The 2020 Lexus GS-F isn't great -- but it could be, if you buy it in a few years. Today I'm reviewing the GS-F, and I'm going to show you why it's not so great, and why you'll want to wait to buy one. I'm also showing you all the quirks and features of the GS-F, and I'm going to drive the GS-F to show you what the Lexus GS-F is like on the road.

Lexus may be very late to the technology party, but I'm certain that Lexus owners don't suffer from anxiety of being stranded on the side of the road due to unreliable tech as some of us BMW and Mercedes owners do ;)

  • I’ve had a 2013 GS 350 since 2013. Through 7 years I’ve put over 100,000 miles on mine. I can tell you one bad flaw in this model is that the servo motor for the air conditioning system has broken down three times in 7 years. I was lucky the first 2 times as my car was under warranty till 2018 and it was fixed for free but in January 2020 it broke for the third time and to replace it with labor cost me $1400 US. It’s a very badly designed motor. It’s hidden behind the dashboard, so the company has to literally take apart the entire car from the inside to fix it. According to the dealership it’s a very common issue in this generation of the GS and ES models. Servo motor basically controls the air of the cabin and when it breaks down by default the vents stay open permanently so basically your car does not cool the interior at all. It’s terrible because I live in Dubai and temperatures reach way over 110 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s the only big issue I faced with my car.

    @rahuldaryanani7292@rahuldaryanani72924 жыл бұрын
    • @Frankie Basile the heat has been there for years. I have other vehicles as well and they don't face this problem, I have a Honda accord 2014 with over 130,000 miles on it now and it has never given me a problem like my GS has. I know it sucks but that's the reality, luxury doesn't always mean better quality. In fact in my experience luxury cars actually give you more problems over the years because of complex options in them. If you ever owned a Mercedes-Benz or BMW for 5+years, you will definitely face a few hiccups. Regarding the problem in the GS, its an extremely common issue in this generation because of the materials inside the servo motor are 90 percent plastic, countries like Japan and majority of the states in USA don't have extreme heat conditions like dubai. So a company as big as lexus can't customise internal parts for different countries, that will cost them hundreds of millions for changing just the outer shell of a servo motor in an already established production line plus plastic is obviously much cheaper to work with.

It takes time to learn how this car behaves in different modes. Lexus designed it that way. There are abused ISFs with over 300k miles with no issues.
