So much so that driving to my mother's funeral 9 years ago, I purposely listened to it, just to reinforce its power on me. The single piano with string accompaniment is such a DEEPLY moving motif.

My mum was ironing clothes while watching to my left, while my bro and dad were on the other settee behind to my right. The bright living room lights bouncing off the patio curtains, the evening darkness peering through the gaps. It makes me so sad. This one scene in my memory is so important to me.

The sunset which we can see from out of our blinds, the orange dimming of the sunset spreading across the room, and my mom and I cuddled and my dad and sister cuddled. We would sit there for hours watching different disney movies... These kinds of songs just remind me so much of when i was really young.the curtains would turn orange and light up the close range of the other side of the room.

    • This music inspires me so, I often think of what I once read -life is about decision making, the trick is living with those decisions you made. Newman’s music is more than just a back drop to a movie, more than just a score to a movie , his music is so thought provoking , hard to put into words , it’s all emotional , things you have , people in your life, friends , family you’re lost -it’s so much more than beautiful , utterly beautiful music, it’s so , so much more. The genius of Thomas Newman.

Sitting some place ordinary, waiting for something common, waiting for it to be my turn to do something I don't care about and then a bit of sunlight warms my arm as I look out the window and I slip off, unintentionally, through a doorway into a lovely warm place, unguided, timeless, until they call my name. This long version is simply beautiful; the scenes are gorgeous, it evokes feelings of nostalgia about the places I've been and the beauty that surrounds me in this amazing world. A plastic bag blowing in the wind is the same wind that breezes on your face at the beach so it is the unexpected of it all in the end. I hope you all are here to relax and to appreciate it. Take a deep breath, think about the idea of gratitude, and just be thankful for your existence. What a gift! Life isn't a burden. At least it shouldn't be for anyone. I know that pain and hateful exists out there... but this single space in time that consists of a video shared online with thousands and thousands of people out there is just a space to escape and relax.

  • This is such a haunting medoly to me its my past memories fleeting just like my life, the good and the bad each set in stone making up who i am each action and event so full of life and emotion now locked forever in my mind as a simple glimpse that used to be and that is what life is its so fleeting we live in our minds never really in the present moment always holding on to an old love ,friend, smile or event. I see children and i envy them they have so much a head of them like their first kiss or first love, they have so many firsts waiting for them and they get to experience the things i never did as a kid i feel empty now because me as a child was locked away.

    @crackeronspeed@crackeronspeed6 жыл бұрын
    • Thank you for your comment Abstract thoughts, it really got me thinking. It seems to me that decades ago, a child born into the world had a longer period of time to enjoy the experiences of their youth. They were able to retain a more extensive catalog of experiences to fall back on when times got tough in adulthood. Nowadays though, kids have to grow up way to fast and are forced into an adult state of mind, being robbed of their opportunity to just be a kid. I sincerely hope that you can hold on to all of your best childhood memories as long as possible.

It was as if I had died, and realized all the sorrow, pain, disappointment, hardship, loss, grief, failure, regret, trauma, struggle, worry, fear, anxiety.... were gone ... and I had made it safely home ... to heaven.

This man, this beautiful soul, this gift from God, touches our hearts and souls in such an enchanting way, it really is hard to put into words. But then that's what some music does, it transcends this physical realm we live in, and especially with Thomas's music, let's us know that there is something more than this world we currently live in.

  • I believe the idea behind the crafting of this theme is exactly what you all are describing. That's the main provocation Sam Mendes wants to make and Newman channels it in a way that not only improves this feeling but scores perfectly what we see on-screen. I just want a girl with whom I could throw all those strategies away, let go of my defenses and watch the sunset together. • This song is heard in the Road to Pardision, starring Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. The song has a solem feel and does make you review your life and time on this planet. But for most it helps you to appreciate life. You tend to remember those that have past and how much you miss and love them.

  • When i listen to Thomas Newmans score they always take me back to some mystery events or legends in the 1920 or 30´s (like Road to perdition or The green mile). This guy is easy "THE GUY TO CALL" if you want to make that kind of movie. He gives that kind of amazing feeling of unexplanations to it (was it dream or reality?) which i love with well made films.

  • She isn’t coming back, I won’t ever see her again ….. I wish her love and hope she is happy- she doesn’t deserve to be alone or feel alone …. Not her fault someone traumatized her, hurt her…. I pray for her to heal from past wounds, chose to heal. I wanted forever with her. Sickness or in health love, as is love…. She may not love me back but with all my heart pray each day for her amazing loving kind heart & soul to find love/peace again…. She get night terrors- I’d whisper-everything is ok - I’m here ,you’re safe ,go back to sleep in person or on FT. Her beauty -Van Gogh like beauty --starry night 🌌 like beauty…. Inside and out beauty…. Fell for her hard…. Her soul… her heart … amazing laugh/smile of hers ….. her petite height … everything….grew up alone being alone, never felt/knew what loneliness was until us not talking anymore….Love you LM / LL Always ⚡️

  • "I was asked once why I never joined them, the others I mean, when they left. well it was because I'd been ostrasized. by my own hand, I plucked myself from their hearts. and there was no... symbolic palm placed on my shoulder, no person or partner to comfort me. I'd imagined myself hudled down in a void. just my own anguish and my thoughts. it was horrible, but i never frowned... even now. strange, no? I don't know... it never felt right to feel misheveld. three of my friends dead, the others had come to hate me. even now, in a new circle that has accepted me... I am alone. why am I smiling, you ask? well, after I spared His life, I made a promise that I would never allow myself to hate that much ever again. I did it as your brother's dying wish, did you know that? as he bled in my arms. i still feel like they were right... but why in the world would you ever want to hate someone that much? I had the pistol to His head and... and I just couldn't do it anymore. I'd had enough hate for one lifetime... If He had died that day... maybe it would all be different. maybe I would be different. maybe you all would have forgave me..."
