Can I get a racket from you so that I can continue my dream to be the best player I can be and soon to beat you. Enjoying your videos here in the Philippines.

    • All in good fun. I was surprised though that Pat didn't recognise a national player. It just goes to show badminton is really a less popular sport in the UK. I may be wrong though.

    • Hi Badminton Insight! After watching some of your videos for q few days already, I think I'm going to play badminton again after more than 20 years of not playing it competitively. Your warm ups and training videos are a good help for me to refresh on the trainings I had before in the younger years. Love lots 💓 💗

  • Heaps of credit to Pat. He took the gag really well. More importantly in my book, as a good 'intermediate' he was prepared to play a beginner that he didn't know. Too many club players forget their roots and don't want to play with or against beginners. Good fun, well done guys!

    • That is absolutely correct! Some guys I play with usually do not like to play with beginners and I find that awful. Why can't they just try to give some advice to them instead of being arrogant? But then again, it is not their responsibility to teach I guess :D

  • Amazing, I was smiling while watching. A story: I help to coach beginners at a badminton leisure school in Porto, Portugal. We had this blonde foreign guy once coming for our training sessions. As I always do, I play a bit with beginners to measure their skill and fit them with same level players. I start playing with him with a plastic shuttle and in a few rounds, I noticed it was worth it to switch to feathers. 15 minutes later I was dripping sweat like I was in a competitive game. I paused for breathing and ask "So, you have played before, where?" His answer "Oh in the Czech Republic, I was in the youth national team." :D Shout out there for Jan!

  • Funny video guys! I though that the game would start with Pat saying "You look a like..." as your popularity is quite growing over the past year. But it was funny, props to Pat for being a sport and also you guys for giving him a coaching session afterwards.

  • Our club occasionally had international players (this was a few years ago) and these guys turned up to play. So I was paired up with one of them in a mixed doubles. I introduced myself to my partner and vice versa, and casually asked if he had played much before, to which he replied "yes, a little bit" and I thought to myself "oh no, we're gonna get slaughtered" because our opponents were quite the strongest pair in the club. As time went on, however, it became apparent that my partner not only had played quite a lot, but was actually a fantastic player. I will never forget the moment I discovered he was none other than Rashid Sidek, one of the famous badminton brothers, and realised I was probably the only partner he had had who questioned his playing ability!

  • With the racket hand switch, you can straight away hear that distinct sound pro players make. Speaking of playing actual games, please upload your games if you can-either both of you playing mixed doubles or singles. But a serious game that is.😀

  • I do like this concept for playing against people if you aren't in a club. In the Netherlands you have an app for within a club, there it is mostly dividing people and creating groups.

    • @@BadmintonInsight Hi again guys. Just wondering if you do "one off" coaching sessions? We're coming down from North Wales to Milton Keynes at the end of August (mother in law lives nearby) and it would be great to have a coaching session with one of you, at your rates of course. I know it would just be an hour, but I've got so much out of your videos, I'm sure it would be really helpful to me to have a few pointers to work on. No worries if this doesn't work for you, but thought I'd ask 🙂
