  • Really cool video for someone slowly getting into boxing on their own. I used to be a distance runner but got a little too comfortable ignoring the pain of it and injured my knee. Hoping I can slowly get back to it and eventually hire a boxing coach.

    • @@dhyanpatel6058 That's great! And of course remember boxing is a highly technical and strategical sport. I would love to see some video of what you're working on to give you some suggestions, if any, you can send it to me on WhatsApp at 706-818-4542

  • Hey Coach have a serious issue with my son hes very technical and well conditioned the problem is when hes in a fight he freezes completely panicks is there anything he can do?

    @GerardMcCarry-xk9vi@GerardMcCarry-xk9vi8 ай бұрын
    • How old is he? Here are some general thoughts without much detail on what exactly your son might be experiencing and thinking in his own mind. 1. He can simply improve with just more fights, The mindset to improve as a boxer is to understand as you and I know that it doesn't matter how many fights you lose as an amateur you can still go on to be a national champion, learn the great lessons from boxing and even be a great pro! A coach I am friends with has a son who is a national champion who lost his first 10 fights before getting his first win. So focusing on just progress not perfection and maybe not even winning at this point. Therefore every fight is just working on improving versus maybe even necessarily winning and that might pull the pressure off of him a little bit to just simply let loose and do what he needs to do. 2. Something that has helped me out immeasurably and many of my fighters is visualization. Google the study done in the '70s on free throws with visualization and you'll see an example of the amazing benefits statistically. When he shadow boxes he should be visualizing but sometimes that's not enough. So sitting down and actually visualizing his fights and his next fight every night. And doing what he needs to do versus what he's doing now may have a powerful impact. 3. How is he in sparring and how much does he spar?

      @coachKeithKeppner@coachKeithKeppner8 ай бұрын
    • Thanks very much for your reply he's 13 and in the club he spars once a week he's great to watch in the gym but in fight night he's stiff and unable to throw combination and can't take instructions and gets completely spooked I'll pass the info on to him and hopefully he'll be able to take it on board thanks again

    • @@GerardMcCarry-xk9vi okay, I definitely more fights and perhaps focusing on the mindset of learning might help take the freezing away from him as well as making a point to go to different gyms to spar which will help mimic. Also some of that fight feel
