Question of the Day 💡Do you record videos outside? If so, have you used a light? Check Out Our Favorite Outdoor Light, the GVM SD600 - gvmled.com/sd600d-exp/?aff=102
Hello content creators
Of course
I just purchased a light thanks to this channel! I mostly film outside during the day though.
Can you recommend one under a 100$
Can you make a video on the difference between pexpensive rofessional lights and budget lights? (anything under $300). I was surprised to see there wasn't a single video on youtube comparing them
Dude thankyou for getting straight to the point with this video and not being like every other youtube that spends the first 2 minutes of their tutorial vlogging about their day, then an ad for Raid Shadow Legends, then tells you all about their film making course...
Isnt that the most annoying? 😂
!!!!!!
I want to thank you for making such a concise to the point clip with no unnecessary intros and outros!
Wow this video just improved my video quality with almost no effort thank you!!!
Bro, you already have 1 Million Subs, you don't have to worry about your lighting cause people are already enjoying your content as is! Lol
Lights have a way of doing that 😊
Good tips - a white umbrella is a good substitute for a soft box if you're on a very tight budget, but they bounce light around the room more. A white shower curtain is also useful for even softer light, you can make it look like natural window light.
Great video! I don’t have the space for the cob style lighting in my room due to other music gear, but I recently found out about the GVM Edge (pancake/flapjack) style light and it works great. Just clipped it to my desk & provides enough soft light. It’s bi-color also & remote controllable & adjustable on the back of the light or via an app. Sean had a video about a smaller one on this channel a while back, but I got the 15” one. Affordable @ $150 if you can catch it on sale. Cheers!
great video. i appreciate this, and I'll add to my production checklist -- one of the many variables I gotta keep track of before hitting record/stream!
I recently made a DIY light setup and i was really happy with it … but i still ended up finding it a bit harsh even with a diffusion film … in my recent video i tried reflecting it off my white wall instead of directly on me and that looked soo much better 💯
Reflecting of a wall or ceiling is crazy useful
I was going to add about glasses, which took me the longest time to work out, but you got it in your opening tip, however, I do it a little differently and usually put 2 lights on either side (although a bounce card also works). I have my key light brighter and the other one about 30-40% lower. I used to have a hair light, but now I'm bald, and I use most of my lights for work, I tend to not need or use that extra light. I recently had the opportunity to have a floor lamp in my new studio, so it's really nice to have a real practical light in the background. As always you guys are awesome. Keep up the good work, you helped me so much when I first started to take content creation seriously.
A good alternative for a COB light is the Andoer EX60III SL-60W. It's budget friendly at £80 I think I paid. Or there's the Andoer LM60Bi which is £78. I quppied my light with the Laofas D60B mini dome, which was also cheap at about £50. Thanks to Sam Holland's review. Budget friendly options.
Thank you soooo much for this!!! Exactly what I needed!
This was a perfect video for us newbies!! No more setting the lights up right at eye level! Thanks much!!
I remember when i learned lighting positions, super helpful!
Thanks for making this video. It's quick and easy to absorb. More like this 👌
Came for the lighting tips, also learned to how to make a kickass sponsored post that helps viewers at the same time. Keep up the good work, Think Media team :)
one critical mistake is that the COB lights are spotlights. You do not get a soft light out of them with a traditional softbox. You need a deflector in front of the big LED in order to spread the light out. Otherwise, the spotlight just comes out of the front of the softbox with minimal diffusion.
Thanks. I learned a lot from this video. The tip about adjust the camera to three background light and then turn up the main light. Awesome.
Thank you for getting to the point under five minutes 🙌🏽
As someone struggling with lighting for the one month I’ve been here in KZhead, this video is truly helpful! As always, thanks Think media for always keeping me up to speed! 🤠
Glad we could help!
I remember when i got my first video light, it took a bit but it made a massive difference. You’ll get there soon enough! There so much you can do with just one video light
@@FellowFilmmaker Thanks much! I appreciate the encouragement. I’m definitely learning as I go

Setting the white balance on my camera made such a huge difference! I knew the lighting was off but I had no idea I could fix it with such a simple tweak! Thank you!
Thank you for sharing this.
Very informative. Thanks.
Thanks for the tips 👍👍
god bless you for being so clear
I’m at the point in my YT journey that I really want to learn the basics of videography. Appreciate the video!
Absolutely!
KZhead can be a fun and crazy ride! Loads to learn for sure 😊 cheering for ya
So good! Thank you! You saved my life
AWESOME! I've wondering about this it always glares on my glasses. This will help so much ty.
If your glasses have a anti glare coating it helps a ton
@@FellowFilmmaker ya they don't. Definitely will next pair. Thank you hadn't thought of that.
Lol OH WOW! This video dropped as I just left the Amazon app looking at diffusers and soft boxes for my lights. Talk about divine intervention!
Great video, thank you👍
Awesome video! Thank you!
I needed this thank you
The solution to #4, I've never heard before. Gonna try thet right now!! Thank you!

Another great video, thanks! What is the brand of soft box add-on that you discuss at 2:16? I’m happy to click an affiliate link if you’ve got one!
Very informative. Cool.
Man, this is so simple and good!
Amazing tutorial ❤
Great video and moustache. Thanks.
Thank you! I was blinding myself and I now know why 😅😄

What's that smaller softbox for LED panel lights that you showed?
Cool thanks for the info

Do you have a link to the LED Panel Softbox you showed to us? :)
I learned in this video more about photography and lighting than in the fifthy other videos before. Thank you .... god? xD
Do you have any advice for a day-time work-from-home setup? I want to look really great in meetings
Awesome , Does the canon 600 d has the zebra pattern in it , Incase it has , kindly guide how can I find it
The tip on setting your camera to suit the background lighting, then introducing your keylight is an incredible tip that I would never have thought of. Thank you for that!
Who makes those LED light covers you were showing? Thanks...
I have a Canon Rebel SL2 and SL3. Neither one of them have the option for the color temperature. Is there a way to update the camera or a recommendation of how to set it on custom?
Great tips!
Hello, what’s the size of the octabox? Thank you so much :)
I found setting auto light balance to be less troublesome than auto exposure. Especially on my old Panasonic camera I had to learn the lesson the hard way though
Hello:) what is the size of your softbox? 90 or 120? And which one would you recommend to shoot inside 2/3 m from the subject? Thank you so much
What is the link for the Cobb light and box setup shown in this video?>
Always love these videos y’all put out. Want to do the one week challenge to grow my KZhead
This was a really great video!! Thanks for it being quick and to the point! Perfect examples! And now I’m going to go burn a hole through my pocket to go buy a Cobb light! Hahaha! 😂
There are some affordable cobs out there! Godox sl60 and Amaran 60d to name a few. Got loads of videos on those affordable lights and which is best, maybe itll help you save a buck
very smart tips
any suggestion for the keylight with a budget of 200-300?
Great video 👍
I like how the video started with a tip right away, can you please make a tip on how to make a proper lighting when presenting a product or something on a table? (front, top etc)
It depends on the product. But i find a good 45 degree angle and a lil downward angle looks good
Hi! What is the softbox used for the led panel 2:16 ?
Bought the godoc sl60bi for just over 200$ two months ago very happy with it
What do you do if you're using an iPhone 13 which doesn't let you set the white balance? (I think it does auto white balance?) Thanks!
Can you sujjest me for dance video indoor which light should i will go.. Afortable
To anyone reading this there's no reason you cant hit your dreams if you never giveup on them 🙏🏾
What if I want to win the 100 meter sprint? 😜
Comments like this are so cringe
Why would I want to hit them?
Thank you so much.
Cool story bro
Hello there Could you please make the video on how to place a camera correctly Or what camera position will you what look may be I see, u have tilted your camera a little to the downside. Its like u are looking a little bit up. Why is that done?
Do you shoot your studio videos with AC on or off?
Nice tips, Now I realize I made some mistakes. :)
Thanks Nolan.
Problem with light being above eye-level is your eye sockets casting a shadow and your face not being well lit. I like to have a light above eye level and below or at camera level so it lights up the face!
What about white balance if you shooting your videos only with iphone? Isvthere any specific adjustmens on iphone to get that correct white balance?
Hi kindly assist I have a phone overhead for nail tutorials how can I place my softbox for great videos
I need lighting advice for somebody that does live streaming KZhead is small room that's on a budget
Gonna do my first face on camera soon, just got OBS and gearing myself up for it haha
Wow amazing. Video Info light video
very nice
Great!!!
how do we fix the white balance if we are recording on our phones? :)
Best option is to get an app that gives you control over white balance. In camera app does not have control 😢
How do you feel about Elgato Ring lights?
*Never let one failure from the past hold you back in the future* 👉🏻 *MUST READ FOR YOU* “As a man was passing the elephants, he suddenly stopped, confused by the fact that these huge creatures were being held by only a small rope tied to their front leg. No chains, no cages. It was obvious that the elephants could, at anytime, break away from their bonds but for some reason, they did not. He saw a trainer nearby and asked why these animals just stood there and made no attempt to get away. ‘Well,’ trainer said, ‘when they are very young and much smaller we use the same size rope to tie them and, at that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they cannot break away. They believe the rope can still hold them, so they never try to break free.’ The man was amazed. These animals could at any time break free from their bonds but because they believed they couldn’t, they were stuck right where they were.” *I LOVE YOU* ❤️
Pls guys I need fast respond , what is better light to get amaran 60d s or gvm80d
the only one i disagree with is the last point. you can get some clever lighting and beautiful scenarios using hair/rim light(s) and a fill light to fill the shadows opposite of the key light's output. more lighting makes it look more dramatic while still retaining detail in the shadows and gives you more data to play around with in post processing of the video.
Quick and to the point. Not an ounce of fat.
What about for fitness channels?
Great video... but... about light positioning... ¿What happens if you wear a hat or cap? Thanks! =)
Good question! You could try lowering the light so it doesn't cast too much shadow on the face!
Everytime i have white in my video it looks blown out. How can i fix this? I have it on manual mode.
Probably change your camera settings.
I am concerned about the lack of response to questions people ask. For instance, I followed a video a month ago about Final cut output settings for 4K video for KZhead. How come you get 250mb 4k file size and I get 5.4 GIG using the same settings? My video is only 11 minutes. Surely KZhead doesn't want huge uploads? What has changed?
Sometimes it is bigger if there are alot of graphics, luts, or effects
oh my lord. I've been shooting manual, and I just realized the reason why the color is shifting so much is because of auto white balance... LMFAO. THANK YOU GUYS.
Dude your SO UNDERRATED
❤ Much appreciated!
Where can I get the softbox shown in minite 2:14 ?
how to minimize noise form light cob in video ?
Any tips for top down videos or side videos?
Id say a good rim light is helpful. Also, big soft diffusion
@@FellowFilmmaker thanks!
