Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel never got to reach its full potential before 2k Australia was closed down. There was 1 DLC in the shoot that was planned and that was Luxy's Space Adventure!

I feel that most of the assets and concepts were added to later content. The final Borderlands 2 DLC definitely does this, as well as the Handsome Jackpot. I don't think these assets would be thrown away and forgotten, they'd be used.
I smell Wonderlands DLC
I believe that’s what actually happened to those assets
Now I want space pirate dlc!
@@Loderyod We all want space pirate dlc!
@@LOON3Y_TOON3Y we have pirate dlc that technically takes place in space Captain Scarlet
It would be wild if 2K announced this for Pre Sequel in a few years.
The pre sequel is the most underrated game ever
Word.
Never understood why it gets so much hate.
I dont care if people hate it or not, its been a year since i was a casual borderlands fan
@@saschaberger3212 terrible balancing, endgame doesn't exist, etc. However, considering what happened, it's not really the fault of TPS
@@jinga9862 the pacing is bad as well allot of times you’re just sitting there waiting to progress the story
Pre-sequel is honestly my favorite of the series. It was just disappointing to see how much support that Borderlands 2 got while Pre-Sequel seemed to be the red-headed step child of the franchise. Without knowing what happened behind the scenes I thought it was simply due to a fan backlash or they just wanted Borderlands 2 to be the main game until 3 came out. A shame to hear the the truth
Same, this was and still is my favourite from the series. So sad the DLC never came out.... But at least they used assets in other DLCs
Not my favorite, but I like TPS a lot of too. I replay it sometimes just to remember how is be Claptrap, Timothy or even Wilhelm
Hot take : pre-sequel is better than 2 and 3 ( 3 is overhated tho but still ) but ain't got shit on the original game.
@@ernestmoreno8244 Nah. Imho it goes 3, 1, 2, TPS. I prioritize gameplay. If you're less into pure gameplay reasons, it's probably 2, TPS, 1, 3.
from what I heard, presequel stopped getting updates because it got too expensive for 2K's australia branch to even exist and they had to release the DLC's that were finished enough, this was Aurelia, Timothy, Claptastic Voyage, and the Holodome. It's most noticable with Aurelia due to the NPCs around her
I wish this was added to the game. There’s not really much content in the pre-sequel.
Kind of the fanbase's fault, it was their treatment of the game that made 2k stop supporting it
@@zoopie_doop8957 yes and no. The developers stopped adding content because… we’ll they’re gone. The company was cut off after they couldn’t afford to keep in business out in Australia. After they did the bioshock series and then the pre-sequel they closed their doors and couldn’t do any more content for the game, so the game suffered.
@@zoopie_doop8957 but the fact still is the dev team behind the game is gone. 2k Australia is completely gone. But I do see where you’re coming from. People pimp slapped the game on arrival.
@@PrinceFlumph I unironically love the Pre Sequel, it was never intended to be Borderlands 3, it was advertised as a spin-off and sold at half the price of 2, but people expected shit like a new engine and it to be the third game of the main series still. People hate on the Pre-sequel so much but don't seem to hate 3 for carrying over mechanics and ideas from it
@@zoopie_doop8957 I enjoy the game to an extent and hope to see content from it brought back. I mainly hope to see pickle return as a “be careful who you make fun of in school” sort of deal. He IS down on Pandora and was in sanctuary, but then just kinda gone. Also would like to see an update with springs and Athena after tales. And possibly even some stuff like a reference to captain chef or, you know, literally everything that happened at the end with the guardian.
Any lost DLC related to the Borderlands that actually acknowledges what character you are playing is always a tragedy. As for timeline wise it could've easily been before Claptasitic as not only did that end with Athena leaving again but Claptrap's entire line being shut down. Could do something simple to get it in the story too like Brick popping in and asking with all that money at Jack's disposal did he ever treat you guys to a vacation?
I remember this, I was so disappointed when this DLC got cancelled
I wish modders could add/make their own version of this DLC.
I feel that story wise this DLC would've been after the main game and before the claptastic voyage, they could've just said that Jack hired the vault hunters for a second time after their vacation went bad to avoid the issue of Athena being hired by him three times
But he shoots claptrap at the end of claptastic voyage
@@fulltimeslackerii8229 "before the claptastic voyage"
4:09 Top row, second to last. That silhouette looks like Zane.
Fuck, does it suck this wasn't a _Pre-Sequel_ DLC, but now that I think about it, it would make for an excellent six or seventh DLC for _Borderlands 3._ I bet Amara would love the idea of a luxury cruise, only for it become a brand new place to hunt for loot. Zane would be in his element there, too, I think. FL4K… FL4K probably wouldn't be able to relax there as they need something to hunt but as soon as Flamey's start raiding the ship, they'd be all over that. And Moze? Oh, damn, I think this might be the only other time she's been in such luxury. (Discounting what was found on the Handsome Jackpot, of course.)
2k Australia was under appreciated by gearbox
I believe the bones of Luxy's were used for the fight for Sanctuary dlc.
I feel like the story for it would be okay at best. The main thing to remember is that a lot of the events in presequel have to align itself with 2 at the time it was writing also with tales. The gameplay probably would be decent really as clap was amazing. In terms of what would they add would probably be like 5 legendary guns and about 6 to 7 new areas on the map. I dont think they would add any new rarities, unless they are going to replace pearlescents like how glitch replaced saref weapons and that would be the gimmick. Now in terms of quality for the dlc I would say it probably would be a scarlet or tourge level of quality and that isn't bad btw those are great DLCs.
That dlc sounds awesome
I gotta ask how many other people are hoping for headhunter dlcs or something like them for borderlands 3
I want this dlc. I hope it gets remade in a future installment
I read from the wiki, that the company that built the cruise ship was Tediore, and the President was supposed to be the some old guy that look like the host from every type of game show.
Cool idea to bring Athena to the DLC is to play it out like she's got a honeymoon with Janey and they hanging out on a space cruise and then things happen xd
Problem is that they don't get married until after jack, Nisha and Wilhelm died
Scissor romance
TPS had the best balancing in the game IMO. I still find the Doppelganger to be my second favorite VH after Gaige.
Pre-sequel and 2 have the best DLC of the entire series since they actually added new characters unlike borderlands 1 and 3
Seeing that we could've gotten a level cap increase I would've looked forward to this DLC
Yea I really do hope at some point they will come back and finish all the planned stuff for pre sequel
this is more content on it than i have ever seen and i really wish that it had gotten produced
I am gonna say the saddest part is that the claptastic voyage was amazing so imagine how good the others would've been
I'm sad this never got made, the pre sequel is in my top 5 favorite video games like ever
Same
I wonder if there's a petition to bring it back to life?
This makes sense that it’d be before claptastic sense that starts at like level 60 and presequel ends at like level 25-30
While it may not have been the greatest thing in the world, I think it would've made for a welcome addition to the Pre-Sequel. If nothing else, it would've given us (as the players) more content to explore. And as mentioned previously, it would've (potentially) given us a chance to delve into a more fleshed out backstory for our playable characters. Overall, I think it was certainly a missed opportunity if nothing else.
That one character art (possible space captain) was probably reused as Lorelei. They look very similar. Honestly Lorelei's accent always threw me off because they are the only one on the planet(and game) to have that accent. I can see how Gearbox could recycle interesting ideas and characters.
she honestly looks a bit like amara. iirc there is also a head cosmetic for her with those grid glasses and those frankenstein hair with the white strands. I would imagine that the character concept was reused for that head skin
this DLC looks literally perfect, I love alien plant parasites, I love the idea of an 80's themed neon space yacht, I love the Pre-Sequels playable Characters
It seems like most of the concepts got reused in commander Lilith and Handsome Jackpot but god damn I'm sad we never got to see that raid boss
I hope they someday revive The Pre-Sequel with add more content as they do with BL 2 (Sanctuary DLC), even though the original studio have been shutted down (2K Australia).
This won't ever happen. Ever. Move on.
I definitely seems like the plant stuff was reused for the borderlands 2 dlc and the space luxury stuff was reused for the handsome jackpot.
Oddly enough TPS feels like it could have been a dlc in and of itself I saw people blaze through it and it wasn't that long of a base game either.
Big fan dude. You should do a review of Tales of the Boarderlands, the Telltale game. I think you could come up with plenty of content surrounding that narrative
This would have been awesome if it happened. I liked playing with these vault hunters. I was hoping for no reason they would add something extra like they did in BL2 just for kicks. They'd get money outta me if this happened
This is actually my favorite game in Borderlands series I haven't played three though I'm well aware of the girl & the Mary Sue nonsense But I actually really like this game I've been begging for years for them to add a button to turn off your action skill or do something and they did and it actually recharges it faster and that made me happy also grenade jumping kind of worked so that was cool to. at least if I remember right
this DLC probably would have been sick to play if it was completed
I would've loved this.
I ❤️ Cl4p TP, TPS is my favourite BL, It would have been great this DLC...
Aww, That Raid Boss Looked Awesome :(((
This reminds me of the cruise ship that the Maliwan ownd
I'm honestly super sad this DLC didn't make it. Seemed like it would have been really fun and the concept art made it look great. I also remember seeing the speical heads and skins for this too but can't recall where. Honestly this would have made a great first DLC. Like the vacation DLC for Borderlands 2.
Controversial opinion: If this game got the same post launch support as borderlands 2, I genuinely think this would’ve been the best game in the franchise.
5:32 I’d like to think of this as a boss type enemy that appears somewhere in the dlc
Not gonna lie luxy dlc idea gives me Doctor Who and Terror of the Vervoids vibes Spa cruise, Hostile plant species and such..wonder if it was some inspiration
I am indeed upset that this didn’t see the light of day, also at the end I got an ad For the new venom movie that I wanted to see that I won’t be able to see so that just put salt on the wound
Iv always wondered what claptrap thought of auralias death
Yeah I heard that they essentially repurposed the assets from this expansion with the fight for sanctuary DLC.
they showed just add to borderlands 3
maybe the helper bots were what came before claptrap units. like a line that was replaced but sold off to the cruse line for cheep you know. heh maybe claptrap could have made a snide remarke at one
Personally gearbox could work on it and add it in with the second season pass of borderlands 3 since space and traveling to planets has been the norm so far
I'm not really into tps but this looked so good.
I feel like they can bring this dlc to life in bl3. If done right it could be really interesting
Man, I wish we got that DLC.
bro i wanted this dlc so bad
Sounds like a lot of this was reused in part for Lilith dlc and first 2 BL3 dlcs
I felt like the pre-sequel was always tremendously underrated and would have loved to play this DLC. It looks amazing. I don't know if we're getting a borderlands 4 or just a season 3 to borderlands 3 over time. However, I do feel like I would like to see this DLC come back as a story concept, but I don't know that it should be anytime soon given the idea of luxury and space kind of was taken by the handsome jackpot.
I feel as if auralia would have dragged them along or froze them if they didnt do it since she spent so much pocket change on it
I do think it would've been cool
Iv never heard of this before
I love bl been playing for 10 years loved tps and I wish this was added or do a remake for tps
If I had to guess, I'd say that Jack offered Athena and the others the vacation in order to get back in Athena's good graces (for his own uses). Athena, thinking that maybe Jack wasn't as bad as she thought and was just in shock when they opened the Elpis Vault, returned to his employ for the events of Claptastic Voyage, then realized she was wrong at the end when Jack executed Claptrap and left for good. After all, people _do_ tend to make incredibly irrational decisions when under stress, in pain or when angry, and Jack was all three by the end of the main game. It could be logical for Athena to incorrectly assume that Jack just had a temporary mental breakdown after everything that happened to him, and was somewhat willing (if hesitant) to rejoin his ranks when he wanted them to go into Claptrap's mind.
Wilhelm supremacy
It sucks that they basically retconned the entire game. I would have been super hyped up if they played off the presequel “war is coming” and had the vault hunters getting into some really big fights. I thought they were gonna play it like the Eridians got invaded by this other dimension/galaxy, and the vaults were either weapons depots where the eridians kept their strongest biological war machines, or they could be more like prisons built to contain the monsters unleashed upon them by their enemy, or heck maybe both would work. The reason why war is going to break out is because either the enemy is returning, or the vaults are beginning to weaken and would unleash countless horrors onto the planets they inhabit. It also could have been an eridian civil war where most of the civilization was wiped out and only a few factions remain hidden in the ruins. The Eridian from TPS is a friendly faction while some other faction wants to wipe out the humans who took over their homes after they disappeared. I also thought they might take a more character creation targeted approach as the eridian said we were going to need every vault hunter we can get. They could have used a class based system like wonderlands seems to be trying to let everyone create their own vault hunter. This wouldn’t even hurt the series as vault hunters get very little individuality(story wise) with BL3 basically making the vault hunter completely irrelevant. So much cool stuff could have been done, yet they went with probably the worst option possible.
Looks like it could work for bl3 but the handsome jackpot is too similar to the neon aesthetic
I get a weird Cyberpunk Metroid vibe from this…in a good way!
WALL-E meets Galaxy High. Who else remembers Galaxy High?
It makes me sad to see all this potential. Like I'm sad for not getting new endgame content for Bl3 while there's so much potential too.
My thoughts on this dlc is that, if it was actually made, TPS could easily be the 2nd best borderlands game (no way any is topping Borderlands 2)
The answer is yes we should have gotten just need more the story
Sounds like a mix of Borderlands and among us
i don't know why people hate the pre-sequel it has some of the most fun characters to play along with one of the best dlcs
This dlc could've been my reason to revisit the pre-sequel. But it's not here.
Bro, if the Pre-Sequel actually had this, I would've loved it, it seems so cool and interesting, but instead we got a lackluster, imo, final dlc for bl2
I really like commanders lilith dlcs but you gotta admit at least it was free.
I love the pre sequel its one of my favorites but everyones is talking about how its the most underated game and not mentioning how good and underated that **tales from the borderlands** is! Or really mentioning it at all
I don't think Tales from the borderlands is underated. I just think it's a game forgotten by the community. You are right, Tales from the Borderlands is really very little played compared to Borderlands tps (only 20 avg players vs 450 avg players on tps on steam). I don't think Tales is underated simply because it's not really a game that receives many negative reviews from the community (I don't think so). Borderlands tps is the most criticized borderlands on social networks. Moreover, Tales from the borderlands isn't a fps game like the others Borderlands, it's just a graphic adventure. Borderlands tps is my favorite borderlands and I have honestly seen many negative reviews about tps.
Thai would have been so much cooler than commander Lilith…
Guys what if 2K gets back into Pre sequel & add one last final DLC like they did in borderlands 2?
does this mean it's in the directors cut? 👀👀👀👀
Meanwhile I'm here waiting for more of the One Piece story recap.
I wish in some universe we could play as the Vault Hunters from BL2 and The Pre-Sequel. Imagine having Maya and Aurelia on the same team! Enemies would never escape 😈
Is it only me who thinks the logo bare some resembles with The Jimmy Neustron movie
2022 THEY SHOULD JUST FINISH IT AND DROP IT WOULD BE DOPE oops caps
Wait each 6 characters were gonna get 6 new heads gearbox & 2k should hav just finished the luxy dlc themselves what a great dlc it would hav been not as good as claptastic voyage.
Do you think that the Add ons for bl3 and now tiny tinas wonderland prove that gearbox essentially admits that bl3 was a huge failure and that the only way they could try to regain fans is to fanservice us with obvious rips from bl2? Handsome jackpot, “kreigtastic voyage”. It just feels like that, by making these, they srr admitting that bl3 is not interesting enough to stand on its own merits
It looks very cool and interesting, however I think gearbox needs to move away from BL. They clearly understand how to make a fun game and fun characters, but just like with wonderland they need to step away from just BL with a different skin. I would like to see gearbox embrace their art style and wacky/dark sense of humor on full on fantasy RPGs, that dont have guns and tons guns. Im good with spin offs, but use them to experiment with cool mechanics and to expand the lore. I hope wonderland isn't just BL with gimmicky spells/melee combat and D&D sprinkles.
reminds me of atomic heart tbh
Not first
Nah it was the community and 2k Australia being messy
Third (i think)
First lol
Second
Same here too
