keep?
The biggest issue I have based on what I have heard is the lack of innovation in melee. When you hear fantasy and magic you tend to think of swords more than guns. Just would have liked if they made a combo system or something. Gonna have to wait for a sale if I pick it up at all.
"I'm a talking skeleton!" -A Talking Skeleton
Borderlands 2 Caustic caverns Title screen These two are my favorite ost
HEY JUST FINISHED UR DANGANRONPA VID AND I LOVED IT SO MUCH AND JUST WANTED TO THANK U FOR THAT MASTERPIECE OF A VIDEO (incase u see this :’) ok bye ty)
I’m sure they appreciate your kind comment 👍🏻
Honestly i had low expectations for this game when i heard of it, mostly due to bl3's kinda meh release and the fact that this game took less time to come out that bl3. But im soo glad that i was wrong, i love this game, its already a better game on launch than bl3 was and its just the beginning, i really hope it just keeps getting better over time.
Yeah some of the maps or environmental designs were imo some of the best the Borderlands series did ever put out there. One little grasp I have with the review or many reviews in general is the uselessness of melee weapons. Maybe it depends on the build but I inherited melee attacks as some of the most OP things in the game. They do so much of damage and inflict the enemies with a bunch of elemental dots and so on. Also it was often the best way to deal with the sheer onslaught of enemies the game sometimes throws at you.
not sure if you got them yet bit there are red eyes
I haven't gotten the chance to play the game yet, but I can't ignore that in videos the hud and the weapon on screen looks a lot like it has been moved downwards comparing to bl3. I can't be the only one seeing this and its just weird.
I know this is off topic but would you ever do a Xenoblade chronicles Timeline video
You could say this is a “pre-sequel”
The PTSD
Funni
I had no idea there was character customization
I had a ton of fun with the game but my biggest critique is that..it’s small, it’s such a short game. 30ish hours in and I’m done. And I don’t just mean the main quest, all the side quests too. Besides collecting collectibles, without New Game Plus, all that’s left for me to do is grind the same Chaos Chambers for better loot. Comparatively, I remember Borderlands 2 feeling seemingly endless with more quests and things to do than I could keep up with. Maybe it’s to fit the narrative of a table top rpg game, but Tiny Tina’s felt lacking in the same depth, richness, and variety of previous ones.
The random encounters seem more akin to Zelda II: The Adventures of Link from the NES days
On the random attacks, thats nothing new for any DnD type game, in Baldurs Gate you were attacked often while travelling
You chose to do random encounters aswell you can melee them and they will vanish.
8:24 - Uhhh BL has always had damn good music.
They had always great opening songs, no rest for the wicked (cage the elephant), this ain't no place for no hero ( the heavy),black dragon (the vines) and the other stuff
I debated where to put this. I think my generic response belongs here. You acknowledge my very argument actually. The issue you think that was resolved was by a child. She lost more than most of us can ever know, thankfully. As much as I love the progression, I don't think this reaction was too out of the ordinary. Perhaps, it just reinforced things, which is awesome because Tina is one of my favorite Borderlands characters. I'm just going to be sad/gamingly emotional if they kill her off in the franchise. Still, if that happens I think she might be the single most developed character in the series. A series that isn't really taking itself seriously. As I said in other comments, I love the takes on things and for what it is worth you have one more sub.
Honestly I would hope that Valentine, frette, ava, and Tina as the main cast of BL 4 would be fun.
Im fine with tina and ava but id be interesting to see two other vaul hunters tbh id be awsome to have gaige and really a lot of other vault hunters interact more and add more stpry to them.
no let me farm for a weapon /or buff to find the dice ect.
Jake Peralta as Valentine is a perfect fit
Map genie is your friend in collecting things like this. Game seems fun though I'll wait for a real release because us PC players got epicced again and I refuse to give Tim Swiney any money. I also hope there is a class that allows you to have pets cause FL4K was so much fun in BL3
We love Wonderlands, that game is absolut awesome
Also Valentine best be a Vault Hinter in BL4z
It's not before or after, it's diagonal
I am extremely disappointed to hear that melee weapons are underwhelming, melee and assassin builds are generally my favorites in Borderlands and FPS in general (yeah I'm that kinda guy) and when I saw the trailer for this game and saw the new Melee weapons my hype for it absolutely exploded, so sad to hear the bad news tho you mentioned this and added "unless you are making a melee specific build" which still gives me some hope. Great content as always and thanks for the spoiler free review! EDIT: WAIT YOU ARE TELLING ME THERE'S A ROGUELIKE MODE/SECTION OF THE GAME THAT'S ABSOLUTELY SPLENDID NEWS LET'S GOOO
Whats the loading speed for this game? PS4 Borderlands 3 was ridiculous it made me drop it for that reason
You're using almost 10 year old tech, what do you expect
I really liked this game, the take on the endgame did not age well though lol, like people who played that showed that unless you play a meta and very broken character you will just die since the scaling is so absurd. Overall still a great I had a lot of fun with ^^
i'm pretty sure it takes place before rolands death
Tbh I really like it alot I'm addicted also and the story better than 3
The best part of this is that Tina is tiny again
Yess...yess ..and yess
12:13 WTF do you mean you didn’t have enough time to test it out…. Nice review

Sorry not the game it's self but a thing about her character
I cant sto hering bojack horseman from skeletu king love his lines and dub
I thought Tina would eventually become annoying.... But it works tho... Still tho....I miss the grenades
I understand you didn't want to spoil anything but I feel you didn't get to the meat of the game which is the real reason it will be worth buying or not- gameplay, build viability, and replayability.
I cant wait for this game not beeing a fucking epic exclusiv anymore
Hi
I heard none of the bosses have dedicated drops so you can’t farm anything
More like you have to do chaos mode (their endgame content) to farm anything.
They're experimenting with a less crap farming system where players aren't forced to spend days basically not playing the game to get a single gun they want.
@@godqueensadie not playing the game? Before in the previous games you picked a gun you want to farm and you farmed that boss until they dropped their rare drop and then you go farm something else until you get the build you want and then farm some more lol
@@canontheory exactly & you gotta play through some maps battle through enemies to get to these bosses/named enemies it was FUN!
Never cared for the driving parts of Borderland games. Hoping they keep it like this.
Same. The driving just showed how empty and useless the worlds were and if you got your vehicle blown up it meant running forever.
Picking this up at 9pm tonight. Thinking of streaming this too. Can't wait
You might be disappointed. Independent reviewers have found this game to be lacking.
This game wasn't a game. It was a BL3 dlc disguised as a full game. No NG+ equals garbage borderlands game. I will say though I think you were wrong about the melee weapons. At least in my experience with the Stabbomancer, melee was overpowered. To the point that I didn't even have to use my guns. If you want to feel like your melee weapon is useful try incorporating a stabbomancer build.
First borderlands 3 is significantly better than Tina's Wonderlands. TTWL was a big step backwards for the series, but it was a quarantine game, so I'm willing to cut them some slack. Wonderlands... is just not fun. If you play with a focus on doing all the side-quests, you'll quickly run into a point where, despite scaling with you, you will be underleveled to proceed with the story. Resulting in enemies becoming bullet sponges; dumb bullet sponges. Making combat not so much a challenge as a chore that you just have to endure. There's no real chance you'll fail you just have to go through the motions for long enough. The weapons were all balanced to encourage you to use melee, but melee was never worth it, so you just get ineffective weapons, that don't Handel as well, do as much damage, or travel fast enough to matter, compared to borderlands 3. I found the best CQB weapon I could get my hands on was a sniper rifle. Nothing else could kill fast enough to prevent a charging enemy from hitting me. You know something is incredibly wrong when an average sniper rifle does a shotguns job better than the best shotgun you can find. If there are weapons and loot in wonderland that are worth getting that make the game worth playing it is locked behind several hundred hours of playing, as after several hundred hours applying I certainly haven't found them. It's just not worth it.
Big disagree on the soundtrack. The previous games including the first have much better music.
I wish you went into a bit more detail about the few things I'm really curious about. 1. You said the story was "the same borderlands story you are used to" does that mean the story is as bad as borderlands 3? Or is it more similar to the borderlands 2 story. I personally cannot play borderlands 3 without turning the dialogue to 0 in sound settings because listening to the characters make lame jokes every 2 seconds became unbearable. And I'm hoping they turned down the lol xd so random humor in this game to some degree. 2. How is the loot balancing? Legendary weapons in 3 did not feel special because of how abundant they were. I want to grind for cool, unique legendaries and i want grinding for them to feel like an accomplishment. Does wonderlands tune the rate at which legendaries spawn down? 3. Is there any section of the overworld that acts as a "hub" like sanctuary, where i can hang guns on walls or buy decorations. I actually really liked having a room to decorate in bl3 and wanted to know if that made a return. Or if the only collectables in the game are loot and cosmetics for my character.
Going by what K6 said in his review, legendaries are nowhere as plentiful as B3. However, keep in mind that how a Borderlands game is tuned at release will never be the same as after, say, year 1.
Look Joltzdude gave 9 in story and 10 in gameplay and level design but low scores in drop farming and loot luck system
Your ambiguous criticism clearly has to do with with Roland and Tina's feelings surrounding him yeah? Don't sweat it too much, if BL3 was any example Gearbox hardly considers continuity.
19:20 "The gunplay is as good as it's ever been"... Dude... Litterally, what are you talking about? TTWL has awful guns and awful gunplay. It's so much worse than BL3. Guns are weak, inaccurate, slow firing, and just don't perform well. They're balanced around forcing players to uses spells that usually are only 50/50 worth using, or melee weapons that just aren't worth using. For a spell to be able to make up for the damaged nerf that the weapons received, you would need to be firing the spells as often as the weapons but you can't do that. They took the weapons from borderlands 3 Nerfed them and then didn't provide a counter buff. The gunplay is laughably AWFUL.
oh epic its gonna be a rehash of the Tina dlc and i really hope this games not $60. they did miss a huge chance to call it the post pre post pre sequal tho
It an game in 2021 it will be $60
79€ for the basic series s/x version...
Have you played through it? Such a big claim for you to present to evidence at all
Most new games are 60$ lol
It's not a nod to pokemon. It's a dnd thing dude.
Don't know if it's just a rendering issue on your end, youtube playback issue or whatever, but the gameplay seems very stuttering. Very much like how BL3 plays. Same stuttering as seen before.
There are plenty of other gameplay vids on KZhead, just skim those to compare.
