What I liked about Leo, even though he is a little arrogant like Cristiano, but I liked his response when they told him, "Didn't you forget a player?" Leo laughed and told him the journalists Cristiano! Cristiano! He replied, I did not mention him because we are not compared to others... At this point, I almost burst into tears. Although I am a fan of Leo Messi and a fanatic, and I did not respected Cristiano Ronaldo "before", I regret all of that now...and I ask that football forgive me. Cristiano Ronaldo, with or without the World Cup, remains a legend and one of the greatest footballers, along with Messi Pele and Maradona.

I think messi is pretty humble considering how damn good he is and how much everyone reminds him of it, that's something I like about him, he's like the antithesis of Diego Maradona in the personal aspect. Ronaldo has definitely been on another level than all the rest in the last 1 and a half decade. It's just that he was unfortunate enough to play in the same era as Messi. I rate Messi as the absolute goat, but Ronaldo is the second best player I've seen. His inhuman work rate, professionalism and dedication to being a perfect athlete is something everyone should admire.

@@ravindra8240 I'm highly doubting that we will see players like them as fast as you claim. People havn't really sat down and examined just how insane their numbers are. For comparison: Mbappe had his first season as a truly prolific goalscorer in 2018/2019 where he scored 39 and assisted an arguably more impressive 22. This is Ronaldo/ Messi level in an AVERAGE season for them. Both of them have had better standout seasons. Messi has had seasons like that or even better from 2008/2009 all the way till 2020/2021. If Mbappe wants to be in the same list as Messi and Ronaldo, he has to both improve a bit and also keep it up for another 8 and a half years. I can see it happening, but it is certainly no guarantee.

You also need luck (in order to escape major injuries, for instance). Whoever/whatever convinced you that hard work is enough and only applies to Ronaldo didn't do you any favor at all. If you are convinced that Messi doesn't work as much or more than Ronaldo, you are very wrong. Don't fall for the "naturally talented vs the hardworking" image that the media tries to sell. That is a myth. Ronaldo is just very open about his work ethics and Messi isn't as much. It takes natural talent and hard work to succeed. Both have these in equal measure. That's it.

For comparison: Mbappe had his first season as a truly prolific goalscorer in 2018/2019 where he scored 39 and assisted an arguably more impressive 22. This is Ronaldo/ Messi level in an AVERAGE season for them. Both of them have had better standout seasons. Messi has had seasons like that or even better from 2008/2009 all the way till 2020/2021. If Mbappe wants to be in the same list as Messi and Ronaldo, he has to both improve a bit and also keep it up for another 8 and a half years. I can see it happening, but it is certainly no guarantee.

You also need luck (in order to escape major injuries, for instance). Whoever/whatever convinced you that hard work is enough and only applies to Ronaldo didn't do you any favor at all. If you are convinced that Messi doesn't work as much or more than Ronaldo, you are very wrong. Don't fall for the "naturally talented vs the hardworking" image that the media tries to sell. That is a myth. Ronaldo is just very open about his work ethics and Messi isn't as much. It takes natural talent and hard work to succeed. Both have these in equal measure. That's it.
